dandannieldanok Posted 2 February 2007 Posted 2 February 2007 Russell Howard was good tonight but his delivery is a bit shit. By contrast Hugh Dennis is pretty boring but his delivery is excellent. Ed Byrne should be on every week, Frankie Boyle is always superb, Andy Parsons was about as half-alright as he gets and Gina Yashere managed not to ruin things. Liked it tonight. Couldn't agree more really, I still don't think women are anywhere near as funny as men, although Yashere was OK. I think thats probably about the best line-up they can possibly get. That welsh bloke who has been on before in this series is reasonably funny. Cant remember his name.

And the thing is, he's not even Welsh, he just think if he uses that accent it'll make him funny (which it doesn't, to be honest)

Joe. Posted 2 February 2007 Posted 2 February 2007 I thought it was a quality show last night, especially the joke that Hugh said about prison sentences: "Prison sentences are like the January sakes now: Why have 3 years when you can get six months? 15 year prison sentence? Now just 5 years! " Brilliant

I think thats probably about the best line-up they can possibly get. That welsh bloke who has been on before in this series is reasonably funny. Cant remember his name. He's funny, but he talks like a twat (not the accent, just the way he uses emphasis and stuff) and is way too quiet. At least Jo Brand seems to be out of the way, anyway.
Joe. Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 I thought last nights show was very poor. Theres always somebody who has to ruin it. That bloody woman was an insult to the programme. She has to be the worst person to go on there ever. Useless!

She has to be the worst person to go on there ever. Useless! Agreed. It got okay towards the end but overall it was poor.
Joe. Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 Agreed. It got okay towards the end but overall it was poor. The only good bit was Hugh's commentary on the royal gathering That was brilliant
Flynny Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 I missed it last night. I'll watch in on Saturday/Sunday (???) with Buzzcocks. My mate who thought it was shite last week said it was good, so I'm confused now.
The People's Hero Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 Women just aren't as funny as men. Fact.
Corky Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 Back on this Thursday. Something to look forward to. Love this show, and especially Hugh Dennis
Joe. Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 I do like a bit of Mock the Week. Although I wish they'd put better panel guests on. Dara O'Briain, Russell Howard and Frankie Boyle (absolute ledge) are all quality but the rest are always shit. Especially one of the women- she's embarrassingly unfunny.

Michael McIntyre was quality when he was on it but doesn't appear often enough. Andy Parsons is okay as well I guess. I think the woman you were talking about was Jo Caulfield, and yes, she's just annoying.

Floating Fox Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 I love this show. Possibly the funniest thing around. Could watch it all day on dave. Find 90% of the pannelists funny to be honest. The young lad is funny, and Rory Bremner is a genius as well. George Bush impressions are world class.
Finnegan Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 I hate Jo Caulfield with such unending passion. But some of the regular pannelists are great. Ed Byrne.
Floating Fox Posted 2 July 2008 Posted 2 July 2008 Ched...What makes you think it is on? Can't see it in any TV times
The People's Hero Posted 2 July 2008 Posted 2 July 2008 Jo Caulfield is appalling. Just further evidence that comediennes aren't funny. Women just can't be funny. Jo Brand and Jo Caulfield - oh dear.
Joe. Posted 2 July 2008 Posted 2 July 2008 Jo Caulfield is appalling. Just further evidence that comediennes aren't funny. Women just can't be funny. Jo Brand and Jo Caulfield - oh dear. Harsh, yet very, very true.
MikeyT Posted 2 July 2008 Posted 2 July 2008 Any watch the first episode of the new series? 'I'm so old that my pussy is now haunted.' Hahahaha
Corky Posted 2 July 2008 Posted 2 July 2008 Jo Caulfield is appalling. Just further evidence that comediennes aren't funny. Women just can't be funny. Jo Brand and Jo Caulfield - oh dear. I thought Linda Smith (R.I.P) was pretty funny. Gina Yashere is absolutely appalling, worse than appalling, she ruins the show. The men are quality. Hugh Dennis is genius, Frankie Boyle is fantastic (but goes over the top at times), Russell Howard, Ed Byrne and Jon Oliver are good as well. Rory Bremner The show has also got the perfect host in Dara O'Briain.
