Phube Posted 24 March 2006 Share Posted 24 March 2006 Just thinking with Wigan in the Prem and doing well, and Reading going up this year. It must be really peeing off the Premiership bosses with 'big' cubs like Leeds in the Champioship. So the question is who do you think should be in the 'Perfect Prem', bearing in mind sponsors etc.? Mine would be: Man U Man City Arse Chelsea West Ham Leeds Newcastle Leicester (of course) Everton Villa Brum Spurs Sunderland Wolves Derby F****t Wednesday Southampton Middlesborough Sheff U All could get around 30,000 gates if doing quite well. But it's quite hard to get to 20 'top' teams though!!

TrickyTrev Posted 24 March 2006 Share Posted 24 March 2006 Group 1 (Should always be in there) Chelsea Man U Arsenal Liverpool Group 2 (The second tier of English clubs that should spend the majority of their time in the top flight not even thinking of relegation but about Europe and trying to get into the top 4) Everton Spurs Newcastle Leeds Aston Villa West Ham Man City Groups 3 (Clubs who should expect to be in the bottom half of the premiership but spend sometime down in The Championship) Leicester Forrest Sunderland Shef Wed Southampton Middlesborugh Blackburn Crystal Palace Derby The following teams do not make it into my ideal premiership but should expect to interchange with group 3 fairly reguarly but spending slightly less time in the premiership than they do the Championship) Group 4 Bolton Charlton West Brom Birmingham Wolves Coventry Sheffield Utd Ipswich Blackburn and Middlesborugh are like Fulham, Wigan and Pompey in that they have an inflated status in comparison to their fan base. I have included those two clubs in my list as I think Blackburn are historically an important club and Middlesborough have the potential of a massive fanbase and I get the feeling that they are hear to stay. The other three clubs will go in steep decline as soon as their sugar daddy's get bored.

Teams like Wimbledon struggled to get 15,000 when playing ManU in the Prem??

Finnegan Posted 25 March 2006 Share Posted 25 March 2006 Celtic Rangers Hearts Hibs Swansea Cardiff Liverpool Man Utd Arsenal Chelsea Tottenham Bolton Wigan West Ham Everton Man City Newcastle Charlton Fulham Leicester Basically, top Scots, top Welsh and top English teams (and Leicester.) I was gunna do it split equally between the SPL, Prem and Welsh teams but then I thought realistically - even if you give them a couple of seasons to improve - no one except Swansea, Cardiff, Hibs, Hearts and the Old Firm would even get NEAR a decent competitive level. Lemon Harpic Posted 26 March 2006 Share Posted 26 March 2006 :thmbdwn: In terms of fanbase and attendance, both Dirty Leeds and the Blades are bigger clubs than the likes of Fulham, Hearts, Hibs, Swansea, Cardiff, Bolton, Wigan and Charlton. Although it could be argued that if Cardiff made it to the Premiership their thus far unimpressive gates would increase to a competitive level, I left them out because it's all speculation and so far Cardiff have only ever been a small club.
