Too many players have been out of form in this test.

There can be no excuses. India have been the better side in this game.

We need to regroup in time for the Oval - and that means bye bye Tremlett and Anderson and bringing in Hoggard and Broad, both of whom would have taken a stack of wickets on this pitch. Ditching Bell and putting in Shah or Bopara might be a decent move too.

The selectors have messed up big-time (just like they did on the Ashes tour) and have a lot of grovelling to do.

As long as he is bowling from the opposite end from that umpire who never gives LBW`s! Lets all pray for rain instead!

It's not been very often recently we've had to pray for rain.... it would be funny though with them on the verge of winning.

Sounds familiar....

yeh yeh, don't go on about it. That was only your 5th test win in this country ever!! You had to win one some time. Why do you support India anyway?

Were you born in England? Were you brought up in England? Have you milked this country all your life?

The game was won/lost with the toss.

England mentally aren't the side they were two years ago though. A couple of changes wouldn't go amiss for the final game - Broad to bat at eight and Shah/Bopara as already suggested

Both sides need to get a grip behaviour-wise. If you're going to sledge, sledge like an Aussie - not all this jelly beans and shoulder barging bollocks.

You can't beat abit of sledging.

Mind you shoulder barging in cricket is abit gay!!!!

Unless it ends in a free for all

Personally I'd like to see Bopara bedded into the side. When Flintoff comes back, we're not going to drop a batsman for him. Hopefully not, anyway. With Collingwood and Bopara in the side and capable of 5-10 overs each of medium pace should the need arise, Flintoff coming back at No.8 and not No.6 becomes much less of a problem.

I think Bell will get one last chance, and Strauss still needs a century despite some slightly more encouraging innings. If Strauss is very poor again and Bell shines (as I think and hope he will) Strauss might get the boot for the winter tours.

Not just me who rates Bell over Strauss, right?

Absolutely.

I think Flintoff should have been down the order some time ago. If they could ever get themselves fit, Freddie and Simon Jones would add great batting depth to the England line-up. Factor in Broad in 12-24 months and you've got a bloody good tail from 8-10 (although I'm not sure where that leaves Harmison and Hoggard, assuming Monty is now a cert at no.11).

Maybe that's a bit OTT?

If Strauss gets the bullet, who would you like to see open with Cook?
