General Smuts Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 From Daily Star Sunday (reliable i know!) 'Leicester have told goalkeeper Paul Henderson he can leave - and Swansea are keen to agree a deal with the australian, 31, who moved to the Walkers Stadium from Bradford.' Same paper said that Stephen Clemence is off to Southampton for £750k. Thoughts? EDIT: The People also says that QPR and Swansea are 'interested'.
Mr Happy Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 If this is true it will be a shame. I quite liked Hendo, thought he showed some (although not much) signs of quality last season especially villa cup game. Chances are if he does stay with us he'll never make it off the sub bench (or onto it though)
Durnerz Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 Not so bothered if he does go, but when exactly did we tell him he could leave? More rubbish from the Star methinks.
Webbo Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 It makes sense, we don't really need 3 keepers, Logan could develop into a top keeper, were as Hendo is 31 and we're more likely to get a fee(all be it a small one) for him.
Mort Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 Wouldn't be bothered to see him go at all, both he and Logan inspire no real confidence in me what so ever (though the least you could say for Logan is that as a young player he has scope to improve), but if we are getting rid of both him and Douglas then surely that would mean we'd have to look into bringing in another keeper in addition to Neilson (who I'll admit we have little to base an opinion on).
DB11 Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 I quite like him and I think he's a top keeper, but with Logan and this new keeper, I'd get rid of him for a decent fee.
Finnegan Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 I quite like him and I think he's a top keeper, but with Logan and this new keeper, I'd get rid of him for a decent fee. One of the many reasons no one takes you seriously.
Pete_foxes Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 Don't think we should get rid of them. Last season I felt he was poor at the start. But he did improve alot towards the end of the season and made some good saves. By no means is he an amazing goal keeper, but I think he could be good back up
Joe. Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 Henderson's so overrated. In my opinion we'd be good to get rid of him, we don't need three keepers.
Tubes Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 i thought he come on well towards the end of last season but with us having logan and nielsen aswell i wouldnt mind him going for a fee as long as logan will at least be playing in the reserves if hes on the bench for the first team so he can still improve
DB11 Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 One of the many reasons no one takes you seriously. They don't?
Pete_foxes Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 Henderson's so overrated. In my opinion we'd be good to get rid of him, we don't need three keepers. We don't, but I wouldn't feel confident having Logan as our number two he was worse than Hendo last season.
davieG Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 We don't, but I wouldn't feel confident having Logan as our number two he was worse than Hendo last season. Opinion or Fact
Pete_foxes Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 Opinion or Fact In my opinion Hendo was better than Logan last season. The performances Logan put out towards the end of last season were really poor. Other people may think otherwise.

Simi Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 I thought that Southampton didn't have much money Maybe they're banking on the sale of Bale.
Father Ted Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 I don't see this happening. 1) He is CURRENTLY our no.1 goalkeeper. 2) Jimmy Nielsen might end up as no.2 or no.3 especially as pre-season training hasn't started yet and so MA and MM haven't seen him play. 3) Was he not linked to Villa and Wigan at January?
Pete_foxes Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 Indeed they do Hendo's not great by any means. Did you think Logan did well?
Brainy Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 I don't see this happening.2) Jimmy Nielsen might end up as no.2 or no.3 especially as pre-season training hasn't started yet and so MA and MM haven't seen him play. Sorry, but I doubt they'd sign somebody they've never seen play.

DB11 Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 I find it strange that in January Villa were linked to him and in July Swansea are
filbertway Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 Hendo improved alot last year and looked quite sound, we can of course do a lot better and get a better all round keeper, hopefully Neilsen is that keeper. ( spell it wrong?) I'd keep Logan for another season or 2 (as out of the two he has the potential) and see if he can improve, he really needs to improve his distribution (accuracy and when to actually kick or throw the ball) and what he does for corners and free kicks into the box as he seems a little indecisive. His long kicks could come in very handily this season though, if he can pick out cort for flick ons (ala walker to deano) to a quality pacy striker (Elvis), it would murder defences.

You were going so well until then
