Eastern Fox Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 To be honest I'd take the squad he inherited rather than the squad Kelly did Here's the squad in the game before Levein took over: City: Pressman, Makin, Heath, Keown, Stewart, Harper (Scowcroft 68), Gemmill (Williams 28), Nalis, Wilcox (Benjamin 14), Dublin, Connolly. Subs not used: Elliott, Blake. His last game in charge: City: Douglas, McCarthy ©, Kisnorbo, Johansson, Stearman, Wesolowski, Gudjonsson, Hughes, Maybury (Smith 56), Fryatt (Hammond 70), De Vries (Hume 70). Subs not used: O'Grady, Hamill. I'd say Kelly inherited a better squad than Levein on the basis of that, and a much fresher squad as well, not full of journeymen. Don't forget Levein had to let some good players go like Connolly due to lack of money.
lookwhaticando Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 Look at that back five! It's no wonder Mickeh quit. Pressman, Makin, Heath, Keown and Stewart! I'd have kept Stewart perhaps, but the rest of them were useless!
morris1234 Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 Brill and you can also have the space between Josh Lows ears glad someone liked it. btw i'll buy the space bewteen Josh lows ears off you for £10 its quite big so it should / will be good storage ill give u a tenner to keep him off the pitch!
filbertway Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 What a capture, all you doubters, jsut wait 3 games till he's set 4 up and scored 2
lcfc_jme Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 What a capture, all you doubters, jsut wait 3 games till he's set 4 up and scored 2 He's not bluffing - he is actually this confident Cadamarteri will be a good player for us. Has his name on his MSN and everything!! I can't help but think he'll be a letdown and that we'd be dropping somebody better than he is to incorporate him into our side. Hopefully he proves me wrong, but like with RK, I severely doubt he will.

Don't forget Levein had to let some good players go like Connolly due to lack of money. Out of that first squad the players I would have in the team right now would be: Stewart - not as bad as people made out, I believe he would add something to the left side Scowcroft - same as above, not as bad as people made out and he can actually head a ball Williams - duh Connolly - I don't need to explain him either. By the way who is tat Harper guy? Have I forgotten someone
Leonisco Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 By the way who is tat Harper guy? Have I forgotten someone Kevin Harper - right winger on loan from Pompey, now at Stoke
Eastern Fox Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 Edit: Leonisco beat me too it. He's on loan at Carlisle now from Stoke.
morris1234 Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 no offense because i hope he will prove us wrong but ive also got a feeling he will be poooooooooooop!!! flippin ell rk,even when im on fifa or football manager now(aint offen ) i get the urge to sign old cheap (drug addicted) players just to make the game realistic, theres no sense in me signing someone to maybe improve my team! god who'd want to do that
Lichfieldfox. Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 You just want to glance at City's record when Hammond has not played or been a second half sub and compare it with when he's played. In 11 League games when he was out of the side or a late sub we won once and amassed a relegation level seven points. In 16 games he has played we've won seven, drawn four and taken 25 points. It's time people started giving Hammond some slack because, unlike a few who get in or on on the periphery of our team - he's earned it. Well said
Eastern Fox Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 I suppose we should wait until he plays, but on paper this looks a waste of money. 2 goals in 39 appearance in his last major spell in league football-Rab playing up front could probably equal that.
Manwell Pablo Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 Levein brought in Douglas, Sylla and De Vries - mistake judged that neither have really played once Kelly took over. Hammill was shown the door as fast as he could possibly have been although I feel Levein knew this was a mistake. He also brought in poor replacements for half decent players (Sylla for Gillespie, Douglas for Walker, Gilbert for Stewart etc.) He put together a team that really only did well in the cups. To be honest I'd take the squad he inherited rather than the squad Kelly did Even if I agreed with that (which I don't) there would be a reason behind that, Leveins wage budget was 5 million less than Adams's. There are people who believe De Vries was treated poorly here, and Douglas was never as bad as people made out. Levein made a few cock ups with his signings Hamill and Gilbert were unquestionale not good enough. But when you compare it to Adams's criminal record of, Curtis, Howey, Dabizas, Keown, Blake, Hignett, Gemmil, Pressman, and debatebly Wilcox and Dublin. He inherited and squad from Bassett that was easily good enough to get promotion from this division with seasoned players such as Dickov, Dean, Muzzy, Walker, Taggs ect. The team he put togther in the Premier league was his biggest achievement, 33 points was commendable but had he signed one decent Centre Half we might of stayed up, we didn't. He then completley screwed us up the next season, he signed old garbage in every position and his pre season press confernce was a absloute joke ("don't talk to me about the play offs" twat) When he relised he'd ****ed up and we had no chance of the play offs he refused to hear any talk of at the start of the season, he resigned. Leaving his predaccesor with alot of old, shit players on big money, Levein had to sort this problem out. Levein is responsible for the majority of good players we have at this club now, look through the players who played on Saturday, alot were bought by him or bought through our youth team by him (Stearman, Weslowski) Levein under estimated this division, he's motivation and man management skills were poor and he was very limited tatically, but the set up he left was a good one. If any one ruined us it was Adams squandering our Parachute money.
who-izzet Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 He's a poor man's Collymore. Question is... Does he like doggin?
Libertine Posted 28 December 2006 Author Posted 28 December 2006 If he's a poor man's Collymore I'm sure he prefers Catting. YEHSEEYABYEI'VEGOTMYCOAT.
Joe. Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 I'm not complaining.... yet I'm prepared to give him a chance. It's not as if he will play much anyway. Who knows... he may actually be good?
morris1234 Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 He's a poor man's Collymore. Question is... Does he like doggin? haha quality!
AyewJoking Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 Well I'm excited. Hopefully he can do well for us.
dandannieldanok Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 He will struggle to force his way into the team. Hume is our top-scorer, Fryatt is regaining his sharpness and Elvis has hit the net in the last few games. 4th choice at the moment.
JoeyB Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 like i said earlier he could be brought in to play on the right just a thought
Manwell Pablo Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 like i said earlier he could be brought in to play on the right just a thought I'd like to be able to tell you your talking bollocks, and that theres no way Danny Cadamerteri will be playing Right wing for us as he's a striker. Unfortuantley I think there's a good chances he's going to get a go on the right, theres a chance Kelly has signed him with this im mind. I suppouse it would be pretty difficult for him to look more out of his depth in this division than Josh Low does. Am I the only one that thinks Sylla played quite well during his short run in the team.

Manwell Pablo Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 He played quite well for him, not for the division methinks Better than Low or Welsh and in the end thats all that mattered. Seeing as I'll branded a anti-supporter for having the nerve to critisize a player I've seen plenty of, I'll hold fire on DC.
Hullfox Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 Well, The doubters and anti-kelly brigade will once more be hoping for something to go wrong but personally I'm sure that signing someone for 20 weeks will not break the bank and gives us an extra body in the squad. If we could afford the wages and associated fees of Henry or Drogba I'm sure that we'd have made enquiries to sign them. As for Dodds having his nose put out even further, I reckon that maybe, just maybe he gets spoken to quite regularly about his progression within the club and he'll have his future quite clearly marked out. It's probably only his supporters that are taking offence at what is a very short term move. Cadamateri may well prove to be shit. So be it, but I for one will not slate him off without having seen him. Unfortunately I don't seem to have been blessed with the same knowledge of players as some. If he's fast and shit then he's no worse than Elvis.
