MBK Posted 4 May 2007 Posted 4 May 2007 i'll take this one Luke Varney, Nicky Maynard, Billy Sharp, Nathan Tyson, Izale Mcleod, Jermaine Easter off the top of my head pal League 2.
BigGibbo Posted 4 May 2007 Posted 4 May 2007 League 2. yae i know mate i was just saying the best from lower leagues
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 May 2007 Posted 4 May 2007 Another name to throw into the melting pot, Leon Constantine. Out of contract with Port Vale in the summer. Scored 26 goals this season. Link You throw is name into the melting pot, he's only been mentioned on here about 6 times I can't believe Vale fans call him lazy, if someone scored 26 goals for us I wouldn't care if they were lazy to be quite honest
MBK Posted 4 May 2007 Posted 4 May 2007 yae i know mate i was just saying the best from lower leagues But tbh you just mentioned the thing I was about i.e. players frequently in the news. Oldham's Porter is a just example of what I meant. Crewe also have some good players

Dont run before you can walk BigGibbo
dandannieldanok Posted 4 May 2007 Posted 4 May 2007 Can't believe some people are saying they wouldn't have Cureton. We have been crying out for a traget man all season and Horsfield is definitely not the answer. 18 goals is good enough for me, and just remember how much he has assisted Cureton, I bet half his goals were created by Iwelumo and vice-versa.
Ultra Posted 6 May 2007 Posted 6 May 2007 Cureton is 33 so hardly one for the future. Iwelumo is a lower-league journeyman who struck lucky this season, mostly because: 1) He takes penalties. 2) Most teams who visit Layer Road can't believe that toilet is a Championship venue. He'll be found out next season, whichever club he plays for. Just pray it isn't us!
Maybes Posted 6 May 2007 Posted 6 May 2007 There are plenty of other young players we should look at down in league 1. Little exposure, limited hype and worth a gamble. Billy sharp is now a championship player ill have you know.
lildave3 Posted 6 May 2007 Posted 6 May 2007 Who wouldn't want Iwelumo next season? He's been fantastic for Col U this year.
Brainy Posted 7 May 2007 Posted 7 May 2007 I have to agree with Ultra Especially the 2nd point
Geo V Posted 8 May 2007 Posted 8 May 2007 As we like former dope heads, would anyone accept Abel Xavier? He has just been released by Middlesbro and may be an OK player at right back for a season? I would sign him if he would come here on a 12 month contract as he is 34 now. http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=4...ier+leaves+Boro
Leicfox Posted 8 May 2007 Posted 8 May 2007 Another druggie, yep get him in. Seriously though i'd take him.
IDEA OR IKEA Posted 8 May 2007 Posted 8 May 2007 Another druggie, yep get him in.Seriously though i'd take him. He would be worth a year risk on, with an extension if he plays a certain amount of games
Ric Flair Posted 8 May 2007 Posted 8 May 2007 I have heard that Choutos has been released by Inter Milan. He was the one of was immense against us in that friendly a few seasons ago. Hasn't had a sniff at Inter at all really and been on loan a lot. Could we get him?

Both Xavier and this one wanted more money than was offered. Don't see how they will accept us.
MBK Posted 8 May 2007 Posted 8 May 2007 Dream option would be C. Vieri. He's paid 15,000 per year and big bonus per goal atm with Atalanta. Team he loves, Seria A but those wages mmm?
lookwhaticando Posted 8 May 2007 Posted 8 May 2007 For the people who say we need another keeper, Danny Coyne has been released by Burnley and is thus available on a free. Also released by Burnley: Frank Sinclair.

Ric Flair Posted 8 May 2007 Posted 8 May 2007 Both Xavier and this one wanted more money than was offered. Don't see how they will accept us. The fact Inter never picked Choutos might have a reason behind him leaving.
Brainy Posted 8 May 2007 Posted 8 May 2007 Burnley have released the experienced quartet of Graham Branch, Danny Coyne, John McGreal, Frank Sinclair. Preston have released five players after their failure to reach the Championship play-offs. Michael Ricketts, 26, Pavel Pergl, 29, Ashley Parillon, 19, Ben Hinchcliffe, 18 and Warren Beattie, 20 None of them really excite me but i'm sure some 'decent' players will be released over the coming months
