Suffolk_fox Posted 24 October 2006 Posted 24 October 2006 City v Shrewsbury, FA Cup Quarter Final, Filbert Street. Mark Wallington hadn't missed a minute since God's Dog, and was my personal hero. But Chic Bates slammed into him at 1-0, and after letting in 2 goals, he came off. I cried, as did the lad who shared my milk crate (older fans would understand that!) But with the help of two outfield Goalies, we came back and won 5-2!
lookwhaticando Posted 24 October 2006 Posted 24 October 2006 Reminds me a bit of that bloke who committed suicide when Liverpool were losing 3-0 at half-time in the Euro final. Not only did he lose his life - he missed one of the very best comebacks in football history and probably the most historic moment in Liverpool's existence. Losing his life was nothing compared to missing the comeback! I had more faith in them than he did then, I was on holiday in Shaldon watching it on a 14" tele, The Mrs wanted to go out but I kept on insisting they would comeback, mind you I wasn't expecting them to win it. I watched the game at home, in it's entirity. I'm bloody glad I did. I thought the writing was on the wall at half-time. The way the Liverpool players trudged off the field, they looked crushed. I didn't think it was possible for a group of players who were so clearly devastated could even pick themselves up to give it a right good go. They did though, and the results were stunning. ------------- As for the beloved City, I don't think they've ever made my cry. Perhaps I'm just not as emotional as the rest of you (I'm not a true fan, I guess ) Watching events unfold against Wolves was pretty stomach-wrenching though. Still, I suppose it was to be expected - afterall, this was the city team that was notorious for folding like a cheap tent in the last 10 minutes.

Micky Posted 24 October 2006 Posted 24 October 2006 I cried with: Happiness - play off final vs Palace. never ever have I reacted like I did when super stevie stuck the ball in the net! Sadness - losing to Blackburn in the play-off final when speedie dived for the penalty. and to round it off as we were leaving wembley a big fat blackburn fan pulled a moony out the back of a supporters bus. a long bloody journey home that was! Sadness - losing 4-3 to newcatle after being 3-1 up. Gutted, absolutely gutted. Shearer bloody hat trick. though I did know after this game that we would be a force to be reckoned with in the premier.
lildave3 Posted 24 October 2006 Posted 24 October 2006 Closest i've came is at the promotion celebrations after the Brighton match under MA.
sackmycook Posted 24 October 2006 Posted 24 October 2006 Nearly today after all that's been going on theres plenty of time for that left.

syston_fox Posted 24 October 2006 Posted 24 October 2006 Very nearly tonight!! I shed a tear of pride at the Man Utd game in 2002 at Filbo and also at that final whistle game at Filbert Street when the whole crowd linked arms and sang, and the then the flood lights went off for the final time.
Ultra Posted 24 October 2006 Posted 24 October 2006 Sadness - losing 4-3 to newcatle after being 3-1 up. Gutted, absolutely gutted. Shearer bloody hat trick. though I did know after this game that we would be a force to be reckoned with in the premier. I was at that game. I felt gutted but I didn't cry (which was more than the geordies would have done if THEY had been on the receiving end.. ). I knew that within months I would see MY team lift a trophy, a privilege which many of my tormentors that day have still to enjoy...
OzFox311 Posted 25 October 2006 Posted 25 October 2006 Today I cried with proudness.... much as I did when we were in the premiership again in 2003 and we played our first match with Micky Adams in charge.... that was something pretty special to see the boys out there in the big league... I hope that experience can come again soon, but ATM I am just filled with pride for the work Kelly and his team have done against Villa... so very proud.
Sods Posted 25 October 2006 Posted 25 October 2006 I cried during the boro game at wembley after ravenelli had scored. Than Bruno had to go and get a equaliser i was so happy.
lcfc_jme Posted 26 October 2006 Posted 26 October 2006 Very very nearly after the final whistle on Tuesday night against Villa. Especially after the effort the lads put in, the emotions the fans went through during the 120 minutes and the magnificent show of respect by the Kop after Villa netted the third. Stopped meself from crying, but I was worryingly close to it

Especially after the effort the lads put in, the emotions the fans went through during the 120 minutes and the magnificent show of respect by the Kop after Villa netted the third. Stopped meself from crying, but I was worryingly close to it yeah everyone in the kop stood up and appluaded, but was this for Villa scoring a 3rd to knock us out or was it aimed at our own players who were all sprawled out on the floor looking so dejected after nearly doing it? my appluase went to both parties but massive respect to the lads still for tuesday night.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 October 2006 Posted 26 October 2006 yeah everyone in the kop stood up and appluaded, but was this for Villa scoring a 3rd to knock us out or was it aimed at our own players who were all sprawled out on the floor looking so dejected after nearly doing it? my appluase went to both parties but massive respect to the lads still for tuesday night. I don't think it was for Villa.
Jon the Hat Posted 26 October 2006 Posted 26 October 2006 1999 Worthington Cup final v Tottenham That's the one. Gutted.
Filbert_Ross Posted 26 October 2006 Posted 26 October 2006 The Leicester v Leicester legends game the last ever game at Filbert Street on the monday after the spurs game, when at the end they switched off the floodlights and made everyone link hands and do 'auld sang lyne'

Some random bloke just ripped out my seat, and im sat on it now.
Fleckney Fox Posted 26 October 2006 Posted 26 October 2006 beating derby in the play off final made me cry with joy and laughter.

If any of it was for Villa it'd only have been a small part of it. I think everybody stood up and started clapping because they saw how close we came to taking Villa to penalties and how much effort we had put in over the course of the 120 minutes. They literally had nothing left to give and everyone realised it and so they showed the lads exactly what they thought
Babylon Posted 26 October 2006 Posted 26 October 2006 Swindon Play off final TWICE... when our third went in and after losing to tthe dodgy penno. Hillsborough Coca Cola Final. That's it.

Nationwider Posted 26 October 2006 Posted 26 October 2006 Play off Final v Swindon when we went 3-0 down. My old man asked if I wanted to leave. Said no. 3-0 soon became 3-3 and cant descibed the feelings that i went through ok so we lost 4-3 in the end with a dodgy pen but the tears had gone by then. i was still proud of the comeback That would be my choice too. Rollercoaster doesn't come close to describing it. An unbelieveable defeat, even harder to take after losing the previous year as well.
