I actually have a bit of sympathy for the Leeds fans. I don't like them or their club, but all of this is not their making. They have had no input into any of the administration or sale of the club. Up until a few days ago, they weren't even going to be allowed to play league football, which would have meant no more football club, no more going to watch their team on a saturday.

As a Leicester fan, I'm not going to pretend I was sad to see them go down because I wasn't, quite the contrary, but to see them go down for non-footballing reasons, I feel for them.

They don't want Bates at their club, but are stuck with no input or influence. Yes they should have a 15 point deduction because it would be wrong for them to have the potential for promotion with Bates, but I do have a bit of sympathy for them.

Me too.

Rather than the 15 points, I'd like to see people like Bates banned from the game.

I include billionaire Thai's that torture and kill in that statement.

Ha, Leeds fans have written to every League Club asking them to back Bates's appeal.

If you were the one to reply to this request how would you word such a reply, apart from the usual F**k O**, get stuffed etc.

Sure someone has a witty response.

Bates in a letter to his fellow chairman stated that at the deduction is a 'breach of natural justice.' source

Natural justice?

Natural justice would be a fooking ice pick appearing from nowhere and cleaving his head in two - that would be natural sodding justice.

Leeds have there hearing today as they appeal to get the points deduction lowered.

Barry Fry was interviewed outside and he basically said he wont be supporting Bates, as he is a willy puller :)

Well, Fry should know a willy puller when he sees one

How many points is this going to get reduced to then ?

Barry Fry was going in with the view that what is the difference between Boston and Leeds United.

Some how I feel Bates and the Football League will find one.

I don't think Leeds will get this overturned.

I can't see why any league 1 club would want to overturn it. It's far more beneficial to all of them to have Leeds start with minus 15 points.

The League 2 clubs will see no benefit to helping a big club and will see it as special favours that they wouldn't get in the same situation. They will be against it.

You might get the odd few championship clubs supporting Leeds, but not many. Plus the other clubs that have gone into admin will be wondering why they didn't get special treatment and needed to get a CVA agreed.

I think the only hope Bates has is to go to the high court and get them reduced as the season goes on. Makes me think back to that time Spurs were docked points only to get them back later.

Apparently if the majority of the vote is against Leeds, then the punishment could get worse!

In the first vote over 75% voted for a sanction, and in the second vote over 75% voted for the 15 points.

Leeds have lost their appeal against their 15-point deduction for an alleged breach of the Football League's insolvency policy on Thursday.

The chairmen of the other 71 Football League clubs voted "overwhelmingly" to sanction the club and then again to uphold the original punishment.

In both cases, the outcome was higher than a 75% majority vote.

Leeds supremo Ken Bates had insisted his club had not broken any rules but he must now accept the decision.

Bates had sent a letter to all Football league chairmen, arguing argued in his letter that the punishment was a "breach of natural justice".

It was imposed on 4 August, the same day that Leeds were granted their 'golden share' that allowed them to compete in the Football League this coming season.

The share had been suspended when Leeds went into administration at the end of last season, a decision that automatically incurred a 10-point penalty and thus sealed their relegation from the Championship.

The League want clubs coming out of administration to do so via a company voluntary arrangement (CVA) with football creditors paid in full.

Leeds' creditors originally opted for the club to be sold back to Bates via a CVA.

But HM Revenue & Customs, unhappy at the plans of Bates to pull the club out of administration by paying creditors only eight pence in every £1, mounted a legal challenge.

The matter went to a High Court hearing in Leeds. Preliminary hearings were held on 6 July with a date set for the full case to be heard in September - sparking fears the club might not start the season.

Administrators KPMG subsequently put the club up for sale.

Bates then bought the club back off KPMG in a deal that could eventually be worth more than 50p in every £1 for creditors.

But the purchase meant that the club had not come out of administration via a CVA - with the League imposing their subsequent 15-point penalty for the breach of policy.

Football League chairman Lord Mawhinney has written to all the chairmen of the 71 clubs outlining the consequences of not upholding the penalty against Leeds.

A League statement after the penalty was imposed said: "It is acknowledged the club did go into administration and has been unable to comply with the terms of the League's well-established insolvency policy.

Milan didn't get there in time - traffic apparently lol

But Im in 100% agreement with him, the deduction was unfair. 5 points would be reasonable

Milan was on SSN, didn't make it to the meeting in time but he says he's dissapointed about the postition Leeds are in and then talking about Leicester he said that he's hoping some deals will be wrapped up in the next few days.

Edit: Bit slow lol
