Pete_foxes Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 Why is it when we show any interest in a 32+ year old the phrase 'one last payday' gets fired out like ping pong balls in a Thai brothel. Because most of the time theres abit of truth in it.
Toby or not Toby Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 Because most of the time theres abit of truth in it. There is, especially when you are mentioning big names like Robbie Fowler, Andy Cole and now Jimmy Floyd-Hasslebaink.
Matt Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 Catch 22 People moan when we have young players - There "too unexperienced" If we get older experienced players people moan - There "too old", "Here for one last pay day" You can't win.
Scow Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 He won't suit the hoofball game, he could flop through no fault of his own. We only started hoofing the ball once we were behind. We did play some good football in patches and I'm sure Allen wants to continue with that. Although saying that, Stearman will be back in if Chambers doesn't recover from injury. Hooooooooooooooooooof.
Toby or not Toby Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 What about this barstweard... You Byewty. A few of them this season wouldn't go a miss!
Ashley Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 A few of them this season wouldn't go a miss! Yeh hopefully IF he does come
Toby or not Toby Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 Yeh hopefully IF he does come He will, I have my contacts!

Ashley Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 Hense the unsure face, I have none My instinct tells me he will sign!
Jack Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 I hope he signs, although he is getting on a bit now i think he would be a quality signing at this level and would get you about 15+ goals a season.

Toby or not Toby Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 Wth is your sig about WHAT PROBLEMS FGS.1 game into the season allready some one saying we have problems .. I agree Ash, but chill ya beans son!
Jack Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 Well, to be honest we don't really have a natural goal scorer at the minute.
Toby or not Toby Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 Well, to be honest we don't really have a natural goal scorer at the minute. I don't think he would be a natural scorer for us if it makes sense. Getting him motivated to play would be Martin Allen's biggest challenge!
Ashley Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 Well, to be honest we don't really have a natural goal scorer at the minute. Were one game into the season goals will come ... We was all over Blackpool and we didnt score they will come 45 games to go just wait and see;)
The Stig Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 I've purposely been avoiding this place recently becasue I can't be bothered with the idiots who are panicking after one game and being generaly so negative and naeive. But this is a great signing, his experience will help us and he will be a grat player at this level. The season will pick up, the top 10 beckons.

What the fudge are you on about? You don't discriminate based on age. You moan about everything.
Matt Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 Well according to SSN the move is on hold now, due to disagreement between Martin Allen and Milan Mandaric Hasselbaink went to the training ground to meet Martin Allen and have his medical but Milan called Hasselbaink to meet him at the stadium so Hasselbaink went over to meet Milan and Milan sent him home, leaving the move on hold
