MPH Posted 29 June 2007 Posted 29 June 2007 Why would a player take a pay as you play when there would be other Championship teams willing to offer a 3 year contract? QUOTE(MPH @ Jun 29 2007, 10:56 AM) if we have questions with regards to his fitness, give him a pay as you play deal for the first 6 months and then convert it to a 'proper' contract.... would love to see him here. Why would a player take a pay as you play when there would be other Championship teams willing to offer a 3 year contract?

Why would a player take a pay as you play when there would be other Championship teams willing to offer a 3 year contract? Great thanks for that... it still doesn't explain why a player would accept our offer of a pay as you play over a 3 year contract. Players just don't accept that kind of deal end of story.
Kent Fox Posted 29 June 2007 Posted 29 June 2007 His name goes really well with that "Waterloo" song from ABBA. Todorov, why did we give you a two year deal? Todorov, when is your injury gonna heal? Todorov, been here for months and not played a game. I dont know why paid all that dosh, gave the posh all that cash and your lame! Or something..

We gave fckin' 36yr old N'Gotty a 2 year deal and yet you wouldn't want to give Todorov more than 6 months. Mental!!

Mental!! never said i didnt want to give him more than 6 months. i was responding to some posts that commented on the fact he might be injury prone.
Daggers Posted 29 June 2007 Posted 29 June 2007 You've really got a nerve and all you wanna do is flirt Love is just a word that you tell to all your birds Does it give you any satisfaction to see the worst of one's reaction And this has never happened, it's my first love attraction And what did I do to deserve this, some days I feel all nervous Please use the telephone service I hope today you hear this (ooh ooh ooh)
Babylon Posted 29 June 2007 Posted 29 June 2007 well if you would READ the previous posts you'll know exactly why i wrote that.and to answer your question... even though im sure you know already, he gets on well with mandaric. and who has offered him a 3 year deal? I know exactly what you wrote thanks. You said if we have concerns we should offer him a pay as you play... again I will ask why would a player accept a pay as you play over a long contract from another club.
Dr The Singh Posted 29 June 2007 Posted 29 June 2007 I'm gonna state the obvious....if no prem club comes in for him we have a excellant chance of landing him!! MM is a big fan of his, and at this level he is quality and exactly what we need - a natural finisher!!!!
MPH Posted 29 June 2007 Posted 29 June 2007 I know exactly what you wrote thanks. You said if we have concerns we should offer him a pay as you play... again I will ask why would a player accept a pay as you play over a long contract from another club. has he been offered a bigger deal? who by? have you got a link for that? you said he had been offered a 3 year deal by a championship club? and i already asnwered as to why- you said you know exactly what i wrote but i answered your question already! and to answer your question... even though im sure you know already, he gets on well with mandaric. i DID already post that
dandannieldanok Posted 29 June 2007 Posted 29 June 2007 has he been offered a bigger deal? who by? have you got a link for that? you said he had been offered a 3 year deal by a championship club? No he didn't, he said other CCC clubs would be willing to offer 3 years, and I agree with him.
MPH Posted 29 June 2007 Posted 29 June 2007 No he didn't, he said other CCC clubs would be willing to offer 3 years, and I agree with him. i dont think anyone would offer him more than 2 years. a stiker who is 30 and been out alot of last season beinng offered a 3 year deal? would love to see that! he would either need to prove his fitness hugely.. or have someone who really knows him well...

No you haven't answered my question!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My question is "why would a player accept a pay as you play when other teams would offer a longer contract"... whether he has doubts over his fitness means nothing, he would still accept the longer contract. If we were offering him a pay as you play and someone was offering 2/3 years WHY in his right mind would he accept our offer??!?!?!? I never said someone had I said they would be willing!!!!! If you don't think a team out there like a stoke or a hull or an ipswich would offer longer to secure his services then this conversation ends now because you are quite simply wrong. Oh and he's 28.
Joe. Posted 29 June 2007 Posted 29 June 2007 I just have a feeling Todorov, and another Pompey player will be on the way Somebody like Richard Hughes possibly...
Babylon Posted 29 June 2007 Posted 29 June 2007 I just have a feeling Todorov, and another Pompey player will be on the way Somebody like Richard Hughes possibly... More like you have been reading the same sites most of us read.
Joe. Posted 29 June 2007 Posted 29 June 2007 More like you have been reading the same sites most of us read. Well yes I may just be bringing up old rumours, but what I'm saying is that I'm expecting them to actually be on their way here.
Babylon Posted 29 June 2007 Posted 29 June 2007 Well yes I may just be bringing up old rumours, but what I'm saying is that I'm expecting them to actually be on their way here. thanks
Strokes Posted 29 June 2007 Posted 29 June 2007 Well yes I may just be bringing up old rumours, but what I'm saying is that I'm expecting them to actually be on their way here. Great!
00rawat Posted 29 June 2007 Posted 29 June 2007 Storrie added: "Toddy and Kanu have got until 30th June before their existing contracts run out. "After that they can sign what's on offer or go on week-to-week deals. The deals are there, it's really up to them if they want to stay with us." Todorov contract runs out tomorrow just to let you just in case you did not know that alreadey.
brasso92 Posted 29 June 2007 Posted 29 June 2007 according to reports on sky sports last night he has turned down a one year deal from Portsmouth. lets hope we get in for him.

I HAVE TOLD YOU!!! BECAUSE HE AND MANDARIC GET ON WELL!! can i say it any clearer and any more times?? sometimes when players get on well with certain people, they follow them. simple. AND you claimed to of read what i wrote- but you clearly havnt.- i was responding to some posts in here that said he was rather injury prone. i personally would be happy to offer him a two year deal but i dont think he will get a three year deal because of his recent injuries. wether he is 28 OR 30. Cort with similar injury problems last year ( and similar in age about a year and 2 months difference) has been offered a 2 year deal. dont get me wrong, i would be delighted to get him and any signing is a gamble really.
dandannieldanok Posted 29 June 2007 Posted 29 June 2007 I HAVE TOLD YOU!!! BECAUSE HE AND MANDARIC GET ON WELL!! How do you know this??
