Finnegan Posted 12 October 2006 Posted 12 October 2006 All depends on what we were before Kings of men!
Knighton Matt Posted 12 October 2006 Posted 12 October 2006 He hasn't got the power. Or the balls. *only one of those is true. Nnnnnnnnnnnnggggggghhhhhhhh.
Swedging Posted 12 October 2006 Posted 12 October 2006 You're forgetting this is the man who hired Zajec and Perrin as part of his management team. At one point they were 'in it together' and really cocked things up. Sure he didn't 'put up' with them for long - but he was stupid enough to appoint them. It was only thanks to Harry Redknapp and a shedload of cash that his blunder didn't relegate them. Gaydamak's cash.
Daggers Posted 12 October 2006 Posted 12 October 2006 He hasn't got the power. Or the balls. *only one of those is true. Yea, I agree, no balls. Less balls than Hitler. He'd never close this thread. I'd dare him to close it but I know he wouldn't, no balls you see.

But even before then, Portsmouth wouldn't be where they were today if it wasn't for Mandaric.
SystonFox Posted 12 October 2006 Posted 12 October 2006 the banners will be out on saturday. MANDARIC's BLUE N WHITE ARMY!!!?!!?!!!

Louise Posted 13 October 2006 Posted 13 October 2006 Interesting article here: Why does a successful man want to risk looking like a bloody fool? from The Times. Written just before Redknapp returned to Pompey. The whole thing is a good read but here's perhaps the most interesting extract: It was Mandaric’s desire to run Portsmouth well that led to the trouble with Redknapp. With Redknapp, Portsmouth had at last found some kind of success: promotion to the Premiership and a thirteenth-place finish. Now Mandaric wanted to consolidate and expand. Redknapp’s pragmatic method of plugging the gaps with wily old pros was not a long-term strategy. Mandaric wanted a youth policy, home-grown talent, a future. He wanted Portsmouth to be a club on a solid footing, not a hand-to-mouth hanger-on. Eager, even desperate to do the right thing, Mandaric has put £25 million into the club and a new stadium is planned. His is a volatile and generous nature and he is always ready to talk, even if every time he does so, he seems to be saying something slightly different. He is a loud and emotional man, and so, for that matter, is Redknapp. Redknapp, an adroit player of the “man o’ the people†card, won the sympathy, while Mandaric looked foolish. His plans for long-term development foundered. ... Football, like a torrent of water, has the knack of finding the weak place in all that it touches. The weak place in Mandaric is his determination to do the right thing. Football is not a kind mistress and those who fall for her must get accustomed to being led by the nose. And to looking a bloody fool.

Louise Posted 13 October 2006 Posted 13 October 2006 Hopefully might go a little way to calm the fears of some who think MM would forget about the youth team. Actually if he really is into the academy side then that's another thing in our favour. Not that he's coming of course...
lcfc_jme Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 Hopefully might go a little way to calm the fears of some who think MM would forget about the youth team. Actually if he really is into the academy side then that's another thing in our favour. Not that he's coming of course... This thread is bloody silly. I've posted quite excitedly in it a couple of times but it is getting to the point of stupid now. I'm dead suprised that, although it is football speculation about our club, a mod hasn't locked or closed it yet. I think the post that summed it up best came from Disco Bob (with another good one following it from TPH)... There has been no official word and this thread just keeps repeating itself: The majority say: "It'd be great if Mandaric came in. We'd like his cash so we could compete and bring in new players. I hope he buys us. We are a very attractive prospect" and so on and so forth... Then you get some people: "He'd bring in a rapist/pedo manager. His track record isn't that good anyway. Where would all this cash for transfers come from?? He isn't coming. You're all going to look stupid." etc etc repetitive boring mumbo-jumbo. The answer is simple: WAIT UNTIL SOMETHING OFFICIAL POPS UP, AS ALL OF THIS SPECULATION IS JUST GOING ROUND IN CIRCLES AT PRESENT, AND THE SAME THING MUST HAVE BEEN REPEATED 400 TIMES AT LEAST IN THIS THREAD (I'm posting in this thread 'cos I'm bored, the other ones are dead, it's late at night and I can't sleep.)
Swedging Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 This thread is bloody silly. I've posted quite excitedly in it a couple of times but it is getting to the point of stupid now. Oddly, your posts are becoming the most irritating thing in it. Why don't you stop reading it - or at least stop banging out those patronising hypocritical posts in which you tell everyone else to stop putting up boring and repetitive posts.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 Well I don't know about anyone else but I am a gibbering wreck of excitement. Since this thread started I have just curled myself into a ball in the corner of my bedroom and rocked back and forth chanting mantras to myself. I think some people are missing the point slightly.
Head Honcho Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 I am currently in Portsmouth so If I see Milan I'll point him in the right direction

Don't really give a flying fook mate, I'll post whatever I want on this thread within reason. I explained at the bottom of the post in question why I posted on it, and I also knew that people like you cannot handle it when you're patronised in some sort of way, yet you don't mind patronising people and talking sh!t to others on here. If you don't like my posts, put me on ignore or just don't read them. Don't think I recall you going off at others when they wanted this thread to die. Hmm I'm sorry let me join in with this wonderful thread 'cos I don't want you getting your knickers in a twist.
Jon the Hat Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 I think some people are missing the point slightly. Missing the point is half the fun! What is it by the way? Was it that thing on page 21? or 47?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 Ricey I worship you like a God and order twelve!!!!* *tomorrow**. **maybe.
Ricey Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 Ricey I worship you like a God and order twelve!!!!* *tomorrow**. **maybe. I've ordered 12 for you and taken the money out of your account, thanks mate
