Dr The Singh Posted 9 August 2007 Posted 9 August 2007 Evington_Raj would appear to disagree with that. He's entitled to his shit and just as i'm entitled to mine!! What fooks me off is most of these pro Indian Brits have never been to India and most know nothing about it's political stance, it's human rights violations, poverty levels and it's discrimination of minoritites eg yet to this day India (better known as Hindustan) will not allow UN, Amnesty International and various other groups into the Punjab..................I wonder what they have to hide!!! Mera bharat mahan!!!
RowlattsFox Posted 9 August 2007 Posted 9 August 2007 You make your own luck pal......Excuses,excuses excuses...you should work in politics!!!! P.S apparently i've been told, that England would have bowled anyway today,so that makes a mockery of your number 3...so only 2 excuses.....i'll let you think of some more...... Vaughan said at the toss he would like to have had a bat, it was Ian Botham on commentary that said he wouldnt minded us bowling first.
Raj Posted 9 August 2007 Posted 9 August 2007 Seems to me they want to be seen as English as well, hence why they decided to play for England. Like i said thats fair enough, but its like that guy who played for Port Vale(cant remember his name) gut he played for Trinidad and Tobago at football. And there are numerous other examples where people have played for other teams just cos they had a grannie who visited Wales or something! When we have kids ,i would live them to play England at any sports. But by me wanting India to win, does that give me less of a right to live here???
Raj Posted 9 August 2007 Posted 9 August 2007 Vaughan said at the toss he would like to have had a bat, it was Ian Botham on commentary that said he wouldnt minded us bowling first. Ok sorry,i thought it was someone who said it
Dr The Singh Posted 9 August 2007 Posted 9 August 2007 Listen pal....ive got people in my friends and family who support England in this series and some (like me!0 who want India to win.Its a matter of choice. I love Leicester, and i too was born and bred here and love being here. BUt in my view ,whilst i am called paki,wog...etc....by bigits i can never claim to be British 100%. If i said i was Britis to some of the people at work they would laugh at me. They even say to me'your boys are doing alright today" You feel 100% british and support England and would be offended if you were called an Indian, good luck to you. Yeah, you've already mentioned that, the fact is that you assumedPanesar and Bopara as Indians, how do you know there Indians or want anything to do with the country!! I have no issues with you supporting anyone, i'm happy for being a India supporter, I too have mixed supporters in my home and it adds good banter, just don't go around making assumptions!!!
Raj Posted 9 August 2007 Posted 9 August 2007 He's entitled to his shit and just as i'm entitled to mine!!What fooks me off is most of these pro Indian Brits have never been to India and most know nothing about it's political stance, it's human rights violations, poverty levels and it's discrimination of minoritites eg yet to this day India (better known as Hindustan) will not allow UN, Amnesty International and various other groups into the Punjab..................I wonder what they have to hide!!! Mera bharat mahan!!! I have been to India,my missus has alot of family there, unfortunately mine have all passed away that did live there. i cant say i know much about the political stuff there, but i do know the way the country is run is not right and it is run by corrupt buggers... But in my own eyes i am a British asian....whether that is right or wrong i don't now but i cant change how i feel... Like i said in a previous post,i always support England at evrything else its just when they play India. Probably similar to others who live here and were born her who still support Scotland,Wales,jamaica,etc... Is it wrong?????
Milky Posted 9 August 2007 Posted 9 August 2007 Ok sorry,i thought it was someone who said it Botham was the only one that wanted to bowl. He's getting shitloads of stick from Atherton, Gower etc...
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 August 2007 Posted 9 August 2007 Like i said thats fair enough, but its like that guy who played for Port Vale(cant remember his name) gut he played for Trinidad and Tobago at football. And there are numerous other examples where people have played for other teams just cos they had a grannie who visited Wales or something! When we have kids ,i would live them to play England at any sports. But by me wanting India to win, does that give me less of a right to live here??? Birchall played for T&T as he is shit and it was his only shot at international football, Monty would get into Indias team, they're bowling line up really aint all that.
Raj Posted 9 August 2007 Posted 9 August 2007 Yeah, you've already mentioned that, the fact is that you assumedPanesar and Bopara as Indians, how do you know there Indians or want anything to do with the country!!I have no issues with you supporting anyone, i'm happy for being a India supporter, I too have mixed supporters in my home and it adds good banter, just don't go around making assumptions!!! fair enough,i dont know for sure if they are. If Saj mahmood was playing i'd say he was a pakistani, like wise if someone called O'Mahoney was playing i'd say he was an Irishman, or Smith-Jones would be a welshman?? Im probably showing my bigoted side. At the end of the day, someone like Amir Khan, the Boxer has his family and friends waving BOTH the pakistan AND england flags and he epitomises FOR ME,how it should be done. Don't forget your roots but be proud and embrace where you are now!!!
Raj Posted 9 August 2007 Posted 9 August 2007 Birchall played for T&T as he is shit and it was his only shot at international football, Monty would get into Indias team, they're bowling line up really aint all that. Thats if he would want to play for india??? See,i dont mind getting hammered by you guys but a discussion like this is good(as long as Milky Joe doesn't keep slagging me off!) I enjoy getting other peoples ideas on this sort of things(NOt the cricket but the'why do you support India"stuff) I dont mean to offend anyone and im sorry if i have but im just saying it from th heart!

I didn't say that, and I'd prefere it if you didn't suggest that I did. I was pointing out that they would like to be seen as Englishman, which is their choice.
Raj Posted 9 August 2007 Posted 9 August 2007 Gotta do some work now so i'll reply to any offensive comment by my mate milky joe later.. P.s THIRD NPOWER TEST, The Oval: India 188-1 v England Come on INDIA.....

Raj Posted 9 August 2007 Posted 9 August 2007 I didn't say that, and I'd prefere it if you didn't suggest that I did.I was pointing out that they would like to be seen as Englishman, which is their choice. No MP i wasn't suggesting you did say anything like that, sorry. Its just there are many people with dual natinalities who could if they wanted play for 2 countries,if i was good at football i would have been able to play for England or India, but its how your heart and soul feel isn't it??? Im sure there are people all over the world who were born and bred in countries they are in now,but don't have any affiliation to it?? I love this country and am proud to be a part of it...i just want India to win....mind you if England start winning.... Right...gotta work...
Dr The Singh Posted 9 August 2007 Posted 9 August 2007 I have been to India,my missus has alot of family there, unfortunately mine have all passed away that did live there.i cant say i know much about the political stuff there, but i do know the way the country is run is not right and it is run by corrupt buggers... Cut things short, like I have said before, most pro indian brits don't know shit about India, maybe if they did that would change there mind!!! I don't recollect Scots or Jamaicans having caused mass acts of genocide within the last odd 30 years, and yet not one person has been charged or put on triail for there deeds, justice in the great hindustan!!!!! I know my origins mate and I know my people's history, and that's one major reason why I do not support India!!!
Geo V Posted 9 August 2007 Posted 9 August 2007 Thats if he would want to play for india???See,i dont mind getting hammered by you guys but a discussion like this is good(as long as Milky Joe doesn't keep slagging me off!) I enjoy getting other peoples ideas on this sort of things(NOt the cricket but the'why do you support India"stuff) I dont mean to offend anyone and im sorry if i have but im just saying it from th heart! Its a weird situation for us lot I was born in England and am proud of my Anglo roots but I have been brought up by Greek-Cypriot parents who are are also proud of where they come from and have passed that on to us as all of us can speak the lingo and are familiar with parts of our history which are important. As for sports its weird but mixed !! If England are playing I`ll be cheering them on all day, however, if a Greek athelete ends up running against a Brit then I am cheering on the Greek. In football, I was cheering on England to beat Greece in that qualifier when Becks scored in the 100th minute and even though I have a favourite team in Greece (Olympiakos), I was cheering on Gerrard and the rest to beat them to progress in the Champions League. However, if there was a one off game in say the World Cup and the two met, I`d go back to my original roots and support the Greek or Cypriot side. I think part of feeling that way has a little to do with not being regarded as a full Englishman whether its because of the harmless anti-Greek jokes that may have come my way over the years or the fact that I have come head to head with quite a few racists who make you think that this may be your home at the moment but ideally many of the locals dont like you shagging there sisters and buying houses and having succesful businesses ! I think its a bit of everything! Im looking forward to the vociferous One dayers where thousands of Brit based Indians will be out in force cheering on the Indians as it will make for a great atmosphere. We created a crazy atmosphere in England and actually around the world when Greece somehow won Euro 2004 and hit the streets in force and it was amazing how many came out of the woodwork to cheer on either the land of there birth or there parents homeland. It doesnt mean anyone hates England but just that we have multi-choices As for the game, we are fooked bigtime!!

P.S...I'm in a little posse of Indian supporters who will be wearing our Indian tops with pride...BUT im taking my England football top just in case.....

Funny you should say that cus that's the type of treatment, if not worse Sikhs and minorities get treated by the Indian government, your lucky that your ancestrial land treats you well!!!

Even that is weird mate! Many Cypriots dont want anything to do with Greece and Cyprus`s biggest side, the dodgyly named Omonia FC sing a song that basically goes along the lines of "Whoever is a Blue, is the son of a whore" . Good old translations! Many Cypriots hate the fact that there Island has been split apart by the Turks without more resistance from Greece in particular and wont class themselves as Greek which confuses us even more. Add to that when we go back to Cyprus we get called Charlies (after Prince Charles) by the locals who realize our Greek isn't as natural as theirs and we are even more confused!! Im confused!!!

Surely if anyone can sort out the trouble in India that you may be referring to it the PM who is a Sikh himself http://pmindia.nic.in/

Bloody 'ell Geo that makes 2 of us!!!!...... I think we ought to stick with the Cricket......which is at close of play India 316-4
Dr The Singh Posted 10 August 2007 Posted 10 August 2007 Surely if anyone can sort out the trouble in India that you may be referring to it the PM who is a Sikh himself http://pmindia.nic.in/ Raj, don't get me started, he is no Sikh, he can't even speak punajbi yet alone gurmuukhi, he is a puppet, he wasn't even elected, everyone knows whos' in control (Sonia Gandhi). He is a disgrace to Sikhs, and his popularity among Sikhs is nil, a prime example of this is when he came to rally for the COngress party during Punjab State elections, and had the lowest turnout for any PM!! As a Sikh you would have thought he would put to parliament a very aggressive arguement against the French turban ban issue, yet parliament discussions lasted only a couple of minutes, and yet the PM did not intervene and contact Chirac himself. Indian history will give him a glowing rapport but as my Sig says the Lions will tell there own history, the true history, one must remember other 'so called sikhs' such as KPS Gill, and Brar who killed 10's of thousands of innocent people and are labbellled as great patriots and Supercop etc, and Indira Gandhi, who's actions lead to the desecration of the SIkhs most holy site and turmiol to millions of innocent people, yet they name airports, universities and have remembrance day named after such a evil women!! Name me one person that has been charged for thses people's actions!! It seem you know nothing about Indian history, politics or it's deeds!! I suggest you research it, and I would also suggest like Prof Ryhs Davids that you don't believe the poop that is written by pro-indian historians: "...They have relied for their information about the Indian peoples too exclusively on the brahmin books. And these, partly because of the natural antipathy felt by the priests towards the free republics, partly because of the later date of the most of the extant priestly literature, and especially of the law books, ignore the real facts" Also, One is not SIkhs just by name but by actions!!!!!
