Lineker's Left Foot Posted 3 May 2006 Posted 3 May 2006 My girlfriend is a huge Chelsea fan and when they visit Stamford Bridge, the Chelski fans sing ... "We all follow the Chelsea, Over land and sea... AND LEICESTER" !! Heard it during the Blackburn game last night?? Why do they sing about us ??? AND CHELSEA" !!
SystonFox Posted 3 May 2006 Posted 3 May 2006 something to do with riots during the 70's/ 80's between the 2 clubs around London and it apparently brought the 2 sets of fans together. sure i heard this, could be a dream though.

Deathside Posted 5 May 2006 Posted 5 May 2006 Story I heard (many years back) was that because Leicester have no immediate local rivals - some clubs felt sorry for us and started tagging And Leicester onto some of their hate songs - In the style of We hate Bradford City, we hate Bradford too, and Leicester Mostly it was clubs from lower leagues True or not? - I have no idea PS I am currently a closet Bradford fan due to their crucial role in deciding the outcome of the League 1 play-offs contenders tomorrow
SystonFox Posted 5 May 2006 Posted 5 May 2006 theres no shame in being a bradford city fan tomorrow mate. i hope forest get stuffed and half of nottingham is crying. the other half celebrating after keeping County in the football league
Lemon Harpic Posted 5 May 2006 Posted 5 May 2006 Apparently, Chelsea fans added the 'And Leicester' bit on during a 7-0 to Forest at the City Ground in 1991. Dunno why, though.
Syko Posted 6 May 2006 Posted 6 May 2006 I was told that it was sumet to do with racisim i dunno but that would seem silly as Lovejoy always says And Leicester
Stevosevic Posted 6 May 2006 Posted 6 May 2006 I was told that it was sumet to do with racisim i dunno but that would seem silly as Lovejoy always says And Leicester i have never heard him say this, do you have an example of when he normally does?
1884 Posted 6 May 2006 Posted 6 May 2006 i have never heard him say this, do you have an example of when he normally does? he used to say it when we were good
Deathside Posted 6 May 2006 Posted 6 May 2006 i have never heard him say this, do you have an example of when he normally does? And Leicester was the standard name for Leicester in the fixtures EG: Charlton verses And Leicester
Stevosevic Posted 6 May 2006 Posted 6 May 2006 And Leicester was the standard name for Leicester in the fixtures EG: Charlton verses And Leicester o ok, chears
Knighton Matt Posted 6 May 2006 Posted 6 May 2006 Sometimes I feel like I'm living on a different planet just because I don't have Sky...
john_lcfc Posted 6 May 2006 Posted 6 May 2006 sky is a must have.. we have now had 3 reasons for them singing about us. 1) they felt sorry for us 2) sign on the m1 "the north and leicester" 3) trouble between the 2 sets of fans in the 80s ie leicester taking the shed them taking the kop or something. which is the truth?
Teeno Posted 7 May 2006 Posted 7 May 2006 something to do with riots during the 70's/ 80's between the 2 clubs around London and it apparently brought the 2 sets of fans together. sure i heard this, could be a dream though. That's pretty much it. One boxing day 'the Leicester Mob' to kethe Shed at Stamford bridge, apparently there weren't many Leicester but because of their success the Chelsea mob had a lot of respect for us and that's why we're included in some of their songs. Same story as why we sing Hark now here.

I still HATE EM even before Abramovich came in cos of THAT penalty in 1996 FA Cup Quarter-Final that SHOULDN'T have been given. Arsenal Fans sing the same song as well. Apparantly it was sort of dig at Filbert Street meaning it was a bit rubbish!
Cobbo Posted 8 May 2006 Posted 8 May 2006 They have been sinigng about us since 1872 when we beat them 37-1. 1-0 down after 30 seconds, we bounced back in the second half. They hate us.
Jimmy Posted 11 May 2006 Posted 11 May 2006 Hardly ever sang now!! ah well.... Hark now here the Leicester sing, 'cos Chelsea ran awaaaay, And we will fight forver more, Because of boxing day!! to be fair it would be a bit strange to sing it aprat from around christmas
