England U21s draw Wembley cracker A hat-trick from Italy's Giampaolo Pazzini denied England Under-21s a victorious start at the opening of the new Wembley stadium. A crowd of 60,000 saw Pazzini score after just 25 seconds with a stunning strike to record the first official goal at the new ground. A David Bentley free-kick and a Wayne Routlegde goal put England in front but Pazzini levelled from five yards. Matt Derbyshire scored from close range but Pazzini's third earned a draw. Fiorentina striker Pazzini leaves Wembley with the double hnoour of the first goal and first ha-trick at the rebuilt stadium. It was a superb performance from the Italian, who wasted a late chance to make it four. Pazzini certainly stunned the 60,000 crowd with his early strike and it took England a while to settle into the game. Bentley had restored parity by the break - but it was in the second half that the game really came to life. Giorgio Chiellini failed to intercept Derbyshire's cross and Routledge scored with a crisp strike before Pazzini turned Antonio Nocerino's strike past Lee Camp. England led agains through Derbyshire but Pazzini levelled after picking the ball up on the right and shooting low across goal. Link

When you think about it, there were still 35 thousand spare seats, bigger than our stadium. And Under 21 matches never have good atmosphere's do they? You just wait until the FA Cup final...
