Guest Posted 6 July 2006 Posted 6 July 2006 Does this sound like anyone you know? "Clever" is the word that perhaps describes ENTPs best. The professor who juggles half a dozen ideas for research papers and grant proposals in his mind while giving a highly entertaining lecture on an abstruse subject is a classic example of the type. So is the stand-up comedian whose lampoons are not only funny, but incisively accurate. ENTPs are usually verbally as well as cerebrally quick, and generally love to argue--both for its own sake, and to show off their often-impressive skills. They tend to have a perverse sense of humor as well, and enjoy playing devil's advocate. They sometimes confuse, even inadvertently hurt, those who don't understand or accept the concept of argument as a sport. ENTPs are as innovative and ingenious at problem-solving as they are at verbal gymnastics; on occasion, however, they manage to outsmart themselves. This can take the form of getting found out at "sharp practice"--ENTPs have been known to cut corners without regard to the rules if it's expedient -- or simply in the collapse of an over-ambitious juggling act. Both at work and at home, ENTPs are very fond of "toys"--physical or intellectual, the more sophisticated the better. They tend to tire of these quickly, however, and move on to new ones. ENTPs are basically optimists, but in spite of this (perhaps because of it?), they tend to become extremely petulant about small setbacks and inconveniences. (Major setbacks they tend to regard as challenges, and tackle with determin- ation.) ENTPs have little patience with those they consider wrongheaded or unintelligent, and show little restraint in demonstrating this. However, they do tend to be extremely genial, if not charming, when not being harassed by life in general. In terms of their relationships with others, ENTPs are capable of bonding very closely and, initially, suddenly, with their loved ones. Some appear to be deceptively offhand with their nearest and dearest; others are so demonstrative that they succeed in shocking co-workers who've only seen their professional side. ENTPs are also good at acquiring friends who are as clever and entertaining as they are. Aside from those two areas, ENTPs tend to be oblivious of the rest of humanity, except as an audience -- good, bad, or potential. Take the test here....
Nationwider Posted 6 July 2006 Posted 6 July 2006 ISTP The career suggestions hit the nail on the head. I had a performance management thingy today at work - a lot of the feedback, constructive or otherwise, was reflected in my Keirsey "template". Really interesting stuff.
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 7 July 2006 Posted 7 July 2006 Haha, marvellous! ENTJ. Interesting that it pinned me as a judger and an analyser but not a perceiver. I've always been a loud bastard with a difficulty in relating to the introverted way of thinking. Fieldmarshall eh? I'll give that a shot!
davieG Posted 7 July 2006 Posted 7 July 2006 ENFJ The picture at the bottom left corner is that the LCFC badge in there, I recognise quite a few people as well.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 7 July 2006 Posted 7 July 2006 76. You have better things to do than answer 75 bloody questions! I normally like these things but this one takes aaaaaaaaaaages. INFJ.

Thracian Posted 7 July 2006 Posted 7 July 2006 Many of the questions seemed like virtual repeats to me and if it was academically devised I would say it was hardly likely to be anything more than a bit of curious fun considering the truthful answer to some of the questions would more likely have been "sometimes" rather than "yes" or "no". It is like any kind of survey really - a logical conclusion is only likely if the analyst has accurate data in the first place and then the wisdom to begin a thought process which avoids imparting some assumptious, mistaken or illogical analysis of his/her! own along the way. Questions there may be, but the older I get the more I believe there are very few incontestible answers. Apart from Ronaldo being a shit

Guest Posted 8 July 2006 Posted 8 July 2006 Fair enough, it's only a bit of fun to pass the time until the season starts.
Cobbo Posted 8 July 2006 Posted 8 July 2006 ENFJs are the benevolent 'pedagogues' of humanity. They have tremendous charisma by which many are drawn into their nurturant tutelage and/or grand schemes. Many ENFJs have tremendous power to manipulate others with their phenomenal interpersonal skills and unique salesmanship. But it's usually not meant as manipulation -- ENFJs generally believe in their dreams, and see themselves as helpers and enablers, which they usually are. ENFJs are global learners. They see the big picture. The ENFJs focus is expansive. Some can juggle an amazing number of responsibilities or projects simultaneously. Many ENFJs have tremendous entrepreneurial ability. ENFJs are, by definition, Js, with whom we associate organization and decisiveness. But they don't resemble the SJs or even the NTJs in organization of the environment nor occasional recalcitrance. ENFJs are organized in the arena of interpersonal affairs. Their offices may or may not be cluttered, but their conclusions (reached through feelings) about people and motives are drawn much more quickly and are more resilient than those of their NFP counterparts. ENFJs know and appreciate people. Like most NFs, (and Feelers in general), they are apt to neglect themselves and their own needs for the needs of others. They have thinner psychological boundaries than most, and are at risk for being hurt or even abused by less sensitive people. ENFJs often take on more of the burdens of others than they can bear. TRADEMARK: "The first shall be last" This refers to the open-door policy of ENFJs. One ENFJ colleague always welcomes me into his office regardless of his own circumstances. If another person comes to the door, he allows them to interrupt our conversation with their need. While discussing that need, the phone rings and he stops to answer it. Others drop in with a 'quick question.' I finally get up, go to my office and use the call waiting feature on the telephone. When he hangs up, I have his undivided attention! Tis me, apparently.
Guest Posted 8 July 2006 Posted 8 July 2006 ...it missed out You are: * easily taken in by online assessments Both of us are Aries and ENTP's. Purely coincidence, surely?
