Bert Posted 20 February 2006 Posted 20 February 2006 i've just been reading another topic and it was something to do with people bowing down to Muzzy when he was in his last season here. Hume did this to the kop on saturday and i thought this was a great way to show his apreciation to the fans and IMO it shows he is clearly loving it here! Long may it continue! HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUME!

HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUME! I get the feeling he didn't get on with Levein at all. He's doing alot more interviews since Levein went and has commented on a number of occasions how great it is under the new era, obviously they are yet to suffer a few losses under the new era but even so I feel he's been given a new lease of life and is now truely loving it here.

Maybe this is because RK has seen the light ans started playing Hume, whereas Levein hardly ever gave him a chance in all honesty. He seems to have started up something very good with Matty Fryatt. A possible City legend in the making?
Strokes Posted 20 February 2006 Posted 20 February 2006 I think we were in danger of losing Hume had Levein got a few result's and stayed, he was quite clearly not enjoying himself.

Surely Hume only does interviews when people ask to interview him (Radio Leicester, the OS etc), nothing to do with the manager. I still don't believe Hume and Levein had a fall out as some rumours suggested and I don't think Levein never gave him a chance...he didn't play so much when he first came here true but he himself admitted that he was a little off the pace, then he was given a run of at least six (maybe more) games starting in the league and he scored just twice (both against Sheff Utd) - I don't particularly blame CL for changing it around after that, especially with Elvis not scoring too and the position we were in. He's played very well in his last couple of games which could be to do with confidence and/or fitness but I don't remember him playing as well before in an attempt to keep his place..

Interviews do have something to do with the manager and although Levein probably didn't refuse Hume permission to do interviews it's often the case that if players are a little unhappy at clubs that they might not do interviews unless it's for their own personal gain like Cisse or Lauren Robert, hunting for a move away. Hume actually scored 3 goals in that period you are talking about but I do agree his form was abit patchy back then, but so was alot of players and they still got picked week in, week out. He's now scored 7 goals in 17 starts, which is a decent return for a player who took a while to get in to gear. I definately think his aim for next season should be 15 goals in all competitions. With Fryatt the more natural finisher and capable of scoring 5 or 10 more than that a season it has the prospect of a very good partnership.
Bloomer Posted 20 February 2006 Posted 20 February 2006 I don't remember him playing as well before in an attempt to keep his place.. He is playing is a team that is performing with increasing confidence, he is playing in a position he is comfortable with and he is motovated by his management and by his teammates. Put simply CL = Shit Motivator RK = Not Shit Motivator. The whole team smiles together now, they dig deep for each other and its good to play for LCFC. No scientific or supernatural influences just good man-management.
Phube Posted 20 February 2006 Posted 20 February 2006 No scientific or supernatural influences just good man-management. So I can rule out aliens then? Good job I was begining to worry!!

Tbh, whenever I've been at Belvoir Drive, the media just seem to interview any player they can get their hands on. As the players went in after training a random player just used to be asked for an interview and then it was done. The main reason why Hume wasn't being interviewed imo was because he hadn't contributed something major in the last match so the interviewer would've struggled to perform a good interview. If he's scored in the last match then there's plenty to talk about which he has been lately.

Foxes 2 da grave Posted 20 February 2006 Posted 20 February 2006 getting rid of de vries out on loan was the best thing thats happened because rob kelly can play class like o'grady from the bench more often and give him a chance to fulfill his potential. hume should finish top scorer this season. if you read the news of the world on sundays it will show you that we have the second top scorer in the league fryatt. its nice to see a name on the list even though most of his goals were for walsall. long live the lower league legends era hume n fryatt
Tommy Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 I was talking to a Tranmere Rovers fan last night, and he reckons they are missing Hume like beserk, he was full of praise for him, like he always give 110% and he's a natural finisher, always seeks the ball and it looks like he's continuing that sort of football here, and I love it. Keep Hume and Fryatt going together for the rest of the season (which is what I think RK will do providing there is no injury to either of them), and they should develop into a fantastic partnership, we have seen evidence they can do it, just a little bit of continuity and there could be great things ahed for us
Bloomer Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 So I can rule out aliens then? Good job I was begining to worry!! No need to worry, our influence grows with each human form we take over. Soon the mother ship will return with the invasion fleet and the conquest begins.

I live a short walk from Prenton Park and I'd have to agree. BL has turned the results around in the last few weeks (apart from a blip last weekend) but it's all strangely reminiscent of the days when he was grinding the results out as Leicester Manager (the second half of the promotion season springs to mind). The games are dour defensive affairs with little of no entertainment value, hardly surprising as BL has steadily lost his flair players. The would love someone like Hume to put some excitement and passion back into the matches. Simon

It was a crime how he was pissed about and virtually overlooked under Levein. I remember debating with you whether he should be a striker or in the hole just behind and he's a lot more convincing up front now yet his workrate in other areas remains terrific. People haven't said too much but when you hear of publicly of spats involving Dublin, Hume, Nils and probably others you wonder why Levein didn't look to himself first when things were going wrong. Right now we've got Kisnorbo, Maybury, Hughes, Hume, and belatedly Tiatto playing far better than they did under Levein this season it cannot be coincidence. Kelly said some time ago that he had tried to relax the atmosphere a bit and that was some understatement... The work ethic hasn't disappeared but everyone's working with a smile now and I don't know about others but it's just great anticipating the matches now instead of trudging up the steps thinking what sort of dross are we going to get today.
Leicester City Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 I like Iain Hume. Are you Avril's dad?
Ric Flair Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 Are you Avril's dad? Or Craig Levein's dyslexic dad?

Agreed, there seems to be alot more purpose to our play, and the players look alot more natural!! May Hume's success continue!!!
Leicester City Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 Or Craig Levein's dyslexic dad? How can you not know how to spell Levein?
C-man Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 I get the feeling he didn't get on with Levein at all. I heard he called Levein a twat
Cobbo Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 I heard he called Levein a twat Noooo, you miss heard, he asked to look at his twat.
Bert Posted 22 February 2006 Author Posted 22 February 2006 Noooo, you miss heard, he asked to look at his twat. Only Mark De Vries got that treatment though.
