James. Posted 29 April 2009 Posted 29 April 2009 I'm reading this: Have read a lot of his stuff beforehand and I love him. This is obviously very different but still well worth a read particularly if you're in to running. He ran an ultramarathon - 62 miles. Without stopping. Nutter.

Occassionally they can get a bit heavy for a few chapters but thats more due to his intellect and me being a bit thick i reckon. Think you'll find that most of the books on previous pages will tick a couple of the boxes everytime

Lillehamring Posted 13 July 2009 Posted 13 July 2009 finished re-reading \\\'london fields\\\' by Martin Amis, probably the best novel of the last 25 years as far as i am concerned. currently thoroughly enjoying this: whilst sneakily started: don\\\'t care about the controverssy, this is a well written book
James. Posted 13 July 2009 Posted 13 July 2009 A Million Little Pieces is fantastic. Absolutely gripping and beautifully written. I've never actually read any Martin Amis but I get the impression he's considered massively pretentious..? Currently, and for the forseeable future, I am reading this: It's bloody massive but I'm loving it.
