reynard Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 --------------------------Nielsen--------------------------Chambers-------McAuley------N'Gotty---------Mattock Kaabi-------Clemence--------Kishishev--------Hellings ---------------DJ Campbell-----Hume------------------- agree with quite a bit of this. not sure though about either chambersor hellings don't think either are good enough for a starting place. personally I think we need a new wide left player. also up front is fine as long as ball is played on the floor to feet but we need a target man on the bench to go with this team and I'm not sure we have one in the squad. (discounting cort). kaabi is the unknown factor here. have only seen him in the world cup at right back but think we can use his pace going forwards just as much. who would you have on the bench at this stage?
Daggers Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 Why's that? One hugely rubbish season Frequently out of position *Hoof* Today was the first game I can remember since Villa where I didn't want to throw a farmyard animal at him. If we start the season and Stearman is the best option we have at centre back then I will be very disappointed.
Dames Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 Henderson (The other 3 scare me) Stearman Ngotty Kisnorbo Mattock Kaebi Clem Weso Hayes Hume De Vries
Thracian Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 QUORN!!!! Fair enough you state that they're below a Champ team standard but any of our defenders would have looked solid. If we're gonna play 2 centre backs (i'd prefer 3) then it has to be 2 of Kiz/McCz/N'gottz imo. z Our defenders didn't look solid against Oadby. It's like you're clinging on to black and white television. And why three centre-backs?. Didn't you see enough of defence overload with Kelly? Fast players, fast passing, fast support is the way forward. Oh yes, and some fast minds.

Thracian Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 That's gotta be the dumbest thing you've come out with... misguided, exaggerated, many things could describe what you've said in the past, but this is the first time that I've thought dumb.It was in Sunderland, I personally think afew hundred is pretty good to what is effectively an away youth team match. You've got it wrong pal. The few hundred would be for a home match. There looked like fewer than 10 at Sunderland apart from the parents.

Daggers Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 I'm going to give everyone the benefit and assume they have all seen at least one friendly so far and can therefore automatically include the new players they saw...but K'Aebi? How does anyone here know what he'll be like? (Aside from trusting in 2.5minutes on Yootoob and a 14yr old called Brian who is posting and pretending to be Iranian) Until you've seen him walk on the pitch then you may as well stick with Hughes on the flank

I've just seen twice goals keeper of the year, not missed a game in top flight of Danish football for five hundred years, most valuable player in Scandinavian football, whiter hair than a supremacist Nielsen. Until people have seen him actually play there is no point in assuming he is going to be genius. You and me both hope that he is going to set us on fire down the right. Maybe he will. Until then, I can't pick him for my hypothetical starting team and I don't believe anyone else can either. At the end of the day, it's all bollocks innit.

weiba80 Posted 22 July 2007 Posted 22 July 2007 ---------------Nielson----------------Kaebi----N'gotty----Kisnorbo---Chambers Hume---Kishishev--Clemence---Hayes/Porter ---------DJ-------Fryatt------------ this line up looks exciting to me. just look at the right wing, so many teams are going to cack their pants at the thought of these 2 coming down the wing, and also gives us more striking options. and with kish and clem in the mid, we got 2 commanding players who are gonna get stuck in before they even reach our defence, my only worry is chambers at LB. need someone else there i feel, but over all i'd be happy with this line up and could see this being our revolution side...

Not a bad side but i would like to see mattock in side at left back as he is quality but porter and hayes are not good enough for this level, a quality left sided midfielder is the main priority i think!
Wooly Posted 22 July 2007 Posted 22 July 2007 Nielson Chambers N'Gotty McAuley / Kisnorbo Mattock / Sheehan Kaebi Clemence Kishishev / Weslowski Hayes Hume / Fryatt Campbell Backup: Logan / Henderson Stearman / Kenton / Maybury Hellings / Hughes Newton / Porter Cort / De Vries / Sappleton Seems an ok squad to me to be honest. I'd have liked to have signed a proper left winger (Grey? To have made it 4 Birmingham rejects? ), not sure Mattock is quite ready to be playing 40 games a season either?

Also would like weso to fit in somewhere as he looks great so far in pre season.
Lisburn Fox Posted 22 July 2007 Posted 22 July 2007 This is just my opinion of a decent line up of players already here more players means possible changes. However it will take all of MA/MM man management skills to keep all these players happy and motivated. I am confident we have a decent squad. I am feeling alot better than a few weeks ago.
