A fox for life Posted 19 February 2006 Posted 19 February 2006 i think its amazing what has happened the past month, and its made such a difference to the supporters. but i dont think everyone should just yet get too excited and keep a little more open minded, what if we do go into a bit of a rut and loose a couple, u have to remember it is still the same team levien had. ok i know u have to enjoy it while it lasts but kelly doesn't have great experience as a manager but looks like his motivational skills are very good! i think the next four games will probally confirm it for me whether Kelly has a future past the summer with leicester. i can't beleive i read in another post that people where talking about playoffs, u have to be realistic. UP THE CITY
Jamesino_LCFC Posted 19 February 2006 Posted 19 February 2006 I felt sort of the same, like if Kelly was the right man for the job, but the Brighton game was enough for me for him to get my full support. ROB KELLY'S BLUE WHITE ARMY
Scow Posted 19 February 2006 Posted 19 February 2006 I just feel that under Kelly, we actually look like scoring goals. Under Levein, when we played de Vries, we created a number of half chances in games, but we never overly exerted the opposition. Playing Fryatt and Hume up front provides us with pace, skill and finishing ability. With Hughes and/or Gudjonsson breaking from midfield to join attacks, we seems to be more of a threat, which is helped by better oganisation and motivation from Kelly. I listened to Kelly on LCFC World, and I think he summed up the improvement in one sentence. To Paraphrase him: ''We always worked hard under Craig, but rarely smart.''

A fox for life Posted 19 February 2006 Author Posted 19 February 2006 I alwyas thought we had a decent team, just a poor manager yeah i agree, its a shame we could'nt keep levien for his talent spotting skills!!
Ric Flair Posted 20 February 2006 Posted 20 February 2006 I'm keeping things in perspective, i'm still not at the point where I expect us to win every game like the promotion season under Adams where a loss or even a draw was un heard of and devastation. I am enjoying the turnaround in performances and results but i'm wise enough to know that even one loss will raise a few nerves in the camp and that's when we'll see what this new era is all about. The atmosphere at the ground in the past 3 home games has been the best it's ever been at The Walkers and that's such an exhilerating experience along with the results we are getting aswell. The lads must continue to battle on though, every game now is life or death.
Babylon Posted 20 February 2006 Posted 20 February 2006 i can't beleive i read in another post that people where talking about playoffs. UP THE CITY Probably the same morons who call for the managers head after 5 games if he aint doing well.

Bloomer Posted 20 February 2006 Posted 20 February 2006 He has till the end of the season to learn what he needs to learn and to prove what he needs to prove. Forget any talk of contracts until we reach May. Then TD and RK can decide what is best for the club. This period is interim for lots of reasons, come the summer I feel we will see some comings and goings whoever is in charge. the focus for management, players, fanss must be to win as many as possible

We have amassed 11 pts. Crewe,Millwall,Brighton,Sheff Wed and Derby only managed 13pts between them!!!!! Thats 5 sides!!! great stuff
vanfox12 Posted 20 February 2006 Posted 20 February 2006 At the end of the day, the only thing that matters at the moment is staying up and i feel more confident that we will achieve that now than 6 games a go. However a higher finish than 15th place is more than achievable if we keep up the current form. Of Course we're still gonna lose the odd game but at least there's some fighting spirit in the side now.

UP THE CITY I agree that we have to be realistic but i do believe that the team that LEVEIN put together is very good and we can continue this. We have to be ready for what might happen- a losing run again. I think it could happen because even though the players confidence is high, i don't think it would take much to knock it. We need to get this season out of the way.

Leicester City Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 I alwyas thought we had a decent team, just a poor manager The 'poor' manager has given us a very bright future then.
l444ry Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 The 'poor' manager has given us a very bright future then. Dream on, if we'd kept Levein there wouldn't have been a future. It's amazing how many revisionists there are out there......
The People's Hero Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 Dream on, if we'd kept Levein there wouldn't have been a future. It's amazing how many revisionists there are out there...... Precisely - well said. Levein was taking this club to league one. And the excuses weren't even interesting.
werestandingup_weresittingdown Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 Only 12 points [/quote oh yeh!!! doh. even better news then?? just shows that we are so much better than those around us
Thracian Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 Precisely - well said. Levein was taking this club to league one. And the excuses weren't even interesting. Too right! The only place we were heading under Levein was summed up by Millie Jackson who once sang "Get down, and go down" ..........but I don't think she was singing about football!
Durnerz Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 I have said since Kelly took the reins that i'd judge him at the end of the season but his work up to now has been brilliant, he has kept every part of the club seemingly happy and the spirit around the place has lifted no end. Now with the experience of Ray Graydon to help him out i'm sure it can only get better for Rob Kelly and Leicester City but i'm not expecting miracles (e.g: Play off push this year)
Jordan Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 OK, maybe we should chill out a little bit, but there's plenty of reason for optimism. The League Championship is a good division but it's not great by any means. Reading is running away with it, but even Leicester under Levein had played Sheff. U. off the park and also should have doubled-up Watford. The bottom three teams are atrocious and it's only taken one good stretch of 11 points in 4 games to make relegation fears a distant memory. They've got a good group of young players that will only get better--and while the club might be hamstrung by its poor financial situation, young and hungry players will want to come play for Leicester if they keep it up because the club has so much more potential to grow than many other teams in this division. Most of all, it seems as though the players are happy to play under Kelly, and let's not underestimate how important it is to have a content and motivated squad. Kelly, although he might gain a better grasp of tactics/strategy in time, might not be the most sophisticated manager in the world, but if the players believe in his system (which they seem to do, probably because it's not "blast-the-ball-as-far-as-you-can-and-then-kick-them-in-the-ankles"). And he's not too proud to acknowledge his shortcomings and has sought help when he's needed it (i.e. Graydon). Those three factors have got me believing that the club has got the foundations in place for real improvement--the start of which we're seeing now.
