The Official Starting XI thread

I think the time has come to take this thread more respectfully lol I cant see many more signings so now is the time to try and sift through the 50 man squad and quick the first 16.

NIELSEN

CHAMBERS - KISNORBO - N`GOTTY - MATTOCK

KAEBI - CLEMENCE© - KISHISHEV - HAYES

CAMPBELL - CORT

Subs -

HENDERSON - McAULEY - WESO - NEWTON - HUME

I think Kisnorbo is banned isnt he so I`ll have McAuley in his place and Stearman in his place. The strange thing BTW is we could field two decent sides next season which is all good.

I notice people seem to be picking Carl Cort over Iain Hume in their prefered starting XI's

What are your reasons behind this>

I think campbell has a little more pace than hume so using him as a target ,and campbell to feed off him but definitly use hume as a a attcking midfielder as he tends to play pretty deep as it is

Logan/Nielsen

Chambers-----Kisnorbo-----N'Gotty/Stearman-----Mattock/New left back

Kaebi-----Kishishev/Weso-----Clemence----Hayes

Hume/Cort-----Campbell

I've not really seen enough of Nielsen to come to a conclusion on whether or not he should be included, hopefully when we go to Scotland, a decision shall be made there.

N'Gotty hasn't really done a lot wrong so far, but I feel that we be exposed for lack of pace at somepoint in the season, if so Stearman plays well there I think.

If Weso can stay fit, I'd really like to see him hold down a first team place this season, depending on how Clemence and Kishishev play together.

The Hume and Campbell partnership could become a little to much alike, so Cort would offer something different if he can get some match fitness. He could be the player to help Campbell get a little more space, as Cort would need to be marked because he's likely to win a lot in the air, we hope.

Pah!

Continuity of crap is what we need.

Hell - it's what City is all about

Daggers, you've convinced me.

I now see that these new players are just to maybe help around the training ground and with team morale.

I have seen the light.

We still have 12 of those that travelled to Portsmouth.

Nows the time for them to promise to put it right only to **** it up again.

It's tradition.

Oh, and why has no one heard a peep from The Birch? :dunno:

Yes please :)

Disappointed not to see Sheehan though :(

No I'd play 4-3-3 with Porter having licence to roam and special responsibility for creating chances and linking up play.

Chambers and Mattock are well capable of supporting attacks and providing some width while Porter would obviously have licence to provide width on the left if he so wishes.

People have talked about Hume playing "in the hole" but I think Porter is well suited to precisely that position and Hume would be able then to concentrate on his striking duties with Gradel and Porter likely to increase the number of chances he gets.

Stearman is energetic and skilled enough to help in defensive midfield when we attack giving us a team that is genuinely capable of pushing forward without losing shape.

:frusty: ffs!! porter in the hole and three up front?? so two man midfield then - that'll work well deep into winter when the balls sticking and the tackles are flying. no offence thracian - i enjoy your posts - but that is the stupidist idea i've ever heard that's not left peter taylor's cake-hole. let me make this perfectly clear - porter will not/should not/cannot be in the first team come first day.

for the record i expect:

Neilson

Chambers/Stearman/N'Gotty/Mattock

Kaebi/Clemence/Kishichev/Hayes

Cort/Campbell

Subs: Henderson, Kisborbo, Weslowski, Newton, Hume

the only real changes I expect are maybe kisnorbo straight into first team (may depend on fitness and stearman has looked good so far) and possibly weso getting into the first team as he's done himself a great service in the friendlies so far.

But we have only just mastered playing the right back at left back. Why would we want to do that. :P

i havent seen any of the new signings in action for leicester yet so i shall go out on a limb and guess what the team would/should look like.

I think so...can't see how it's a top 6 side though sadly. I hope i'm wrong.

I don't see why not. From everything I've seen MA will have them fit, combative and playing at a high tempo. He also gives the impression of being able to get everything out of people.

All that promises to be far more effective than the limp-wristed start we made to last season and if we can get an unbeaten run going that in itself can generate its own momentum.

We'll also have far better players on the bench than last season and therefore ought to be able to maintain our tempo. Having a team of people who can pass should mean we keep the ball longer and create more.

It's not just ability that's the key to a top six challenge, its single-minded focus. And that's what we'll have in abundance.

i'll be fuming if Hume doesn't start the 1st game of the season! can't believe some people are leaving him out!??

Same, especially when you see people putting Cort ahead of him :(

I quite like that line-up, i play Hume on the right in Football Manager and he is class! Few possible hiccups could be Chambers best position being RB, whether Wesoloski would offer more than Kishikev and whether Fryatt would be good enough, But apart from those minor concerns, nice looking line-up! Still prefer a better LM but hey i'm greedy!!

I agree, although I would defo sign Vincent Enyeama and Jason Scotland, they're are blatantly awesome because FM said so.
