Moving the Kop

Recommended Posts

I am going to switch allegiances to Skenderbeu Korca. What a name. Almost as good as Mysterious Dwarves (Ghana) or Eleven Men In Flight (Swaziland).

You get added respect because they finished bottom.

It's like when you meet someone from abroad and they support Hull City or Rotherham United or Carlisle United or something.

We should all do something to get the club to move the Kop it was the orginal reason i joined this forum to see what people thought ages ago but still nothing happens!

sod it i stand where people sing anyway next to the away fans but we should have a main end that sings!!!!

you lot with names on the back of your new city shirts who want to sing but wont sitting down the other end of the ground to the away fans in a stand named "kop" ooo i sit in the kop NO YOU DONT!

you should sing up or shut up cos your not putting and pressure on the club to get it changed where we can all Sit and stand and make noise together like Coventry away!

It would be a much better atmosphere and when i take my kids down i dont want to be seated next to the away fans!

The Club is guttless on this issue and it is the one thing that really makes me mad

It's one of the things that makes going to the footy enjoyable and adds to the match day experiance, the fact the atmosphere is so bad is why I don't go at the moment, if you try and sing people just look at you gone out.

Theres more atmosphere down coalville town :huh:lol

yes away fan banter does make for a good atmosphere, but if people get together and try and create an atmosphere it can be done. for example last seasons last game against plymouth at home. dull as dishwater game but in the last 20 mins and after the game it was non stop singing in the kop. a few other games such as derby home, cov home, leeds home, sheff utd home and wolves at home were all fantastic atmospheres in the kop. if you wanna sit near away fans though go down the family stand or L1 and have some fun.

Thats because generations of Scousers have stood then sat in that kop ever since Anfield was built. Its not a new ground i stand in L1 and i cant hear what the kop is singing and that is just embarrassing it really is, whereas you can hear Liverpool's kop singing as one from the away end.

Liverpool manage, we dont! i wouldnt care a toss if i could hear our kop singing from L1 i cant! I support Leicester and want us to have a loud good home support like we did at Filbert Street not this shite we have now

Here's a CRAZY idea!!! What if all the singers (thugs) from L1 came and sat in the 'Kop' again, then you'd be able to hear the 'Kop' as you'd be in it!! And it would be twice as loud as it only take a few hundred prepared to sing to get the whole end going. At the mo' our, say 500 strong, really enthusiastic singer are split into two areas!!!

Quite simple really!!!

Liverpool and Arsenal (well not sure anymore) and Newcastle and many other teams the position of the Kop is a poor excuse for lack of atmosphere imo most clubs have their main away end opposite the away fans!!

The only reason imo for the poor atmosphere over the last few seasons is the rubbish we have been forced to endure on the pitch during the promotion season the atmosphere was pretty special on many occasions

Plus Liverpool are getting 20,000 fans a week more than us and they have more success.

leicester fans are a bunch of moaning minnies who couldn't raise a loud chant for more than 3 seconds if we won the champions league  ..................................gauntlet thrown down

Not a problem at the mo' seems that's probs not gonna happen soon

The main problem with the lack of atmosphere is the lack of success on the pitch. We can keep complaining what a craphole the ground is because it's new and plastic but everyone was moaning for years what a Toilet Filbert St was and now its not there we want to go back. The atmosphere wasn't always that good. I've been to games when the ground was half empty and there was very little to get excited about. What about the First season at the Walkers the atmosphere was electric and we had full houses. OH i forgot we were winning most weeks, just like the Little and O'neill years at Filbert St.

If fans feel so strongly about this they should boycott games to ram home the message that there not happy about the atmosphere but then again that will achieve jacks**t because the club will make no money and get further into debt.

Alternatively the team needs to start playing more attractive football or start winning games on a more consistent basis. Then you'll get more bums on seats simple. Unlike some on this forum who think the Walkers is shit. I love it and i believe the good times will come back but when thats another question.

the kop has to be moved the situation is shit at the moment- fact and if you think that we have had a "fantastic atmosphere" in there then well no.

my sig is all for this move i hate this L1 v kop stuff and we should be together as 1 next to the away fans because it makes a better atmosphere for our fans.

liverpool have 2 billion supporters to make an atmosphere in there huge ground we have about 19,000 at our shitty plastic bowl. out of them i reckon 700 max sing consistently.. they have to be together otherwise the shit we have continues.. rant over

It doesnt have to be like that, L1ers seem to have an unwarranted superiority complex for some reason

It's all relative!! Liverpool have a bigger ground, and closed corners - not condusive for carrying sound!! The only difference is the fact that ALL their singer sit in one place, and actually watch the game!! :o (i.e. they don't spend their time trying to start a fight with the opposition fans!! Crazy!!!)

Here we go again....

A long time ago, the banter was good. There was a lot of spontaneity among the fans, it was funny.

Nowadays, we have the amazing "small town in <insert local rivals>" and "what's it like to shag yer mam" chants. Is it any wonder that some people want to sit at the other end of the stadium?

It's not just here, all clubs have a section who sing the same at us when we go away. No originality any more.
