Need a miracle run of results to qualify this year.

Yeh think it's gone now. Hampshire and Worcs need to lose both their last two, Essex loss one and we need to win both.

Yep, although at least we're playing Worcs on one of our last 2 games. It's embarrassing that we're only 2 points ahead of Surrey's under 16 team, despite playing 2 overseas players.

Apart from Essex in a couple of games and one of them was from cricket heavyweights Ireland think we are the only side playing 2 OS

Glos have backed their academy big time in recent years.

Payne, Dent, both Taylors and then Bracey and Hammond were the first generation.

Now the brothers Price, Charlesworth, Phillips, Boorman, Goodman and Bailey have followed them off the production line with others on the periphery and Miles who was an earlier product coming back.

Think they're losing a few to other counties (Tom Price and Goodman plus maybe Bailey?) but I've a lot of time for their approach. They've probably been as shite as us a lot of the time but won the T20 last season with 8 homegrown players in the XI which is impressive.

Ahmed, Hull and now Green have been a pleasure to see emerge in recent years and hope more follow.

Gloucestershire have always fielded a large number of academy players. They generally seem to produce players who are never going to play for England or be  of interest to bigger clubs but are solid enough county  pros.

Agreed, though like Somerset they do have quite a big hinterland of minor counties to draw on. As well as Bristol and Glous itself they have, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Berks and Herefordshire all adjoining the Glous border. Whereas, we are surrounded by Notts, Derby, Northants, Warwickshire.

We have the talent of Rutland to pick from too!

Needed to bat first to have a chance of winning today, I think. If they get over 300 (almost certain), just can't see us getting close with the likes of Masood batting with a strike rate of about 60.

It’s a road and the outfield is like glass, so we can do it with some sense. Need to get off to a good start though.

Spinners doing some damage. Good to see Rishi giving us that extra option, needed when your seamers are going at 9-10 an over!

I certainly wasn’t expecting that!

I'm going to tempt fate and ask who was the last Leicestershire player to do the double of taking a 5-for and scoring a century in a white ball game?

I'll get my coat
