These concerts are a joke right???

Who do these so called pop stars think they are telling us mere mortals to curb our CO2 emissions etc.. when they have their Bentleys and private jets whisking them from venue to venue!!!

I wonder how much Co2 is being pumped into the planet whilst all these concerts are being staged?

The electricity used will not harm the planet eh?

The cars, buses etc..being used to transport all these people to the stadiums...don't they create Co2???

Call me an old cynic but Al GOre should fcuck off back to USA (The biggest ommiters of CO2 in the Workld!!! whilst the Uk is only 2%) ) and sort his own Country out before telling the rest of the world to!!!!:angry:

Well said.

I agree that the USA want to tell the world how to save the planet but just as long as the dont have to give up their 5 litre V8's.

I think Jimmy Carr summed it up pretty well " sure I dont mind putting a newspaper in the recyle bin but the planet would benefit more if Shell stopped drilling for oil in the Artic" kinda puts it into perspective.

I presume the bands are walking to the concerts?

I think they walk off their private jets on their own. Though I think Genesis needed wheelchairs!!

How crap are the crowd? The atmosphere looks pretty shite, The only band that seemed to get them going (And when I use the term "get them going" loosly) was Kasabian. I'm not sure whether it something to do with the BBC coverage/sound, e.t.c or the crowd are just generally poor.

I probably bias but Kasabian have been the best for me!

But yes I don't agree with any of this the reason i'm watching is for the music, not the principle, as many people are.

I agree the crowd has hardly got going. I think the issue is that if you go to a Kasabian gig everyone there is a Kasabian fan and will know the words so will get into the band. At a gig like Live Earth some will have come to see Madonna or genesis or the Chilli Peppers but not necessarily all three and may not appreciate or even know trhe music of other bands. Hence sh*t atmosphere!!! :punk::punk:

i don't think the crowd has much in the way of mikes on it, which is a shame. the chillis were great, gutted they bottled showing metallica looking forward to spinal tap though!

It was good of the BBC to cut the 'Beastie Boys' short so we could see 'Xuxu' from Brazil.

One of only 2 bands I actually wanted to see!!

I was gutted!!

At least they showed all of the Foo Fighters who were immense to say the least but what the hell were Gogol Bordello doing on stage with Madonna!!!!!

BBC are useless sometimes. Beastie Boys were cut short as was Metallica (not that i'm into them but I fancied watching them) who were cut short so we could watch Katie Melua or Paolo fookin' Nutini!!!! :frusty:

In what bits I watched I also got quite annoyed at how they put up the titles of songs that were blatantly incorrect!!

I was enjoying watching the 'Pussy Cat Dolls' when my daughters told me that the one with the red hair was a trans-sexual . They were having me on , right  .

Just got back from London, i went to it.

I have to say, while the atmosphere may have looked poor on TV, when the decent bands were on it was very very good there. I couldnt get standing tickets, so was sitting, which was a bit of a shame, but better than no tickets!!

I also got on TV!! Did anyone watch from the start?? When they showed interviews with people on the BBC before the music actually started, me and my mate were the first ones!!! We just said we were there for the music, and werent paying to go just because of the whole save the climate thing!!

It was a good day tho - Kasabian, RHCP, Black Eyed Peas were the best, and while Foo Fighters were good, i thought the lead singer went a bit too mental at times, just shouted a lot, but were still good.

Were the Pussycat Girls the ones that were more noticable for their lack of dress atire than their musical talent. I wouldn't buy any of their records but if they decided to give up singing and go on the game they'd be worth spending the price of an albumn on.

Some may disagree but I thought Madonna was good. I watched nearly all of it as I was on 6pm-6am.

Not so keen on the bands that were on America too much rap. Best of them was Roger Waters and The Police. I'm showing my age now.. There were some bands I hadn't heard of who were OK and quite a few I cant remember the names or what they did but overall it kept me awake whilst on the job.
