Luke_Leicester_Lad Posted 24 June 2006 Posted 24 June 2006 is tokyo drift not any good then?? i wanted to see it but wont bother if its crap
shen Posted 24 June 2006 Posted 24 June 2006 i think the fast and furious films are bollocks Seconded... But then again, aren't all action films bollocks?
MC Prussian Posted 24 June 2006 Posted 24 June 2006 It's become a franchise thing. Be warned: "The Fast & The Furious: Kapstadt Killers" is up next.
Libertine Posted 24 June 2006 Posted 24 June 2006 Lame. What's so interesting about cars going fast and smashing into eachother?
Ultra Posted 24 June 2006 Posted 24 June 2006 Is there anyone left in the country with any taste??? There is, but such folks are either at home or at the pub watching the World Cup! They're too busy to spend time at the picture right now..
Phube Posted 25 June 2006 Author Posted 25 June 2006 is tokyo drift not any good then?? i wanted to see it but wont bother if its crap Please don't let my tirade put you off, if you really liked the first two, then go and see it (even Empire says it's the best of the three!!) I've never seen any of them, but as Libertine says, I just don't get the franchise myself?? Souped up chav cars and Vin Diesel just don't do it for me!!!
Alexikokopops Posted 25 June 2006 Posted 25 June 2006 Lets not beat around the bush, just the concept of a film based on drifting around corners is bound to be about as enjoyable as a hat full of assholes.
Durnerz Posted 25 June 2006 Posted 25 June 2006 Tokyo Drift is a great film. Went to see it on Thursday and it was class, much better than The Fast and the Furious 2. Depends on what you like really.
Jay Posted 25 June 2006 Posted 25 June 2006 not my sort of film but each to their own if we all liked exactly the same things it would be a very boring world
Deathside Posted 25 June 2006 Posted 25 June 2006 I haven't seen any of the films but I'm told there's a pink Honda S2000 in one - So I should check that out?
Guest Posted 25 June 2006 Posted 25 June 2006 Lame. What's so interesting about cars going fast and smashing into eachother? You could go to the stock cars and watch real cars if you really wanted to.
Head Honcho Posted 25 June 2006 Posted 25 June 2006 No, not the hooligans in Stuttgart!! The fact that Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift is at No. 1 in the UK Cinema charts!!! Is there anyone left in the country with any taste??? By all accounts there were no known hooligans arrested! All of the people arrested last night have been released without charge. Overall I think the police did a good job, they needed to make arrests to disperse the two sets of fans and if a few innocent fans got caught up in it, well thats life!
Rincewind Posted 25 June 2006 Posted 25 June 2006 From what I heard it was a co-ordinated plan to weed out and seperate known troublemakers from the rest of the fans British police intellegence (?) were in constant communication with their German counterparts. It seems the German fans started it (enter John Cleese) and as usual the English mentality could not keep out of it. Not seen any of the mentioned films but action films do serve a purpose. They require little intellegence to understand the thin storyline and plot. While watching it your mind can wander on more important things like who's going to be the next one to be thrown out in Big Brother. the other types of films are reserved for the Canne Film Festeval when over-dressed film critics can rave about the latest film that contains subtitles. Each to their own I suppose darling.
Parsons Posted 25 June 2006 Posted 25 June 2006 Seconded... But then again, aren't all action films bollocks? true

It seems the German fans started it (enter John Cleese) and as usual the English mentality could not keep out of it. The German fans did indeed start the trouble but the catalyst for their anger was the incessant 2 world wars and 1 world cup chanting from the England fans who can't seem to forget that they were'nt even born when the latter happened-Fvcking morons!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 June 2006 Posted 26 June 2006 I was a bit disappointed to see the guy from Friday Night Lights and Jarhead is in this.
Cobbo Posted 26 June 2006 Posted 26 June 2006 God what a shite triplet of films. I would happily shoot them into space along with shitty flat pack furniture.
