escape2victory Posted 9 April 2007 Posted 9 April 2007 How badly have we missed him ? Conceded 11 goals in 4 games without him, nearly 3 per game !! Proves he is our best defender. Just hope he is back for Saturday
Wils Posted 9 April 2007 Posted 9 April 2007 I think we have missed him in the games ive seen. But to be fair, weve got other players in our squad who should be able to come in and do a job while hes out. The sooner hes back the better, one of our best players this season.
JoeyB Posted 9 April 2007 Posted 9 April 2007 We need PAddy Mc back he maybe a nutter but he;s a leader on the pitch and thats what we lack mmost 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 is the way forward
Guest Gist Posted 9 April 2007 Posted 9 April 2007 You're right, we need him back as soon as possible.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 9 April 2007 Posted 9 April 2007 I just wish he'd given Johansson a go at centre-back in Big Mac's absence. I wouldn't have minded so much if Kelly thought we desperately needed him at left-back but he hasn't even played him in two of the four games.
escape2victory Posted 9 April 2007 Author Posted 9 April 2007 Year good point about Johansson. If anything CB is his preffered position. I hope we all agree Kenton is useless and should be put down !

His passion is needed so I just about agree with you. As for playing three at the back, I think it is a certain no-no. England tried it against Croatia with potentially 3 out of the 10 (maybe 5) best centre halves in the business playing, it failed miserably.

Flynny Posted 9 April 2007 Posted 9 April 2007 I think if Paddy Mac wasnt injured we would be in a worse situation than we are now. He's better than Kenton and has a gob on him.

That's if he was even avaliable and wasn't injured.

Just hope he is back for Saturday You might be right but I don't think it necessarily proves that. It might equally suggest that Kenton is a major weakness in that position as I've said since I saw him against Sociedad. For me McAuley is our best footballing centre-back but he's a bit slow for my liking and Kisnorbo can't pass so they've both got weaknesses. Kenton is too slow and too small for that position. You're definitely right about needing McAuley on Saturday.

I hope we all agree Kenton is useless and should be put down ! i dont think hes a good centre back at all but he isn't a bad right back. I think his best aspects are his strength and he can hit someone hard. A perfect right back.

Kisnorbo and McAuley both have weaknesses but they're both weaknesses that are much less likely to be exploited at this level. I think that if McAuley was pacey he'd be in the Premiership next season if he wasn't already, but he'd definately be at a better club than leicester. i dont think hes a good centre back at all but he isn't a bad right back. lildave3 Posted 9 April 2007 Posted 9 April 2007 Really missed the lad, not only defensively but at set-pieces too.
Ric Flair Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 He's better than Kenton and has a gob on him. So's Charlotte Church or am I dripping with sarcasm?
Manwell Pablo Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 Kentons not good enough as a CB in this division, I can barely remember him playing at CB before he came here tbh he's always been a full back. He's pony at CB I'd rather have McCarthy (yes I know his injured I'm just saying) or even Stearman there. Or of course NJE, who Fez is very right about, RK seems to have got it into his head that he's an out and out full back, he's been grossley miss managed ever since he got here Obviously we miss McAuley really badly, but his absence wouldn't be so obvious if the manager did his job and replaced him with the best option available.

Exactly. If McAuley comes in for Saturday, I feel he might save Kelly his job.
Geo V Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 Exactly. If McAuley comes in for Saturday, I feel he might save Kelly his job. No chance. Im sure MMs mind is made up and he wont trust his personal wealth on the doubly hard stone turned one. McAuley is a huge miss in defence and his absence has not been a coincidence in our defence looking shite. As for Paddy Mac returning, forget that one! Yes as a sub but we havent got good enough wingbacks to play 3 centre halves and we shouldnt do what all England managers try to do and simply accomodate 3 players because they are good when it fooks up the teams balance, but stick to playing the two best CBs and have the other on the bench.
DB11 Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 He cost us the game on Saturday so we haven't missed him too much The new Frank Sinclair!
Louise Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 Far too slow yesterday, probably came back too soon - although he's not the quickest anyway. Kisnorbo was woeful too.
Nath Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 Far too slow yesterday, probably came back too soon - although he's not the quickest anyway. Kisnorbo was woeful too. He was slow because he has re-agrevated his hamstring so we are looking to be without him for rest of the season?!
lee7 Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 if McAuley still isn't 100% fit for the brum game hope he doesn't play kenton there we play crap everytime he plays CB
MBK Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 Well one game in, Worthington has shown decent team selections so I wouldn't surprised at Nisse returning to CB with Kenton or Mattock filling in at LB.
