Dr The Singh Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 So Tony Blair debates the 'going-ons' in the BB household whilst at the same time :- 1) Crime is rising 2) Our soldiers are coming back in bodybags. 3) The Education and Health system are in tatters. 4) The prison system is w*nk. 5) People are still in poverty in this country. 6) The threat of environmental destruction. That's why I was gutted when that tw*t got to power in '97 - good old Labour have ****ed it up again!! Agreed, it's ridiculious how much impact a crummy TV programme has, there 's far more important things to worry about then a spat on a reality TV show!!! The problem is no matter who would have been in power, the media would have made this debate ppossible!!
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 Agreed with you mate !! I think the Commission for Racial Equality need to be sorting out the BB fiasco - not Blair himself.
Daggers Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 That's why I was gutted when that tw*t got to power in '97 - good old Labour have ****ed it up again!! Erm - show me a single politician that didn't rush to a media organisation with a CBB-Shilpa quote yesterday? This wasn't a Blair thing - they were all being a load of cocks. "I have not seen the television program but from what I am aware something has happened about which I have very strong feelings if it means I can get some votes"
Geo V Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 Honestly, just about black people!? Thats bollox. I dont mind papers about the country you come from (like the greek one) but just going on colour? Yeah there is mate. Its hardly new news though fella as the Black community has had its own magizines like Ebony or Vibe for music as well as making black only films for years! Dont get me wrong, as I said on a previous post, you couldnt get a more diverse person than me when it comes to backrounds so I personally dont think I am prejudiced or racist. What I have a problem with is that if your majority in this country (white English people) decided to have an all white film, all white paper or all white television channel (cable channels like BET and BEN are just black), there would be uproar!! Its gone so full circle that you cant even watch a TV add without the white person being the bad guy! The bloke who is going around with his missus (black couple) describing the best way to break into his house or the indian dude on that advert telling the white kid how to nick his mobile phone! Its political correctness gone mad and this over the top transition has now turned many average Joe`s into extremists or BNP supporters! Why cant we all get along????!! BTW as for Shilpa, I didnt see the program last night as I was at the Cottage but what was actually said? Was it racism??!!

BTW as for Shilpa, I didnt see the program last night as I was at the Cottage but what was actually said? Was it racism??!! I agree, mate but IMO white british society has a complex due to it's past, ie british empire, crusades and hence tends to get over sensitive or over pc and race issues and in doing so have ignored the majority in this land. IMO, Britain has been the most accomodating to immigrants and is the envy of europe if not the world in it's diversity and multiculturalism. It may not be perfect, and there maybe alot of things wrong but it's a great achievement!!!! I haven't noticed the tv thing, for me they seem to be always a token asian or black person in ads to add a sort of diverse nature?? IMO, I don't think Shilpa was racially abused, maybe bullied, definitely verbally abused!!!
Daggers Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 as for Shilpa, I didnt see the program last night as I was at the Cottage but what was actually said? Was it racism??!! "She ought to go back to where she came from!" ~ You decide
sackmycook Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 "She ought to go back to where she came from!" ~ You decide it was more like 'f*** off back to where she came from' anyway thats the end of carphone warehouse!
MC Prussian Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 Anyone watching BB on a regular basis should be transferred to the Falklands. Permanently. Then I'll set up a few cameras, add a few penguins and create "Fat Momma's House - The Series".
Master Fox Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 "She ought to go back to where she came from!" ~ You decide Yeah it's about time Porky Pig (Jade) went back to the Essex Council estate she came from
Babylon Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 it was more like 'f*** off back to where she came from' anyway thats the end of carphone warehouse! I thought it was "fook off home"? Or was that something else that was said. The papers made me laugh today taking everything out of context to make it seem worse than it was (although it was still very unpleasant). It makes my blood boil that people just sit around and don't say anything to the three village idiots. If I was in there i'd of told them to shut the fook up by now.

Agreed, common sense needs to be applied!!
Leicfox Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 The way i see it is that the whole racism aspect has been blown out of all proportion. From what I saw, the argument was over some stock cubes, a not so well cooked chicken and a momentary lapse in Shilpas otherwise perfect command of the English language leading Jade to mistakingly believe she was being lied to. I'm sure Jade would've got just as disgruntled if it were a white person she was arguing with. Danielle and Jo were laughing at the hysterical state Jade was getting herself into over nothing at all, not at Shilpa. Shilpa isn't used to being amongst people with such low morals, limited intelligence and poor use of language and seems to find it unbelievable people could behave like that. It's ignorance, not racism.
Daggers Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 If I was in there i'd of told them to shut the fook up by now. ...and why doesn't that surprise me
Babylon Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 ...and why doesn't that surprise me Because I have anger problems
Zingari Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 this celeb big brother issue sure puts the recent hammer related racist attack by a gang of thugs on a schoolboy in wiltshire into perspective....i'm glad we can still keep a sense of proportion in this country when dealing with issues such as this
vanfox12 Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 So Tony Blair debates the 'going-ons' in the BB household whilst at the same time :- 1) Crime is rising 2) Our soldiers are coming back in bodybags. 3) The Education and Health system are in tatters. 4) The prison system is w*nk. 5) People are still in poverty in this country. 6) The threat of environmental destruction. Try telling telling that to the Miners and the 3 Million uemployed under the Tories in the 1980's. Most of the the problems now are down to us not giving a shit and allowing things to go down the pan.
JoeyB Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 never heard of her before bb and jane goody needs a slap big style i volenter(can't spell it ) hmm i duno who

The media are the biggest hypocrits of the lot constantly moaning about the state of the Country and yobs on the streets but then give programmes like this lots of coverage.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 Erm - show me a single politician that didn't rush to a media organisation with a CBB-Shilpa quote yesterday? This wasn't a Blair thing - they were all being a load of cocks. "I have not seen the television program but from what I am aware something has happened about which I have very strong feelings if it means I can get some votes" Yes well the whole lot of 'em then - they're all c*cks !!
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 its interesting that you have selective memory of this issue, of course there was no history whatsoever prior to 1984, one morning the indian army in their boredom, just thought, yeah, lets storm a temple. bhindranwale and his terrorists were killing hindus in punjab pre-1984 but that you proably won't want to remember. it was all fantasy by the press at the time. anyway i come here to read about leicester city and i go to other places to talk about this stuff and i would rather just keep it that way. so the singh i would be obliged if you would kindly refrain from drawing me into this any further. i think its a shame that you regularly go on about hindus in this manner on this forum to the white majority, what do you think, they care??? i realised that you can put people on an ignore list and i have done that with you perhaps you should ignore me too. Hey leave The Singh alone - we normally agree on things in these topics !! But yes I know what you mean, but that's the point of the General Chat section though mate !!
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 The media are the biggest hypocrits of the lot constantly moaning about the state of the Country and yobs on the streets but then give programmes like this lots of coverage. Yes too right, but Labour or Tories are both sh*te and won't sort out the yob problem. It would take a more radical party to do that possibly, anybody ranging from the BNP to Socialists I suppose ??
City Fan Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 It's bullying, but because its an Indian being bullied it is being portrayed as racism.
Matt Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 Bullied i'll agree with...recieving racist abuse I strongly disagree with! Not just in BB - In general i'm sick and tired of everything consistanly called rascist...and its always involving asians (No offence to asians and I suppose in what i've just said could be classed as racist) but how often do white/christians get abuse from other clutures...but you see no complaints there! You could ask the question - Why should she...BUT if Shilpa was so bother and believed she was being so badly rasically abused why doesn't she just leave the house? As I said you could ask the question why should she but I know if I was that bothered about it and that upset by it, whats the point? just leave! Yes bullied - Not rascially abused!
Matt Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 It's bullying, but because its an Indian being bullied it is being portrayed as racism. Exactly anyone remember EVERYONE in the house last year bullying John McCririck? That wasn't rascist though because he's white...
