Huh  That's a daily Mail picture. I bet the cover looks nothing like that.

:giggle:

if it was in the Grauniad it would probably be something like , "The Last Dairies of A Drain Mole"

Any recommended funny and cheap books around that could be bought from Tesco??

Talking about max £10 :)

Look in places like HMV if you can. I went in there today and you can get Charlie Brooker's Dawn of the Dumb and Screen Burn for £3 each. They've got loads of books for quite cheap.

Speaking of which I bought the complete Maus (not a book per se but still) and the Damned United (which I've been meaning to read for months) today. Lovely stuff.

Dont really get many funny books from tesco, just the generic books that everywhere sells. Best off using amazon, the used section. The books are always in great nick and can normally get them for £2.76 including the delivery.

Try: Apathy and other small victories, Paul Neilan

The Contortionists Handbook, Craig Clevenger

J-Pod, Douglas Coupland (anything by him really)

Why tesco, do you have a voucher?

if not, ebay is where it's at of course....

and what's your idea of funny - i'd say kingsley amis if you're talking novels, or are you after some kind of 'humour' book...

specifics, man, specifics!

Sorry for lack of specifics!

By funny I mean humour, as you say, as opposed to funny novels. Basically some kind of book with no serious strings attached, and someone who basically doesn't care about a thing.

And Tesco because I work directly opposite there on Saturdays and don't get much time to shop around during the week because of school.

If you want something that has a bit more of a story to it (but isn't a novel) buy Yes Man by Danny Wallace. One of my favourite books. Gets me laughing out loud every time I read it.

I didnt know you could read?

How would i be able to reply to your sarcastic comments if i couldn't read?

Thats not what I asked now was it? A simple yes or no would of been adequate.

I second this, its both funny and nice.

Right now however, I'm reading Brave New World by Aldous Huxley which doesn't meet those requirements at all. Its rather good, though.

I don't read many books but this is an incredible read based on a true story. It is a marvelous read over 900 pages longest i've ever tackled but you are glad it is long cos you never want to put it down as there is always something happening. I would recomend this to anyone, hope the movie is just as good.

The same guy wrote the film adaptation, it is set for release in 2011 with Johnny depp to be the lead. I think it will work but the book is always better.
