Head Honcho Posted 29 July 2007 Posted 29 July 2007 Do me a favour I wish people would stop banging on about how good this guy is supposed to be, or any other player they know sod all about for that matter! Take my word for it if he was as good as most of you make out he'd be signing for a Premier League Club. .....and don't get me started on Mattock OK I will Good prospect yes! Regular in the first team next season no! Until they or any other supposed saviours are lauded to the extent they are, maybe it's better we see them play a few (or more than four in Mattocks case) games in this division first!

Head Honcho Posted 29 July 2007 Posted 29 July 2007 you didnt have to start a new topic did you ? Is there already a topic on dickheads bigging up our players then?

I don't have a problem with getting excited but some of the posts bigging some of our signings up have been without any foundation whatsoever!

Brainy Posted 29 July 2007 Posted 29 July 2007 Link please Leicester have signed Iran defender Hoessein Kaebi, who played at the 2006 World Cup, for an undisclosed fee. The Foxes claim they have beaten off competition from four unnamed Premier League clubs to sign the 21-year-old on a two-year contract from Persepolis. BBC
NorthernFox Posted 29 July 2007 Posted 29 July 2007 I don't have a problem with getting excited but some of the posts bigging some of our signings up have been without any foundation whatsoever! Have you got any optimism left or have you used it all up on pessimism?
Thracian Posted 29 July 2007 Posted 29 July 2007 Head Honcho may be a bit dampening but he has a point about these two. Everything I've read relating to Ka'ebi of late seems at odds with the wonderful clips I've seen of him on video and I also worry he'll have a psychological comedown after the Asia Cup anyway. And I've mentioned many times that Mattock is some way from the finished article and that people seem to be expecting a bit too much of him too soon. Cobbo's concerned about burnout but it's not so much that that worries me. What with fussy referees and endless substitutions there are more stops in football matches now than there on on the London Underground and it is 50-50 that an outfield player will be subbed anyway. But physically/mentally strong enough for the task or otherwise, he still has things to learn and I can well see him sharing the left-back role with Sheehan unless there's a further signing. If not he is still a way off being our next Richie Norman and will take time to reach his peak.
Webbo Posted 29 July 2007 Posted 29 July 2007 Have you got any optimism left or have you used it all up on pessimism? HH has a point, people are bigging up Kaebi before they've even seen him, a few weeks ago it was Hellings but that's gone quiet all of a sudden. I'm optimistic for the season but lets see some of the players in a competitive match before we start calling them world beaters.

You may well be correct but inside yourself are you not feeling the beginning of that unquantifiable belief that YES this WILL be the year that OUR CHOSEN MEN will FINALLY restore OUR club to its rightful place...

I was till I saw how little firepower we started with against Kilmarnock. My mood will brighten when I see our team packs the potential for 80 goals a season.
Ric Flair Posted 30 July 2007 Author Posted 30 July 2007 Good god, that boy likes to voice his opinion. He rates himself very highly and I can't see him liking it too much if Allen wants to use him sparingly to adjust to English football. I really want him to be a massive success here, but part of me get's the feeling that it will end in tears and he'll be back in Asia before next summer. Prove me wrong Hossein, you've blatantly got the talent to absolutely piss this league.

The People's Hero Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 And I've mentioned many times that Mattock is some way from the finished article and that people seem to be expecting a bit too much of him too soon. Oh right. I wonder who might be responsible for all the exaggerated hype? You wonder why people think you're a joke and you come out with stuff like this.
Thracian Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 Oh right. I wonder who might be responsible for all the exaggerated hype? You wonder why people think you're a joke and you come out with stuff like this. 17,090 posts and I am still waiting for a genuinely relevant, interesting or thought provoking comment that is not laced with your constant popularity-seeking but cheap vitriol.
Fox in a Box Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 Hossein K'Aebi along with the other 11 signings have to prove themselves, no hype from me. but I do hope he's better than Joe Hamill

I wonder who might be responsible for all the exaggerated hype? You wonder why people think you're a joke and you come out with stuff like this. To be fair, Thracian's hardly mentioned Mattock at all, and when he has, it's been to say Sheehan's just as good in his own way, or something of the sort. It's genuinely puzzled me, since Mattock's always seemed one of our brightest prospects and yet King gets more of a mention.

It's genuinely puzzled me, since Mattock's always seemed one of our brightest prospects and yet King gets more of a mention. King was mentiioned in the context of last season when we had no creativity at all in midfield and no goals coming from that department either. He was mentioned because of his ability to ghost into the penalty box and score goals - including goals with his head whioch is another ability we were lacking. Remarkably those same problems remain but there's no way King is likely to challenge Clemence, Kishishev and Wesolowski for a central midfield place considering at least two of them are virtually guaranteed a starting place unless I'm much mistaken. Mattock IS a smashing prospect but the big word is prospect.

To be fair, once these youngsters get in to the first team and become first choice, Thracian moves on to the next victim!!
Geo V Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 We have seen a few clips of the lad and its only natural to get excited about someone who can run with the ball and keep it using that word that has been missing in years, skill!! Lets see the lad play for us as he must be useful, having managed to be capped at 16 I think it was and has around 50 caps already. He cant be that poor with those sorts of stats, even for a footballing nation that isnt that strong in Iran. BTW, the Iranian fans idolize him which is usually a decent way of judging a players ability.
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 I'm desperate for K'aebi to rape some ass in this league and become settled in the midlands, before raping plenty more asses
