filbertway Posted 22 October 2006 Posted 22 October 2006 I thought RiseDale was going there as well I don't get it?
Tommeh Posted 22 October 2006 Posted 22 October 2006 Ridsdale has gone Cardiff. Can't think why Milan would want to anyway we have a much greater fans base much better stadium. Plus milan wants a challenge with the club he buys and Cardiff already seem although they'll be promoted this season.
Daggers Posted 22 October 2006 Posted 22 October 2006 Milan got a new book for his birthday and is no longer interested in football
Louise Posted 22 October 2006 Posted 22 October 2006 What Milan has to say about the Cardiff link: Mandaric: This has nothing to do with meOct 22 2006 MILAN MANDARIC, the man who was linked with a consortium taking over Cardiff City, last night denied he was poised to pump money into the Ninian Park club. The former Portsmouth chairman was the name on every supporter's lips after it became clear City owner Sam Hammam was on the verge of relinquishing control of the club he bought six years ago. While Peter Ridsdale is set to be confirmed as the new chairman at Ninian Park this week, Serbian millionaire Mandaric had been heavily linked with either buying the club outright or obtaining a large stake. Some fans claimed on a radio phone-in that he had sat alongside Hammam at Carrow Road yesterday to watch Cardiff's 1-0 defeat at Norwich. But the 65-year-old, speaking exclusively to Wales on Sunday last night, insisted he was miles away at STAMFORD BRIDGE yesterday. He told us: "I was watching Portsmouth play Chelsea and I have no interest at all in investing in Cardiff. "Respect to them because they are a great club with good people, but I am not interested. Of course I want to get back into football but it is the wrong information to say I want to invest in them." Mandaric has been out of the game since he sold his final share in Portsmouth to Alexandre Gaydamak for £32m and resigned as chairman last month. He bought the south coast side in 1998 and within four years took them into the Premiership. Millionaire Mandaric - who last month denied rumours of a £15m takeover of Championship club Wolves - made an estimated £50m selling Portsmouth to Gaydamak. But the Serb tycoon stated his intention for an immediate return to British football and he recently declared a '50/50 chance' of him buying Championship club Leicester City. Mandaric brought Portsmouth out of administration when he took over in 1998 and within four years took them into the Premiership. Mandaric left his home-land of Yugoslavia for the United States in 1969 as the communist dictatorship thought his mass-producing car spares company had become too successful. In 1976, he became a naturalized US citizen. Hammam is expected to move aside for the new consortium and become a honorary president at Ninian Park, much like Doug Ellis has done at Premiership club Aston Villa Mandaric, though, will not be Cardiff's Randy Lerner, it appears. http://icwales.icnetwork.co.uk/0600soccer/...-name_page.html Certainly denied those rumours quickly, *grabs straws* he hasn't said anything remotely as strong about us. Also, looks like he's back in the country then.

Back in the country, looking for an immediate return to British football, strongly denied being about to help Cardiff, dismissed Wolves rumours, 50/50 chance of buying us and has made a 50million quid profit selling Portsmouth... Should we crack open the bubbly and start celebrating??

Fez of Mahrez Posted 22 October 2006 Posted 22 October 2006 I think you're veering wildly off the course of idle conjecture into the dangerous territory of fact-based information Louise. Stick to the topic please. I heard Milan Mandaric only went to the Chelsea game to watch prospective signings for us...

lcfc_jme Posted 22 October 2006 Posted 22 October 2006 Don't be silly. The champagne is for my spectacular return. And which spectacular return would this be?? Answers on a postcard I think you're veering wildly off the course of idle conjecture into the dangerous territory of fact-based information Louise. Stick to the topic please. I heard Milan Mandaric only went to the Chelsea game to watch prospective signings for us... T'is true, I heard of the same thing myself. I also hear he's in Madrid tonight to strike a deal with Barcelona about sending reserve and promising youth players to us in order to gain experience

I'm not helping, either, am I? I have no idea what you mean. I don't scour the internet searching for any bit of information on Milan Mandaric that I can get my hands onto, dream about him at night or call out 'MILAN' in my sleep...

I don't scour the internet searching for any bit of information on Milan Mandaric that I can get my hands onto, dream about him at night or call out 'MILAN' in my sleep... HaHa. Is he there with Ian Walker and Muzzy Izzet - who he will bring back to the club as coaches, just for you?
Daggers Posted 22 October 2006 Posted 22 October 2006 I heard Milan Mandaric only went to the Chelsea game to watch prospective signings for us... He was looking at kit colours with a view to making ours bluer.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 22 October 2006 Posted 22 October 2006 He was looking at kit colours with a view to making ours bluer. No, honestly, I read it on www.football-rumou......
Louise Posted 22 October 2006 Posted 22 October 2006 HaHa. Is he there with Ian Walker and Muzzy Izzet - who he will bring back to the club as coaches, just for you? Oh they could coach me, they could coach me good.... Anyway, Milan.... he's... coming then?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 22 October 2006 Posted 22 October 2006 Oh they could coach me, they could coach me good.... Anyway, Milan.... he's... coming then? I can categorically state that Milan Mandaric is definitely buying Leicester City Football Club. Shit, I forgot to add the "maybe". Bound to happen now.
Daggers Posted 22 October 2006 Posted 22 October 2006 I can be very clear when I do not say that Milan has not said that he did not want to buy us out times ten to the power of not.
Foxes_Trust Posted 22 October 2006 Posted 22 October 2006 Back in the country, looking for an immediate return to British football, strongly denied being about to help Cardiff, dismissed Wolves rumours, 50/50 chance of buying us and has made a 50million quid profit selling Portsmouth... Should we crack open the bubbly and start celebrating?? Well he has an impressive financial advisor behind him if he can turn his £20 million profit from the Pompey sale to £50 million inside 3 weeks
lcfc_jme Posted 22 October 2006 Posted 22 October 2006 Well he has an impressive financial advisor behind him if he can turn his £20 million profit from the Pompey sale to £50 million inside 3 weeks ermmm I don't know where I got £50million from, but I remember quoting an article on page 67 that says he got at least £32million from his remaining shares in Portsmouth when he sold them
lookwhaticando Posted 23 October 2006 Posted 23 October 2006 ermmm I don't know where I got £50million from, but I remember quoting an article on page 67 that says he got at least £32million from his remaining shares in Portsmouth when he sold them Capital Gains tax would have blown a chunk of that, surely?
lookwhaticando Posted 23 October 2006 Posted 23 October 2006 Oh they could coach me, they could coach me good.... Anyway, Milan.... he's... coming then? You'd be a midfield dynamo with the ability to become England's 2nd choice keeper just by changing shirt and putting some gloves on. Yes, Louise, Uncle Milan is on his way. Don't you worry about it any more.
lcfc_jme Posted 23 October 2006 Posted 23 October 2006 Capital Gains tax would have blown a chunk of that, surely? Dunno, I'm just quoting from an article posted by a FT user
Chrysalis Posted 23 October 2006 Posted 23 October 2006 foxes trust where is your source of info stating he only has 20 mill? 20 mill profit 30 mill spent would still mean he has 50 mill cash.
lookwhaticando Posted 23 October 2006 Posted 23 October 2006 Dunno, I'm just quoting from an article posted by a FT user Indeed, Louise's article does state 50m. When he sold his first chunk in Pompey, it was for about 20m quid (articles at the time stated). He sold the remaining stake for around 32m (articles stated at the time). So about 50m quid total. Of course, some of it would have been lost by some kind of capital gains tax (I'm assuming we have one!) Where's the 20m 'profit' come from, Foxes_Trust?
