Looks a quite brilliant player

I think he's gonna be big at Leicester.

He is good going forward and also goes into the tackles. That's what I like to see in players. :P:cool:

You guys should follow him in the Asian cup. I think he'll be playing as a right-winger. You'll love watching him and you'll know what to expect. Plus, we play the most attractive football in Asia (IMO)! His first game will be on Wednesday.

On a separate note, are there many Iranians out there in Leicester. I'm asking because I have a strong feeling he'll get homesick and I think that could effect his performance greatly! It happened to Karimi (our best player) when he moved to Bayern Munich. By the way, if you watch Iran play, keep an eye on the Kaabi (#13) Karimi (#8) combination. (Karimi's called the Maradona of Asia for a reason.)

Watch Kaabi's run and cross on the 48th second. (He was playing RW)

Why the hell are Iranians talking about Ali Karimi on here? Go back to our own forum lol.

Kaabi may not start in the cup, but if he does there are sure to be highlights available for anybody who is interested.

i rekon he will be awesome we will get in the playoffs, but then lose in the playoff final and he will move to a premiership club

- Interview with Kaebi"

In an interview with Hossein Kaebi, the unsettled Iranian star in Asian Cup Tournament expresses his frustrations about Iran's Asian Cup campaign failure and his benching experience in Asian Cup 2007:

*You clearly did not have a satisfying Asian Cup tournament. What is your take on this?

What can I say? I experienced the lowest point of my career in this Tournament. All the players tries hard, but we played poorly and got poor results. We failed again and this time we were the cause of our failure.

*What about previous Tournaments? Who else caused us our failure?

In Asian Cup 2004, they eliminated us. We deserved to be in Final, but they did not let that happen. But this time it was completely our fault.

*What was the reason you were not in the team line-up?

Not line-up, 'tactical puzzle'!! The reason lies starting from last year. I have not played in National team for a year now and never complained. They told me, I was not suitable for 3-5-2 formation, and when the system changes to 4-4-2, I can play. But that did not happen. I have 7 years of International caps with National team but recently I am branded as a weak spot.

*Many believe that Kaebi's benchingwarming was unfair.

Apparently their say is not important. One man's belief was important that he would say "Kaebi is weak and he has to sit on the bench."

*Was that one man right?

Well if he was right, this strong team would not get eliminated early in the Tournament.

*Many experts believe Mahdavikia would have higher effeciency as right winger. What is your tought on that?

Mehdi and I have played with each other for 7 years and we made the best right wing of Asia.If I was not going to get playing time, it was Javad Kazemian's right to play but they did not play him either. I have heard they say, they want to destroy Kaebi, but I want to tell these guys that I will not get destroyed but improve day by day. I challenged likes of Figo and Ronaldo in WC 2006 and the very same people highly rated me and criticized the decision to subsitute me in Portugal match but how come I have weakened in their eye now?

*What would happen if Branko was our coach in Asian Cup 2007?

Dont doubt that we would win the title. Branko should have won AC title with Iran in 2004 but we were unfairly eliminated. He was a professional coach. Not just him, Faraki, Dadkan, Daei. It was proved to all Daei critics that no one can match his quality. He was not only good on the pitch, but when he would talk to me, he would improve my motivation alot.Iran team was the best in Asia under Branko, winning Asian Games, becoming third in Asia, qualifying for World Cup. What else did we want? Denizli was a really good coach too. I will never forget these two coaches. If either of Branko or Denizli had this team, I would gauarantee a Asian Cup trophy.

*What were these two coaches' qualities?

They would never prefer any player over another. Coach should have the independence to make decisions. We did not even have concentration in our hotel. The team was surrounded by so many people, that even I who didnt play, lost my concentration let alone the fixed players. But I could become fixed in the line-up.

*How?

I could just go to the coaching team and talk to them, like many other players, and I would get starting line-up. But I believe in my strength and if someone does not believe in me, I dont insist on changing his mind.

I have played for 7 years and I have time for more playing time, too but I wanted Iran team to succeed. I would do my best if I was given the chance. Im like that, I will do anything for Iran's success.

*How was the team atmosphere?

It was very good. There was no problem among players, we were all friends with each other, but it was extremely crowded around the team.

*Was it Ghalenoie's fault?

I have no say but we should have won South Korea easily. After all these trainings, elimination at this stage is a disaster.

*When you returned from England to the camp in Malaysia, how were you welcomed?

All the players congratulated me but no one from coaching team congratulate even. No one asked, "how did your contract go?". I just saw one person shaking head and.. nevermind..

*Iran's tactical formation was debateable. What is your take on this?

They did not use Branko's formation, because if they would succeed they would be labled as copying Branko's system. They intentionally changed it. If we were playing with Branko's system, we would succeed.

*If this coaching team stay in charge, would you still play for Iran team?

If they invite me, I will join with all my heart. We are not enemies. I love to wear the jersey of Iran National team. I said these things just for people. But I have not talked yet. If I talk, even if all Iran's newspapers publish it, they cannot fully cover it.

*You mean there were so many problems in the team?

Many problems. The problems are so many, it would fill all the papers.

*Which team were the best Asian Cup 2007?

Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Both were very good.

*Iran's best player of the Tournament?

Everyone was good, but Javad Nekounam and Jalal Hosseini played better.

Being very selfish I am glad that Kaebi was on the bench, that way he wont be so tired for the start of Leicester's season. He will be hungry as he will believe he has something to prove to his international manager. From leicesters point of view this has got to be good.

Sorry if that upsets any Iranians.

When does he join up with our squad?

This guys talent is not in question.

His ability to follow instruction and have discipline is extremely questionable.

Have you read this interview. He seems even a little malicious with his comments. Lot's of things are unfair, wrong and others are to blame.

I will not disclose my source within the club but his words were 'a bit of a hot-head to say the least' my reply was, 'fu*king tapped then, yeah?'

There was then a look, poosibly of acknowledgement, a smirk but no verbal reply, prior to the gentleman turning his attentions pitchside.

This guy has been rated for ages and has had connections with other English clubs in the past and not been taken on for some reason.

Methinks a livewire.

Get him on the pitch, I can't wait to see him play.

Yeah he'll make friends quicker than Prince Phillip as an ambassador for diversity, equality and cultural relations.

It'll give new meaning to the phrase " Right wing " / " He plays on the right "

It could start a civil war between Leicestershire boroughs.

I wonder if he's in favour of playing Porter as part of a diamond formation?

I have no doubt he is that anal, he's losing sleep about that very subject.

Do you think he will come up with a scoring system to aid his decision?

True professionals have methodologies such as this.

Wow. Thats a pretty angry interview, very direct as well. Obviously he has no problem voiceing his opinions.

Im guessing Bigboy is on about the Asian Cup, won today, by Iraq, not Iran
