Matt Posted 3 April 2007 Posted 3 April 2007 Anyone else watching the PSV v Liverpool game? I am, not with much intrest but it's on, anyway anyone got a widescreen TV? If so is the picture your watching a square picture in the centre of the screen? Because it is on our TV. Every other programme is full widescreen, just not tthe football on ITV, I think it has done it in the past if I remember correct. Woohoo! The exciting times ahead of football on the ITV ah?!

Fez of Mahrez Posted 3 April 2007 Posted 3 April 2007 Yeah ITV games are always like that on our TV. And ****ing Pleat. I hate ITV so much. There's NOTHING good on it, let alone their football coverage.
Matt Posted 3 April 2007 Author Posted 3 April 2007 it doing that when i watch throu sky but not when i watch on 3 I dunno what i'm watching it through, I have got sky but i'm not watching it through sky, Freeview is intergrated on the TV so prehaps its on via Freeview, I dunno . Its cut back to the studio now and its gone back to filling the whole screen, but think when the 2nd half starts it'll go back to the square view.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 3 April 2007 Posted 3 April 2007 Are we still signing Jason Culina? He looks quite handy, and on the big stage too. Hope Milan has sent a scout.
Manwell Pablo Posted 3 April 2007 Posted 3 April 2007 He looks quite handy, and on the big stage too. Hope Milan has sent a scout. I was worried about that, I herd quite a few of our scouts we're off down to the San Siro tonight to watch Marek Jankulovski, Alberto Girladino and Bastien Schwinesteiger. It could happen, nobody knows we aren't going to sign them for certain.

I thought I was hearing things but quickly realised it was Pleat
lildave3 Posted 3 April 2007 Posted 3 April 2007 What did Pleat just say!!"that was a Hollywood pass" WTF is a Hollywood pass? I thought I was hearing things but quickly realised it was Pleat A 'hollywood pass' is a well known saying Basically a long ball.
Head Honcho Posted 3 April 2007 Posted 3 April 2007 A 'hollywood pass' is a well known saying Basically a long ball. So whats wrong with saying "long ball"?

Alexikokopops Posted 3 April 2007 Posted 3 April 2007 A 'hollywood pass' is a well known saying Basically a long ball. So whats wrong with saying "long ball"? I always though of a Hollywood pass as an over elaborate pass, generally long, when a much simpler one would have done the job.
lildave3 Posted 3 April 2007 Posted 3 April 2007 I always though of a Hollywood pass as an over elaborate pass, generally long, when a much simpler one would have done the job. It is, i just couldn't be arsed to explain it like that. I appluad you for your efforts
The People's Hero Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Are we still signing Jason Culina? Yeah. He's always said that (as a full international let's not forget) PSV were only ever going to be a stepping stone on the journey towards achieving his dream at Leicester City FC. Right.
Phube Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Just to make you feel better. The reason the game was in 4:3 is because the continent is backwards in this regard. Therefore most away games in the Champions League are in 4:3, not 16:9. It's what the country chooses to broadcast in. Just wait for the home legs, you'll see that they're in 16:9... the way TV should be!!
The People's Hero Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Hollywood pass is a (usually unnecessary) pass for the cameras. It will usually be long and have some kind of swerve applied but usually achieves nothing or at least nothing more than a simpler pass could have done.
Phube Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 A bit like a 'Hollywood Save' where a keeper dives full length to stop a shot he could have stood still for... David James say!!!
Monk Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Yes I watched in on Freeview and had the same problem. Played about with the settings but couldnt sort it. What idots. Gutted they have got the FA Cup next year. Clive Tilsey = worst commentator ever

Bluefoxtim Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Clive Tildsley > David Pleat. Fact. At least we won't have to listen to Mark Bright anymore.

Tell you what, all those at the end of season 11-a-side are gonna see a few of them from me. I might let every shot it but at least I try and look good while doing it godammit!!
