blue blood Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 i will start the ball rolling with roberto mancini
Manwell Pablo Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 i will start the ball rolling with roberto mancini That'd be it then. EDIT: Actually I was quite happy with Sir Les.
Phube Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 Les Ferdinand, was a suprise... and pleasant. Make that two then!! Edit: Oooh spooky me and Manwell agreeing at exactly the same time!!
Flexx Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 Hume. We were only signing old past it players on free transfers, and then comes along Hume for around 750K. Surprising
Unit Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 fryatt for the first 10 or so games, didn't he score 6 in 6 at first?
AyewJoking Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 Sir Les remains the highest profile signing in our clubs history in my humble opinion.
AyewJoking Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 I was pretty chuffed when we signed de Vries but what a shÃÂter he turned out to be.
blue blood Posted 23 March 2007 Author Posted 23 March 2007 I was pretty chuffed when we signed de Vries but what a shÃÂter he turned out to be. LMAO
Milky Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 I remember Dennis wise getting great applause everytime he went to take a corner against fiorentina in that 3-3 friendly.
Head Honcho Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 i will start the ball rolling with roberto mancini Shame we didn't sign him 10 years earlier!
Thracian Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 Davie Gibson for £25,000 or so from Hibernian. That was over 40 years and the sooner we find someone else who is vaguelly good enough to clean his boots the better.

I bet you followed his career at Hibs very carefully.
Master Fox Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 Rab Douglas From Glasgow Celtic (Summer of 2005) At the time when we signed him Craig Levein was quoted saying 'By signing Rab this shows the rest of league that we mean business' I had high hopes for us that season. Especially when Momo Sylla had followed his former team mate south of border to join the Scottish reject revolution that was unfolding at the Walkers
Smudge Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 Allan "Sniffer" Clarke..............the surprise was that we paid 150,000 which was a British record transfer fee as I remember.
Thracian Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 Sir Les remains the highest profile signing in our clubs history in my humble opinion. Why's that? For high profile I can think of Frank Worthington, Stan Collymore, Derek Dougan, Gary Lineker to give him a run for his money.
Manwell Pablo Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 Why's that? For high profile I can think of Frank Worthington, Stan Collymore, Derek Dougan, Gary Lineker to give him a run for his money. Not getting this are you, how was Gary Linekar high profile when we signed him?
Master Fox Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 Why's that? For high profile I can think of Frank Worthington, Stan Collymore, Derek Dougan, Gary Lineker to give him a run for his money. Banks, Shilton and Weller to that list
Fez of Mahrez Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007  Lineker and Shilton high profile signings! Oh dear. Predictable one but Collymore for me. Such a buzz about the place when we signed him. We've always signed idiots but at least they used to be quality footballers too. At the time I was quite pleased with the signings of Darren Eadie and Lee Morris. Poor bastards.
Master Fox Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 Shilton was one of my hero's Itlalia 90, i know he wasn't playing for Leicester at the time and should have least saved one penalty in his career but still...?
Phube Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 Shilton was one of my hero's Itlalia 90, i know he wasn't playing for Leicester at the time and should have least saved one penalty in his career but still...? But he wasn't a high profile 'signing' he was a schoolboy at LCFC, so when we signed him no-one knew who he was!!! Except perhaps his parents...
Guest Gist Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 There hasn't been a pleasantly surprising signing since I've been following Leicester.
