There was a Greek community who would try to stick together but there werent that many of them. I cant remember that much racism in those days but I left when I was 19 and that was about 15 years back. London however is a different thing. The white English people hate the fact that "all these foriegners are coming over and taking our jobs" as they would put it. There is loads of bitterness towards non-white people down here and racism is rife everywhere. I should know, having spent 10 years as a retail manager throughout London and having come face to face with it with staff and customers. People would like to believe it doesnt exist or sweep things under the carpet but its getting worse.

Maybe its not racism but to me it would get a lot worse without the camera`s. BTW, did anyone hear what the South African cricketer Herschelle Gibbs was saying about the Pakistani supporters??!! Its typical that nothing gets dealt with directly. Gibbs is saying that they abused him and even some of the South African management defended part of what he was saying!!!!!!! The fact is, even though certain people try to keep those thoughts in, now and again they slip out. You would bet your house on the fact that loads of these so called sports stars are sitting in there gardens and laughing at some race! Its there ignorance that needs to be dealt with as some of these South Africans still have there black maids and butlers who they refer to as slaves (mates who lived in Africa are here now and have told me the stories...) BTW, good to hear Leicester isnt as bad Pablo!! I used to have a great mixture of mates of all races when I used to live in Leicester and I honestly cant remember racism being discussed whether playing football around the county or in the pubs and clubs.

Racism, still exists, IMO, Leicester's no better, the only difference is people are 'hidden' racists, they still have the same feelings but duo to the law and social acceptance they button there lip. This applies to all walks of life. I do think this Big Brother thing has gone too far, commenting on the Indians diplomats quick reaction in slating Britian, those feckers should look at there own backyards and there actions. India is one of the most racist places on the planet, the minority non hindu religions and races have been and are continuily persecuted, there human rights record is attrocious, bloody hypocrites!!!

Majority of 'Indians' are good people, but India from a political stand point, is run by people (Brahmins) who believe in there own (caste\kin\blood line) superiority. There are many political parties that make the BNP look like a bunch of fairies and they have substantial votes and power. In fact the second largest party in Indian politics, the BJP, policy states that they want an India, without christians and Muslims. All these parties form a group known as the 'sang', which want a 'true' hindu state!! But it does not stop there the current regime (Congress party), are no different, in 1984, they attacked the people of my faith killing over 100,000 Sikhs, not one person has been tried and convicted for the massacre, yet there is a 'puppet' of a Sikh Prime Minister. Like I say majority of people are not involved in politics but those in power have motives and with money and wealth in a 3rd world nation, anything is possible!!

This whole story is a non-story, the creators will have made a few "complaints" got it to the media, then a bandwagon effect has taken place so that 20000 people have allegedly complained.. The makers of this programmes target audience is pretty much the dross of society, they have lost their audience and so had to get it back on track by appealling to the lowest common denominator... Lets get a race row going, always good to get the scumbags out from under their stones... hey presto a tv programme that had died a death now has millions talking about it and tuning back in to see if this woman has been "called a p*Ki" on national telly..... In London, we have a Greek paper that is obviously all in Greek, black people have a national paper called the Voice which is reported by all black people and the stories are just about black people. If an English white guy decided to do the same they would call him a BNP lover!! Its gone crazy and these types of things are why people are so paranoid or at times full of bitterness and hatred. As for BB, I agree that its a great way of getting more tv audiences and publicity. They dont give a rats arse on whats going on as long as its not libelous or going to cost them millions in court. This subject has had people from forums like this discussing stuff to the closing discussion on the politics show on BBC2 today! Its worked a treat for them!

Yes, that was by a extreme Sikh fundamental group called Babbar Khalsa who want an independant Sikh nation called Khalistan, who still exist, a shame on Sikh people but atleast i'm man enough to state what is wrong with my kin and lower my head in shame at the disgusting actions. Bombing of the plane was inexcusable and will not defend the indefensible unlike some (Sackmycook). All I can say is that the Khalistani movement died because Sikhs refused to act like terrorist and killing innocent people, and as a group of people all I can i say, even after the tyranny they suffer and continually suffer from state\religios terrorism, Sikhs have not reosrted to killing of the kin that have caused the tyranny, even in punjab where Sikhs are most powerful!!! Quite! i only started this thread cause i fancied shilpa. it seems that there are a lot of tensions out there that we never hear of. i've worked for Hindus, Muslims and Sihks and i've fond some pleasant and some ignorant. at the end of the day we're all individuals and should be judged as such.
