Uncle Albert Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 Women shouldn't be on the program!Still hilarious though. Simon is that excited it has effected his spelling.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 To be fair I thought that the woman on tonight was/is better than most of the females they have on. McIntyre, Boyle and Howard were all on top form, especially Boyle's line about masturbating over Hussein's execution.
morris1234 Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 "THERE JUST fooking POTATOE'S" ahahaha "you have the body of somebody half your age..................growing inside your womb"
Flynny Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 Refusing to read this thread until I've watched this. I'll get it sorted later.
Nationwider Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 Although he was a bit scripted, Michael McIntyre was v.funny. The thing on wrong numbers - pure Jack Dee, but... anyway.
andyh1884 Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 Having seen MacIntyre & Boyle recently doing stand-up, I'd heard some of the material they came out with before - Frankie's Saddam joke was one of them, but still hilarious the second time round. Lucy Porter was fairly poor, she's supposed to be really good live but that didn't inspire me to go & see her.

Have seen McIntyre, class act. Would I Lie To You? starts tonight.
Joe. Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 I'm sorry but 8 out of 10 cats is funnier than this tonight.
FleckneyFox Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 Watched all 3. Would i lie to you is by far the funniest, Rob Brydon and David Mitchell are both legends!
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 12 July 2008 Posted 12 July 2008 I'm sorry but 8 out of 10 cats is funnier than this tonight. Meh, usually 8 out of 10 Cats is quality but they let themselves down with some poor guests. Sean Lock and Jason Manford are both excellent but can't carry the show on their own. Watched all 3. Would i lie to you is by far the funniest, Rob Brydon and David Mitchell are both legends! I would have to agree.
General Smuts Posted 12 July 2008 Posted 12 July 2008 Not a bad start, wasn't the best and they didn't give my favourite Russell Howard enough screen time. WILTY? was ok aswell but nowt special.
Alexikokopops Posted 12 July 2008 Posted 12 July 2008 Hang on, who brought up 8 Out Of 10 Cats? How can you survive half an hour of Jimmy Carr, the man's an arse.
act smiley Posted 13 July 2008 Posted 13 July 2008 Jimmy Carr is amusing in small doses. Usually the guests manage to take up enough time to stop him becoming irritating, I find. Although he was a bit scripted, Michael McIntyre was v.funny. I really can't stand the guy. He's just plain annoying, I find.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 July 2008 Posted 13 July 2008 I really can't stand the guy. He's excellent.
The Stig Posted 13 July 2008 Posted 13 July 2008 Watched all 3. Would i lie to you is by far the funniest, Rob Brydon and David Mitchell are both legends! Got to agree. So the The Stig's Comedyometer Score after week 1 Mock The Week 0 Would I Lie To You 1 8 Out Of 10 Cats 0
Guest Posted 13 July 2008 Posted 13 July 2008 Hang on, who brought up 8 Out Of 10 Cats? How can you survive half an hour of Jimmy Carr, the man's an arse. You took the words right out of my mouth. The only way Carr would be amusing would be is someone was hitting him in his smarmy face.
Flynny Posted 13 July 2008 Posted 13 July 2008 Michael McIntyre's manner should annoy me but it actually adds something somehow, and he seems to have got quite a bit funnier since I first saw him on stuff. The woman wasn't great but I liked the bit that was obviously a snippet from her standup and I could imagine her being amusing in her own way live. Was Lauren Laverne not on it once? I remember her being at least amusing enough to not mean that one of the seats would have been better empty, but even if not I wouldn't care, frankly.
lee7 Posted 13 July 2008 Posted 13 July 2008 Got to agree. So the The Stig's Comedyometer Score after week 1Mock The Week 0 Would I Lie To You 1 8 Out Of 10 Cats 0 Would I Lie to you was sh*te Mock The Week was 100 times better.
Marcoos Posted 13 July 2008 Posted 13 July 2008 I got MTW 'to hot for tv' from i tunes this week - it is absolutely brilliant. Frankie Boyle is pure class
The Stig Posted 13 July 2008 Posted 13 July 2008 Would I Lie to you was sh*te Mock The Week was 100 times better. Not in my or a couple of others opinion on this forum.

Yeah she was, she was okay as well, especially condiering she's not a comedian. I disagree with anyone saying Mock The Week was the better of the two (WILTY? being the other). You have to appreciate that the guests on WILTY? come from all different fields (Gabby Logan and Krishnan Guru Murthy are not comedians, where as all of the panellists on MTW are). They're both good in their own way.
