Louise Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 Welsh makes return to Black Cats Leicester have cut short Andy Welsh's loan spell with the club. The Sunderland winger had signed on loan with Leicester until the end of the season but he has now returned to the Stadium of Light. The 23-year-old former Stockport forward spent a two-month spell at the Walkers Stadium at the end of last season, making a total of 10 appeances. But he then returned to the Stadium of Light and played in the Black Cats' last two Premiership games. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ity/6055156.stm
lcfc_jme Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 Can't says this saddens me. He hasn't been up to the required standards this time around. Goodbye and good riddance imo.
Webbo Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 inevitable really. he's hardly played and when he has he's not impressed.
Thracian Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 That explains the Cadamarteri signing and so far I'd say full marks to Kelly cos, with all his flaws Cadamarteri is a better bet than Welsh cos at least he does know how to make space and how to score. Whether he'll do it is another matter but he's one up on Welsh in at least knowing how. Pity we can't get rid of Low so easily.
lookwhaticando Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 I wanted him to do well. He didn't. I'm indifferent at the news. So... good-bye and good luck.
Simon Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 Yeah he was pretty awful... I wonder though if the real reason he was sent back was because we couldn't afford to pay Cadamarteri AND Welsh...
Louise Posted 28 December 2006 Author Posted 28 December 2006 Probably. He's only gone back a few days early though, really I suppose the story is that we decided not to renew his loan.

The People's Hero Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 Gotta free up the resources to pay our superstars like Cadamarteri and Elvis I suppose. Personally, I'd pay them in carrots, mints and sugar cubes. Or whatever. Wankers.

lookwhaticando Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 Hold on, why hasn't this been mentioned on the OS yet? Perennial question - why's the OS so slow with the news? That Danny fellow actually signed last Thursday, we're only just hearing. Give it time lad. :ph34er:

Fox63 Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 I hope he doesn't play on Monday. Sods Law dictates that something like this will come back and bite us in the arse!
