Annual End Of Season Awards Results

The Annual Leicester City End of Season Awards took place at the Walkers Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Over 500 people were in attendance on the night, including Chairman Milan Mandaric and caretaker manager Nigel Worthington.

Iain Hume took the coveted Player of the Season award on the night, while Patrick Kisnorbo was voted Players' Player of the Season by his colleagues.

Goal of the Season, as voted for by users of the club's official website at lcfc.com, went to Nisse Johansson for his vital strike in the 1-0 victory over Preston North End at Deepdale last month, while recent Academy graduate Joe Mattock picked up the Academy Player of the Season.

Pictures from the event will be available on lcfc.com on Thursday morning.

I cant argue with those awards although surely there should have been a "Saviour of the year award" with MM getting a prize?? lol

Academy player of the season - obvious really.

Goal of the season, unfortunately, has been distorted by the importance of Nissa's goal. :nono:

Still, congrats to him anyway... it's not often he scores goals, and he'll probably never score such a vital one again.

I don' know about obvious.

Mattock has had a great season and a chance arose for him to play in the first team. He took it in style but people like Eric Odhiambo (18 goals from 19 games) and Billy McKay (16 goals from 20-odd) in a title winning team didn't get such opportunities despite our appalling second striker situation.

Gradel's 18 goals in 20 games was outstanding for a winger - especially coming after doing much the same last season but he never got the sniff of an opportunity despite the umpteen people weused in that position.

Yet that, to me, was the most telling factor in the Academy's success. I doubt another winger in the League scored half that many goals. And all our first team wingers put together mustered two goals between them.

You can't argue with any of them really, Nils' goal was just so important it had to win really, but in terms of asthetics, Hume's goal against soton would have to win, or williams against hull, but he's left so he couldn't really win it!

What did twatto win his bottle of Moet champagne for?

I would have though its because he has been at the club for a few years and he is leaving. Either that or 'most kicks to opposition players shins'.

I think that they should have cancelled the whole event and spent more time re-doubling there efforts on the training ground. A total waste of time and money that could have sent to a worthwile charity.

by the way........Tiattio deserves nothing apart from a thick ear, start packing and bugger of back to Oz.... no love lost there

To be honest, to cancel the awards would have been unfair on Hume and Kisnorbo as they have performed this season, its not their fault they played with crap, i'm sure most of the other players wernt congratulated for their efforts, nor should they be.

Hume and Kisnorbo deserved their awards.

  • Most late arrivals at training

  • Stupidest hairstyle
  • Crappest driver in an expensive car
  • Most weight gained during the season
  • Best impersonation of a football player

These, as you would expect, are the awards taken most seriously.
