Turtles Head Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 Its my girlfriends birthday soon, wondered if anyone had any suggestions for what i could do for the day/weekend as a treat for her? She wants to go to Disneyland (shes 21 in Feb!) but its beyond budget. Looking around £150-£200. Cheers Best suggestion will win a prize!
Goat Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 Last year i went to Nice on the 1st feb. The flights their and back came to £30 Each. I'm sure you can find a hotel for nothing money for a few nights there. I used to be a travel sales advisor and i know theres loaadds of hotels there. Flights from Luton too with easyJet. Theres three flights a day usually, Early morning, Lunchtime and Evening. Last year it was unseasonably warm there. lovely beach too!! Also Monte Carlo is only a short bust journey away!!
lookwhaticando Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 If she's never been Paris, that should be a hit... Nice is... well, nice. Perhaps somewhere in Italy. Milan (just be sure she doesn't get any funny ideas about going clothes shopping or 200 quid quickly becomes two grand). Other options are perhaps the likes of Budapest or Prague perhaps? Depending on ticket prices. I'd imagine it's cheaper now than it was when we flew, easyJet must fly there by now. Prague was nice, she might like it. There's really no end of places to go. Traditional love spots are the likes of Paris and Milan or Rome... but a city break anywhere on the continent should be within reach.
Goat Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 LWICD, those were all good options. Low cost carriers fly to all those airports. bmibaby to Prague from EMA, Ryanair to Milan from luton and also easyJet to Milan from Luton. But double check what airport your flying into if you chose to go with ryanair. They market Milan as Milan but its actual Bergamo which is a city north of Milan. Same applies to nearly every other place they fly.
The People's Hero Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 I have a few ideas. Do you necessarily want to go away somewhere? Are you after an occasion you can both enjoy or a material product?

James. Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 i took my lady to rome in november, perfect couple place and a good laugh as well. if the budget airlines don't have much then edinburgh is actually a great place to explore with a girlfriend.
The People's Hero Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 If you want to take your girlfriend to an overpriced, dirty city full of rude people then go to Paris. I wouldn't though.

If you want to take her somewhere totally different to eat while in Edinburgh, then check out this place... Link and go for the Mongolian Feast....
Thracian Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 You could save on the budget. Morrisons should do it... Scented bathwater, scented candles all around, massage under the shower, shared bath, romantically prepared bedroom, sensual music, smear the lady all over with honey, strawberries, cream, what have you, lick them off slowly and go wherever the mood takes you .... Should get change out of £50 so if it doesn't please her you'll have plenty left over for a re-think!

Bert Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 Just take her away to some swanky hotel and spa and lay on the works for her, champagne, strawberries etc. Take her out for a meal in the hotel, then when back in the bedroom, bombard her with presents.

Them Swedes. Somehow I think a city full of impossibly gorgeous women is a bad idea when he's taking his bird with him. Just a thought... Rome has been suggested and is a great suggestion. Thank you, Thank you.
