Koke Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 Hello Leicester City fans. I am another Iranian who has just joined your support club, thanks to Kaabi signing. Football has always been the most popular sport in Iran but the pro league is only seven years old, so we will see even more Iranian gems playing in Europe. I am particularly a fan of Kaabi. The first time I saw him play for the TM (Team Melli)[ You guys should know that 'team melli' is the name for the Iranian national team] several years ago, I thought this kid is good enough to play for a top European club. If he had been playing in better clubs during his early and formidable years, believe in me, you would not even dream of signing him. But as it happens, he played in Iran with basic facilities and unsophisticated methods etc. But he is a diamond in need of some TLC. I know you guys are struggling with his name so his name is pronounced Ka (little pause) be. Like 'can be' without pronouncing N, but not like cabbie. I really hope he gets on alright in the team and hope to see him play regularly. Cheers I got the concept of it. Its quite simple, when writing his name in arabic this letter is included ( ﻉ ) hence the little pause.
Roninho Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 he spends alot of time on the floor doesn't he Well he draws a lot of fouls to himself. He frustrates defenders. Iran has capitalized on that greatly, in very important matches! Hope you guys have a good free-kick taker! By the way, you guys just added a huge fan base to your club with this signing! Congrats on that. So who takes free kicks for you guys? Does Leicester traditionally use the flanks often? And who would you say is your strongest attacking link from last season? (Sorry for all the questions, I haven't seen Leicester since the early 90s) Regards,

Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 Makes sense now that the Pompey game is all-ticket. Those sailors aren't best pleased with the Iranians at the moment.

This summer is a fresh start and the start of Leicester City Football Club IMO. The last 3-4 years have been repressed to the depths of hell.

Good about the fan base hope theirs fake kits in the making Flanks! we havent had any system to be honest. Attacking link probably hume as he looks dangerous and can score from anywhere.
Teammelli Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 http://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/55631,iran-...h-socceroo.aspx If Australia meet Iran in the Asian Cup, Patrick Kisnorbo may play against his new club teammate Hoessein Kaebi with Leicester signing the exciting Iranian winger on a two-year deal. "While I was away on holiday we thought the deal had gone dead because there has been Premiership interest. But I had an agreement with him before I went away that he would definitely come here. He went to play a warm up game ahead of the Asian Cup, and this was the first window of opportunity for him to come,†the Foxes manager Martin Allen told his club's website. "When he played the other day against Jamaica he was voted man of the match. Of course, the Premier League scouts were there watching, so for the past couple of days it has been a question of getting him quietly into the country and bringing him up from Heathrow airport without anybody else hijacking the deal. "It's a relief that we have got him." Kaebi, 21, has made over 50 appearances for Iran.
Gené and Tonic Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 Could be interesting. Still hoping Kisnorbo is still going to be with us come the start of the season though.
Rocky Dennis Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 Been working away so only just caught up on all this Kaabi Mania! I cant fookin beleive it, what a talent!! Well Done Milan, this is more like it. Anyone know where you can get an Iran Flag??
maddog Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 what a player!!! i cant wait to see him next season!!! Kaebi is going to destroy, out pace and rip all the weak championship defences. Seeing him in action has made me truly believe Leicester will finish in the top six. Even if it's 0-0 at home and Leicester are playing awful, get him on and we are guranteed to score goals with his bursts of pace going forward. What a signing probably the best signing we have got, at least in the last 11 years or so since ive been supporting Leicester.
Guest Posted 7 July 2007 Posted 7 July 2007 KAABI STAR!WELL IMPRESSED WITH THIS VID OF HIM He looks great going forward and looks like he can play practically anywhere including up front!! However he also looks like spending half the season suspended with tackles like those!!
lee7 Posted 7 July 2007 Posted 7 July 2007 he looks great going forward and looks like he likes to tackle
Sparky Posted 7 July 2007 Posted 7 July 2007 skillful quick and enjoys a tackle , hopefully hes gonna be a big player for us

DB11 Posted 7 July 2007 Posted 7 July 2007 "He is very slight and often falls over." A bit of a problem for a right-back. If he was a striker, he could get away with being airy-fairy and spending half the match on the floor. Urm... let's play him as a striker!
abouzar Posted 7 July 2007 Posted 7 July 2007 sorry guys my internet went down for a day and i been busy since.. had even written a reply.. with regards to him playing on the right wing.. in Iran we have Mehdi Mahdavikia (nicknamed the rocket!) on our right wing.. he has been playing in the bundesliga for 8 years.. been through two worldcups with us and has proven himself at the highest level (champions league against juve etc and worldcup esp in 98 against usa).. so that's why Kaebi never had a shot at the right wing position in the national team anyway.. but Mahdavikia has been used by his club as a right back a lot and there is a strong possibility Mahdavikia and Kaebi will swap positions for the upcoming Asian Cup games.. so he might get some more experience on the wing before coming over .. as far as watching the games are concerned.. I myself am going to be watching the games on iransportspress.com the stream quality is quite good an I've found it to be reliable.. but there's quite a few different ways to watch.. you could watch it from tapesh on http://www.glwiz.com/MediaCenterPage.aspx but seeing it's free I don't know how reliable it would be once a lot ofpeople start using it.. i think persianfootball.com has some showing as well..
