Thracian Posted 13 January 2007 Posted 13 January 2007 Kelly's right. Seven bookings in a game with no bad tackles and everyone knew something like the penalty was going to happen.
Matt Posted 13 January 2007 Posted 13 January 2007 paddy mac cost us 2 points Even if it was a penalty, The ref still disallowed 2 of our goals...Again I don't know if they should have been disallowed or not...Should all of the goals stand and the penalty final score = 2-3 Leicester win...The ref cost us the game.

One was the fault of the linesman as Fryatt was offside... The way the players reacted (including theirs) and judging by what sheephead (via JonBlueFox9) and Kelly have said, the penalty was a disgrace.

We were Robbed! Something has got to be done about refereeing in this country!
lcfc_jme Posted 13 January 2007 Posted 13 January 2007 0-2 Leicester win then I don't care, basically Leicester should have won! We were Robbed! Something has got to be done about refereeing in this country! This is the general consensus methinks. We should have won this game, we had the chances, shots on target and possession to do just that, but we didn't. It's a good point for us though seeing as that is the first time in 12 games they haven't won a home game. The ref didn't help matters either. He was a complete embarrassment, but that's the sort of thing that is becoming more and more common with new referees in this country. They all see Graham Poll laughing and joking with the star players, grabbing headlines and being well recognised, and they want to be just like it!
DB11 Posted 13 January 2007 Posted 13 January 2007 The referee was just awful. As a referee myself it is sad when you see other referees make mistakes but he was just abysmal.. the kind of performance only a mother would like, and at that one that doesn't know about football Shame the FA won't do anything about it... I'd just love to see the assessors report
lookwhaticando Posted 13 January 2007 Posted 13 January 2007 You're damn right it's the consensus, jme. Robbed. Robbed, Robbed, Robbed. fooking Robbed. Two points dropped in the ugliest possible fashion. What a farce.

What a farce. Even more so now. Hume just said on his interview that after watching the video, it's an embarrassment and everybody has been left scratching their heads wondering how the penalty has been given.
Milky Posted 13 January 2007 Posted 13 January 2007 What a fooking goon. He's obviously never played the game before, which is a big part of the problem.
Wils Posted 13 January 2007 Posted 13 January 2007 The ref. Oh dear, perthetic display from him so inconsistant, had a dreadful game i didnt really see the penalty as it was up the other end. He was booking players for stuff he should have just let go. Dreadful.
luffbra Posted 13 January 2007 Posted 13 January 2007 My thoughts are to find an anti-ref chant list, and sing every single song on that list! Do you know, do you know, do you know the f**king rules!! do you know the f**king rules?? Who's the bastard, Who's the bastard, Who's the bastard in the black? Who's the bastard in the black! etc etc. How about ... Where's your Father, Where's your Father, Where's your Father referee? You've not got one, You're a bastard, You're a bastard referee.
RowlattsFox Posted 13 January 2007 Posted 13 January 2007 fans on a colchester forum are saying they think mccarthy got booked twice wonder how he is feeling right now? bet his assessor ran out of room on his paper.
Wils Posted 13 January 2007 Posted 13 January 2007 There was loads of confusion about the ref when he showed a red card to one of there players, and then showed him a yellow because he hadnt actually been booked. Poor.
JoeyB Posted 13 January 2007 Posted 13 January 2007 he sounded utter w*** imho yellow card, red card, actually that was harsh you can stay on
DB11 Posted 13 January 2007 Posted 13 January 2007 fans on a colchester forum are saying they think mccarthy got booked twice wonder how he is feeling right now? bet his assessor ran out of room on his paper. Which one is this? I can't find a Colchester one (except for crappy BBC and Sky Sports etc.)
Daggers Posted 13 January 2007 Posted 13 January 2007 Leicester manager Rob Kelly blamed rookie referee Danny McDermid for his side's failure to beat Colchester: "It was his first Championship game and it was a bit much for him," Kelly said."Everyone in the stadium knew something was coming and that penalty decision has changed the game. It's his first game but it's our living."
hebangsthedrums Posted 13 January 2007 Posted 13 January 2007 Piss poor, too finickity and no understanding of the advantage rule. Wasn't biased in my opinion just very incompetent. However paddy mac needs to change the way he jumps as he always has his hands all over the forward. the trouble is chants like your not fit to referee are wheeled out so often they use the effect, but this guy did warrant the chant
DB11 Posted 13 January 2007 Posted 13 January 2007 Leicester manager Rob Kelly blamed rookie referee Danny McDermid for his side's failure to beat Colchester: I think everyone else did too
Thracian Posted 13 January 2007 Posted 13 January 2007 Leicester manager Rob Kelly blamed rookie referee Danny McDermid for his side's failure to beat Colchester: About as bad as it gets for the whistler cos Kelly rarely has a go at the ref.
Geo V Posted 13 January 2007 Posted 13 January 2007 About as bad as it gets for the whistler cos Kelly rarely has a go at the ref. Havent a go at the ref doesnt get you anything mate, especially as a manager.
philce Posted 13 January 2007 Posted 13 January 2007 About as bad as it gets for the whistler cos Kelly rarely has a go at the ref. Just got home, that prat was a joke. He was being intimidated by their fans, the gound is very "compact" to say the least. He booked Fryatt for a handball, sh should have sent Izzet off cos he did it twice after he was booked. He was itching to give a pen and send someone off, we were at the other end, not very high up (well not even hugher than the crossbar!) so didnt see much, but like people have said noone appealed for it and to be honest I think our lads just kept quiet to avoid some of the card confetti. Colchester were poor, they had so many dodgy freekicks around the area and just did nothing, maybe they did what we usually do when crap opposition come visiting and think they'd won before the game kicked off. We really did play well in parts, it's annoying when the ball is hoofed upfield and just comes back with interest. I was at Southampton and Sunderland and this was more like the City we know. (didnt go to Fulham as made the decision to use the cash to go today, should be free in the ST though!) And what the F**k was wrong with the pitch on the left as we were looking, the ball wouldnt even bounce 2 feet after a high ball. Even Danny C and Johansson was taking the pi*s out of it! Good day out, and nice to stand legally again! Cheers Phil
lildave3 Posted 13 January 2007 Posted 13 January 2007 He was absolutely awful, both sides will agree.
Magictv Posted 13 January 2007 Posted 13 January 2007 Havent a go at the ref doesnt get you anything mate, especially as a manager. I don't think Thrac was complaining about Kelly rarely having a go, more saying that when Kelly says you weren't a good ref something has really gone wrong. (Or at least that's how I read it )
potter3 Posted 13 January 2007 Posted 13 January 2007 You can tell its bad refree if both sets of fans are singing "You're not fit to referee!" What the hell was the red card that wasn't a red card all about?? And what was Fryatt booked for. Why did he book one of their players for taking a free-kick before the whistle. (Not that I'm complaining ) Joke.
