Currently drinking a pint of ice-cold Magners that I've just pulled out of my Corrs Light beer bin.

I know it's not beer but very refreshing alcoholic drink.

I got charged £4 for a bottle of Black Sheep Ale in the Rescue Rooms on Friday, and £3.10 for a pint of Red Stripe in a bar on the Hinckley Road the day after. The revolution is near, comrades.

I can remember when a pint of Home Bitter cost £1 in the Savoy in Anstey, and all these fields were just fields etc

I got charged £3.40 for a pint of Red Stripe in The Rutland and Derby. Good beer though.

I've never had Magners/Bulmers or any of that shite.

Am I missing out?

It's more refreshing on a warm day than, say, a Strongbow, but it's still overpriced claptrap.

Cider is for people that cant drink beer.

In my day, we weren't poncy enough to drink cider with ice. Watered down claptrap.

Not really. Tastes virtually the same as Strongbow & costs about 1/3 more.

I can't stand Magners, its hated is only betterd by Budwieser. If someone had offered your average Magners drinker a pint of it a couple of years ago they wouldn't have drank it, simply because they'd never of heard of it.

Pourquoi, comrade?

Because I drink for drinking's sake.

Because it costs quite a lot.

Because whilst I never used to get hangovers, now I do.

Because I'm putting on a lot of weight.

But mostly because everyone else is doing it these days!

Also, BellSeb, we have a lighthouse to save up for.

Class A drugs would actually solve pretty much all those problems.

You've obviously never watched Withnail and I.

Two large gins. Two pints of cider. Ice in the cider

I tried getting access to Class A, but it seems Thracian's previous indiscretions have ruined it for everybody.

I drank 3 pints and about 2 and half bottles of wine at a wedding on the weekend, it wasn't pleasant, the dance moves were more ludicrious then ever, i'm thinking of quitting at the end of the month for a month!!!

These are all valid. For exciting medical reasons I've never drank much, which has probably helped my wallet and waistline, but hasn't helped on the social front at times.

Nearly everyone I know is having a baby at the minute, which means the women aren't drinking at all, and the men for some reason are drinking more.

By my reckoning the lighthouse fund stands at around £17.24. I suspect the number of lighthouses in our budget remains small
