Dr The Singh Posted 24 October 2006 Posted 24 October 2006 I'd not be upset if he did but I will put money on it that he doesn't. Thank god for that, the only thing keeping me going is MM taking over the club, whatever people say, i'm still clinging onto the faint chance of him taking over and taking this club somewhere!!!!
Tubes Posted 24 October 2006 Posted 24 October 2006 ive heard rumours that mr wilson is planning on selling up
Ric Flair Posted 24 October 2006 Posted 24 October 2006 Those of you who keep harping on about Mandaric *almost* getting Pompey relegated from the premiership, should consider the following. This club has managed to get relegated from the premiership a number of times... it also *almost* managed to get relegated from THIS shi tter of a division with the current board. If he took us up and then we got relegated, fair enough. It's better than the sh it we've had the last few years. Well said Hero.
Ric Flair Posted 24 October 2006 Posted 24 October 2006 ive heard rumours that mr wilson is planning on selling up Is he the majority shareholder? Selling to Milan?
The Don Posted 24 October 2006 Posted 24 October 2006 Is he the majority shareholder? Selling to Milan? I thought he gave most of the business to his son's?? Probably to get round inheritance tax- maybe don't know if you can do that

Louise Posted 24 October 2006 Posted 24 October 2006 The shareholder list is somewhere posted by the FT, top is Pukka Pies and someone else, if Mr Wilson refers to David Wilson, I don't think he has many shares at all.

That's a little out of date, too, I imagine that new chairman of ours should be in the list somewhere.

Doesn't sound alot, but if Mandaric starts with buying his and then moves on to buying the others?
lookwhaticando Posted 24 October 2006 Posted 24 October 2006 Doesn't sound alot, but if Mandaric starts with buying his and then moves on to buying the others? Just going straight to the board and offering to take all the club's shares in one go would be the cheaper option than going to individual shareholders, I'd have thought. Actually, I don't know... perhaps buying out a couple of shareholdings first, to get the foot in the door, would help with bargaining the final price. Exciting stuff.
lcfc_jme Posted 24 October 2006 Posted 24 October 2006 Exciting stuff. Maybe.. BUT WHEN IS IT EVER GOING TO HAPPEN?!?!?!?!?!?!
Surreal Madrid Posted 24 October 2006 Posted 24 October 2006 Doesn't sound alot, but if Mandaric starts with buying his and then moves on to buying the others? If he reaches 30% he has to buy the others out. However there may ( and I repeat may ) be in the club's memorandum and articles of association a provision that any transfer of shares has to be sanctioned by a majority of other shareholders. This is quite common in privately owned companies, which essentially LCFC is.

I'm sure I read it somewhere, but I am sure that if he reaches 90% he can force the other 10% to sell. Actually, it's all a bit academic, as at the moment there is a cap on an individual's shareholding.
Daggers Posted 25 October 2006 Posted 25 October 2006 Hey, let's not forget about Milan. Just because we put on a good show last night doesn't mean this thread has to slip off page one!
Fox in a Box Posted 25 October 2006 Posted 25 October 2006 I think Milan would have been impressed if he watched last nights display... Ahhhh this topic went onto the second page and into near oblivion! I've saved it!

Fez of Mahrez Posted 25 October 2006 Posted 25 October 2006 Apparently, Milan said 'your Mum is so ugly that the midwife slapped your Gran when she was born' He speaks the truth. I feel I can trust this man with my football club.

Nationwider Posted 26 October 2006 Posted 26 October 2006 Add him to the bunch of £250k's I wonder why he's done that then? It's hardly an all-out assault for control of the football club. Does he know something we don't? Craftily increasing his share before the big sell-off?
