Dodds played 77 minutes - must have been a cracking feeling to be in a team that won 7-2 and recorded their eighth or ninth game without defeat.

Don't think he scored but he won the penalty for the third and the club has not lost once since he joined them as far as I'm aware.

So much for Stockport's tight defence!

Didn't score though did he? :P

It sometimes works out that way. Last week the team scored once - and he got it.

But one things for sure. If a striker plays in an attack that scores seven goals he's likely to have been doing something right.

Conceded 7 goals today at home to Rochdale lol

my uncle rang me the other week gloating about stockports recent run of good form; i texted him earlier on saying 'you only ring when you're winning!'. ha.

7 goals and the mighty Dodds didn't net a single one. He is awesome.:ph34r:

What the **** happened to them today anyway? Usually such a tight defensive side. :o

I don't know how many more he was in involved in, if any, but one goal and one assist (winning the penalty) in two significant appearances, six points out of six and a 8-2 winning aggregate sounds pretty good to me and a damn site better than anything that's happening here.

 Calm down!!

In the match report on the Rochdale site, it doesn't say Dodds won the penalty today though..

Sadly for the on loan 'keeper he was picking the ball out of the net for a third time moments later after spilling a simple catch from a Lee Crooks freekick.Murray reacted quickly but was caught by a desperate lunge by Hennessey as he tried to recover and was tripped.Adam Rundle stepped up to fire the ball home.

It does on the BBC. It didn't sound as if the Rochdale guy on the fans site had the faintest idea who was fouled. Not that it matters especially. I'm sure the manager will be real pissed off with his contribution to a 7-2 win.

It wasn't Dodds according to "rochdaleonline"

Stockport keeper Wayne Hennessey hadn’t had the best start to his afternoon having already picked the ball from his net twice and it turned to disaster when he dropped what should have been a regulation catch from an innocuous Dale free kick and as he scrambled to retrieve the loose ball he hauled down Murray for a clear penalty

SuperDodds doesn't get a mention.

I've often said you don't notice him.

Perhaps Horsfield and your other "experienced" heroes will help us to a 7-2 win at Stoke eh.

Sorry Thrach, I'm afraid my blinkers aren't letting me see where I've posted that Horsfield is a hero. Perhaps you could enlighten me.

Care to revise your opinion now that we know it wasn't Dodds that won the peno?

Anyway, if we had won a match 7-2 and Fryatt had played 70 odd minutes without scoring, you'd be the first to criticise him. But then again different rules apply to the academy babes eh?

a) I gather he was involved with at least one of the other goals - so theone goal/one assist remain.

b) If Fryatt gets involved in a 7-2 win I'll be delighted to praise him. Fryatt has ability- just nothing like as much as people seem to think because of his glaring limitations. So to do any good he needs to be in better shape than he has been throughout this season - partly cos of injury, yes, but partly due to himself judging by his apparent fitness level at the start of the season.

c) Why would different rules apply?. Give me one good reason. Do you seriously think I'd be complaining if Horsfield had, say, 4 goals and 4 assists in his nine games? He would never have been my choice but he'd be praised for doing well like anyone else. But he hasn't. He's been awful. And that is a constant at Leicester these days. Awful or very ordinary players keep getting picked. Some have now left but they still got far more opportunity than people like Dodds.

He has more than enough 'ability' for this division, he's physically limited, he's not strong and he's not fast, most, if not all top strikers have at least one of these. He's the opposite of Elvis Hammond, who is strong and fast but has the technical ability of a tree.

Sorry Thracian, but shut up will you? He played 77 minutes of a trouncing. There's no 'I' in the word team, there's no 'Dodds' either - you're going on like he won the game alone. He didn't even finish it, let alone score. There were at least 9 other guys out there that played a full 90 and deservedly won it.

Yes, it's a promising sign, but promising still would be goals and journos calling his praises. I'm willing to admit it's a good sign if you're willing to admit it isn't proof he's Ronal****ingdinho. Christ.

You say all this Thracian.

But Hammond is garbage and this has been shown by his career record. Reading half your posts, anyone would think he was the next Pele.

You might think Hammond is garbage. You've said nothing to make me agree with you but simply exaggerate every remark for whatever effect suits you.

I can't remember writing one word that took away from the contribution of any Rochdale player. I'm just trying to emphasise that Dodds is a far better bet than Horsfield, than Hammond (purely as a striker) and probably Fryatt too with what I imagine is with his current level of fitness. You mentioned Ronaldino not me.

Yes but all know how accurate they've been this season don't we :D
