Blue Bob Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Don't want to raise everyone's hopes again too much, but... a) the official Charlton site has nothing about this (http://www.cafc.co.uk/default.ink) b) neither does the BBC football site (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/default.stm) and c) both teamtalk and 365football have given exactly the same story, which is the translation of a link on: www.gong.bg. My Bulgarian's not too great though and I don't know how reliable the site is. But I won't believe it till I see it on the Charlton OS. Have to agree, after losing Bent Charlton would be singing this one from the rooftops. No mention anywhere that is a respectable source!!!! Still not dead as a possible signing.
Ryanside Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Ok, just got my Russian housemate to read it, its not russian but she can understand it! It is the same as what it the translation says, she said it also said something about him refusing a 2 year contract and just wanting a one year. and for anyone who is interested, Лестър is Leicester in whatever language that was!

chili_con_carne Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Not that dissappointed we havn't signed him really, he's getting on a bit and i would like to see some money being spent on one more striker. (Like McLeod)
potter3 Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Not that dissappointed we havn't signed him really, he's getting on a bit and i would like to see some money being spent on one more striker. (Like McLeod) What??

chili_con_carne Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 well if 28 is getting on a bit then i might as well go book my funeral.... Is he? Im surprised by that, i thought he was about 34. Still he is similar to Fryatt in ways, a good finisher but he hasn't got much pace or strength. We could do with more players like Job and McLeod - not another Fryatt kind of striker

Geo V Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 I`d be gutted if he did go to Charlton instead of us but he didnt seem to be set on coming here from as far bck as January. Get Job ready for tomorrows press conference instead.

lcfcmad2005 Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 My Stokie mate over here in Malaga reckons that Todorov has been spotted at the Brittania talking to Stoke he got it off the stoke forum OATCAKE but i still have faith that he would rather come to Leicester

Tommeh Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 TBH I havn't really had the hump about any players we may have missed out on this season but Todorov is one who I feel we need to sign and if he slips through I will actually be pretty annoyed. sure he had injury problems but he's got that bit of quality in front of goal we desperately need, would be a big loss IMO If he goes Charlton though they will be pretty well off for strikers with Todorov, Iwelumo, Varney. Marcus Bent back here anyone?
STUHILL Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Sorry to be the one to break the bad news guys BUT........ ADDICKS SWOOP FOR TODOROV Svetoslav Todorov has agreed to join Charlton on a one-year contract after rejecting the chance of a return to Bulgaria with Levski Sofia. Leicester, Stoke and Wigan were all quickly linked with a move for the 28-year-old after he turned down the offer of a new deal from Portsmouth But Charlton have won the race to sign the Bulgaria international. He told www.gong.bg: "Everything happened really fast, I passed the medicals and am training with Charlton."

It was decided then that as there has been no announcement from Charlton, BBC or Sky sports that the source would be viewed as dubious. Whilst this might be true I think it needs to be confirmed by a better source.

Well this link is from sportinglife.com, which is basically Skysports so you can all begin to come to terms with it because it looks like a deal done, and perhaps a good player we have missed out on. Will be interesting to see his success or lack of next this season!!

Sky do not announce anything unless they have it from a respectable source. Sporting life are not so fickle. www.gong.bg is not a source that is recognised as reliable - do you think it is. Now I am not saying this isnt going to happen but I will believe it when it comes from the club. Until then I have seen way to many bullsh*t rumours to believe everything published.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Charlton were always going to beat us to him as long as they were interested.Hopefully this will be confirmed, we'll sign Job and Kaebi this week and we can all move on with our lives. The bloke has started no more than 13 games in the past 4 years! Would probably prefer that to Todorov to be honest.Don't thik so some how though. If he leaves Charlton it'll be for premiership The vast majority of Charlton fans absolutely hate him.

Ok you are right in some respects, i.e I can't find anything other than that Sportinglife.com link. Which i do find to be very strange. However, I have never known Sportinglife to post a 'rumour' or false story. It is a site very much based on facts and although you disagree, i think also very similar to Skysports. Well fingers crossed for this one being a genuine slip-up by sportinglife then!!!

You can't quote a player and it be a rumour, surely? Else football rumours would be full of them!
