Leicester Lass Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 Chambers On The Spot In England Win Leicester City Academy striker Ashley Chambers was on the scoresheet in England U16s 2-1 victory over Belgium on Wednesday. Chambers, who made his first team debut for the Foxes in their Carling Cup win over Blackpool earlier in the season at the tender age of 15, scored from the penalty spot to level the game up after the hosts had taken the lead. Arsenal's Henri Lansbury grabbed the winner, meaning that England go into the Montaigu Tournament in France in April, where they will be up against China, Tunisia and the hosts France, in fine form. Leicester defender Joe Mattock was also included in the starting line up for the game, giving City cause for a double celebration. Both Mattock and Chambers have been regulars in the England under 16 side this season.

Chimp Posted 23 February 2006 Posted 23 February 2006 Good job Chambo! Pity we don't see him on here anymore.
Benji Posted 23 February 2006 Posted 23 February 2006 I'm happy Hume and Fryatt are on form, gives this young lad the time he needs to develop and not be chucked into the deep end expected to produce.
Ric Flair Posted 23 February 2006 Posted 23 February 2006 He's back amongst the goals again. That's 3 goals in just over a week for him at various levels, the boy is back in town. Well Belgium to be precise.
Finnegan Posted 23 February 2006 Posted 23 February 2006 The next five or six years look like they could be bright for us if all these lads develope. Makes a change to the Leicester that never seemed to establish much of it's own talent.
XFS Posted 23 February 2006 Posted 23 February 2006 Hate to be the bringer of bad news..... but Chambers DIDNT score the penalty last night. It was another player who looks similar. Oh well it was great for him and Joe to be there!
