Katy Posted 8 June 2006 Posted 8 June 2006 Cue the next wave of bombings...... Indeed will it ever end?
Steven Posted 8 June 2006 Posted 8 June 2006 Good. BBC News He was supposed to have died 3 years ago before he mysteriously reappeared. He is used to frighten people with, without us really ever knowing whether he is/was alive or dead.
Guest Posted 8 June 2006 Posted 8 June 2006 I know I'll be on my own here, but I find it sad that one man can behave in such a way many want him dead, and I also find it sad to hear people saying that they wanted another human being dead. One of being the political leader of my country. Don't get me wrong, I have no sympathy for the bloke, you reap what you sow and all that, but I find the situation sad, that's all.
Thracian Posted 8 June 2006 Posted 8 June 2006 He was supposed to have died 3 years ago before he mysteriously reappeared. He is used to frighten people with, without us really ever knowing whether he is/was alive or dead. Perhaps he couldn't cope with the 40 Virgins.
Cat Burger Posted 8 June 2006 Posted 8 June 2006 Deserved to die, but a lot of people seem jubilant over it. It's just wrong.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 8 June 2006 Posted 8 June 2006 Good one piece of scum off this earth, I hope he burns in h*ll for what he has caused. That is one step to global peace as far as I'm concerned !!!
Guest Posted 8 June 2006 Posted 8 June 2006 Kill everyone, that'll sort the issue out once and for all.
stez Posted 8 June 2006 Posted 8 June 2006 Kill everyone, that'll sort the issue out once and for all. yeah i'm with you leece. who shall we start with? john taylor off of duran duran? i've always hated him! on topic though, i've never agreed with the death penalty, but this is a supposed war so he was fair game i guess
Benji Posted 8 June 2006 Posted 8 June 2006 Kill everyone, that'll sort the issue out once and for all. Jokes apart, how close do you reckon birth rate and death rate (through suicide bombings, American bombings, other war related deaths) are related in Iraq? If it carries on hen give it time and Bush will just be aiming at empty soil!
Nationwider Posted 8 June 2006 Author Posted 8 June 2006 I'm not one for dancing on graves, believe me. I don't suppose he thought he'd see out his dotage in a retirement home in Eastbourne either. He was a high-profile, frankly evil man whom most people will be better off without. Others might point that accusation at certain Western leaders. But that's for another thread.
Deathside Posted 9 June 2006 Posted 9 June 2006 yeah i'm with you leece. who shall we start with? john taylor off of duran duran? i've always hated him! on topic though, i've never agreed with the death penalty, but this is a supposed war so he was fair game i guess I'm certainly not a supporter of death penalties, however here in Singapore they have an insanely strict legal system - Death for drug dealers, murderers etc and whippings for other offences The whip is said to cut to the bone and you still feel the pain for up to 6 years after (Grafiti carries a sentance of 6-8 whips) Suffice to say there is virtually zero crime here - I've never been to such a safe place - Due to the heat Jeans & T-shirt is the most you ever wear outdoors - everyone keeps wallets in back pockets - When you sit at street cafés it's quite safe to leave your phone, camera etc out on the table - even when you leave them unattended no one touches Also chewing gum is banned - it's amazing how clean the place is It's certainly food for thought - The complete and utter lack of chavs is so refreshing

Yet again you talk a lot of sense.

I always thought a war involved two sides that wanted a fight.
stez Posted 9 June 2006 Posted 9 June 2006 Since when has an invasion been a war. I always thought a war involved two sides that wanted a fight. we've never stopped having a scuffle with the iraqi' s since saddam invaded kuwait in 1990. operation desert fox was one example in 1995, i think, plus we've been petrolling the 'no fly zones' since 1990/1. going in to remove sadam is what most people wanted in 1990/1 but george bush snr (apparently) bottled it. besides it's apparently part of the 'war against terror'
Katy Posted 9 June 2006 Posted 9 June 2006 Yes Lisa it is sad to want another human being dead, but if you think about what this one person sanctioned (the beheading of Ken Bigley for example) and the death of many others, he got his just deserts. I dont always agree with the phrase an eye for an eye etc but on this occasion he did indeed reap what he had sewn.

Deathside Posted 9 June 2006 Posted 9 June 2006 how much would a small bolt hole cost me? i like the sound of the place Property and cars are both very expensive here - Although petrol is about 55p / litre I'm told And the first bar I went into charged Sing$14 for a pint of Tiger - According to XL.com that's £4:77 a pint

I'm sick and tired of USA being able to bend the rules to their advantage, and the worst part is we assist them in it in the hope of getting a slice of the cake! All while preaching to live our lives in a morally right way... In an exaggerated way, I do like Lisa's idea of killing everyone. It would solve the problem, wouldn't it? Seriously though, I too was absolutely shocked last evening when hearing the news. I have NEVER seen the news media here in Denmark hail and jubilate the (supposed) death of someone, and even if it is a very evil man like al-Zarqawi, it is just not right.
