Simi Posted 12 August 2007 Posted 12 August 2007 Stockport Views The new goalkeeper from Leicester was fantastic Logan 7- Very comfortable and looks commanding. Kicks the ball well and the defence were confident with him, a full season of him...top stuff. played very well today and dealt with everything thumb.gif New keeper was also solid on everything he was called upon to do. But I thought Logan was in top form and made 2 great saves. Logan was fantastically out of his goal and smothered the shot with his body. Conrad Logan has made the team, he is a good keeper and looks comfortable Sounds very promising from Stockport fans.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 12 August 2007 Posted 12 August 2007 Not taking anything away from him but we know he can do it at League Two level - he proved that at Boston a couple of years ago. Hopefully he will lose some weight while he's there.

Hopefully he will lose some weight while he's there. He can do it at this level too. I've absolutely no idea why Martin Allen offloaded him so casually, except, as I've said, as a convenience. I had to laugh when, just like Kelly, MA said he would picking the best team. With Kelly it was just bullshit but Martin's more subtle and you can't say he's not kept his word. Logan, Gradel ... he just gets rid of the competition first!

Logan is a good shot stopper aswell as a future international!

No the truth is they are all about the same ability except Flab! Easier to loan out the kid Logan than 30+ year old veterans like Hendo & Nielsen We need a commanding GK and so far I have seen noting to say they will be end of

Can't tell if this is sarcastic or not? If not, please don't post your opinion on a City player before as you've clearly never watched a game in your life. Good on Conrad, hopefully a scout from a decent League One or Two outfit will spot him and he can run his career down as a journeyman lower league player as he should.
Pete_foxes Posted 12 August 2007 Posted 12 August 2007 bloody 'ell are they on about the same player? Fair play if hes doing well for them. Could do what that Hennessey guy did, Went out on loan to a lower league club did really good came back & I think Hennessy played yesterday. Well done Conrad. Logans got abit of potential I think, shotstopping is good, kicking is good. Its just everything else that needs alot of work on. Coming for corners & stuff hes pretty poor & he always seems really hesitant & indecisive. Dosent always make the correct descision when coming out of his box, stuff like that. Good on him though if hes playing well
Flynny Posted 12 August 2007 Posted 12 August 2007 Isn't he only on loan for a month? Our keepers are much of a muchness, if one of the three can get regular action instead of being benchbound, it's best all round.

Gradel and Dodds are both for initial 1 months I think.

Toby or not Toby Posted 12 August 2007 Posted 12 August 2007 Hope he gets a run of form going and comes back to us and carries on playing well!
Mr Happy Posted 12 August 2007 Posted 12 August 2007 Yeah all our keepers are pretty much adequent at this level of football and I reckon there'll be alot of changing keepers around, say if Hendo's conceding too many goals and city ain't doing so good because of this then in will come Nielsen, so at least by sending out Logan he'll get some much needed games under his belt whereas if he stayed here he'd not play many games
Geo V Posted 12 August 2007 Posted 12 August 2007 Good to see him starting well. Lets hope it continues. I think it was only natural to send the youngest and most inexperienced goalkeeper on loan. He has to back his judgment and he agreed to sign Nielsen, he has the experience of Hendo and then Rab is still here. BTW, one thing on Logan. Last season I would say it was a 50/50 split as to whom people preferred between him and Hendo. Neither were great but had decent games and both made errors. Logan away on loan will improve him and he`ll come back better for it.
FleckneyFox Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 Stockport 1-0 Dagenham Stockport 1-0 Tranmere Logan Played both games and apparently had a blinder against Tranmere pulling off 3 brilliant saves check the match report on the stockport official site
Simi Posted 15 August 2007 Author Posted 15 August 2007 We were fantastic, Logan was even more fantastic
TheBlinding Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 our new keeper played a blinder (very encouraging)

I wouldn't want to return to any club which loaned me out as a matter of convenience - and for no other reason than to keep better paid seniors happy. It's already clear that Stockport and Boston fans think far more of him than we do. People even invented faults for Logan just so they could get the great Dane in - and he's still not managed it.

I've herd in certain corners he's not anywhere near good enough for this level his signing seems to have been a bit of a mix up. And it certainly looked that way at the county game as well.
Daggers Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 I've herd in certain corners he's not anywhere near good enough for this level his signing seems to have been a bit of a mix up. If that was the case then why send out your only other keeper on loan?
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 If that was the case then why send out your only other keeper on loan? Can't really loan out the first signing of the new regime, they'd look daft!!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 If that was the case then why send out your only other keeper on loan? The story is that Mandaric has allowed Hendo to be number 1 on the proviso that as soon as he f**ks up, Casino Jimmy is in.
Dr The Singh Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 The story is that Mandaric has allowed Hendo to be number 1 on the proviso that as soon as he f**ks up, Casino Jimmy is in. I think it was a combination of a easy option, satisfying Logan ie getting first team footy onlaon and not looking so stupid as to making casino jimmy third choice!!!
Daggers Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 Can't really loan out the first signing of the new regime, they'd look daft!! Don't agree - he's not being kept for sentimental or face-saving reasons. It may go some way to explaining the sudden redundancy a month back though. If something happens to Hendo then are people seriously suggesting that the fall-back plan in Rab or a keeper signed by mistake? A team with intentions of pushing for play-offs? I don't buy it one little bit. I'm guessing he'll be running out for the reserves so we'll soon see his abilities over a number of games.

That's bollox... I've seen him play many times and he's decent enough. He's not even had a chance yet and he's already been written off.
