Wait a minute, has he actually signed yet?? Or is this a wasted 10-page thread of bickering???

P.s. Make that 11!! lol

If the rumours are true that Allen isn't happy about Hasselbaink signing, then this spells trouble. I don't recall many occasions when a manager has players thrust upon him and it leading to a happy outcome.

Let's hope Allen is either won round by the idea or that the rumours are false and that JFH comes here and does the business.

Jimmy is our Shevchenko

Someone at my football training on Saturday morning told me that Hasselbaink had signed for us and I knew there was some truth in it because it was rumoured he was coming to us. At least we'll have someone who actually take free-kicks now and he's certainly got one hell of a kick on him. Do you think he should start and then get brought off if he cream crackered or start on the bench and come on if the other guys aren't getting the job done? Also, do you think this is the last striker we'll bring in? I mean do we really need yet another striker? Personally, I think we have planty enough already and there are certainly other areas we need to strenghthen more but who knows.

The rumours of him being unhappy are coming from the people who told us about JFH on Friday.

1 game into the season, desperately lacking left sided players of quality, a defeat, Milan pulling all the strings, Allen's upset, civil unrest, Jimmy is gonna guff all over championship defences, spunk all over the place. Milan, get out the gold plated handy wipes, there's gonna be one hell of a mess here!!

I wouldn't be suprised if Allen and Mandaric have had a row over this. We badly need midfielders and left sided players but Mandaric seems to want to go in for aging strikers like Fowler and Hasselbaink...players who would make it very difficult for Allen to manage in the style he seems to want to.

I've just read it, doesn't sound good. No, one player is worth sacrificing the relationship of manager and chairman. I wonder how opposed Allen is though, i'm struggling to see why there would be that much of a problem here.

Thats unfair because I saw a SSN report where MM admitted not going after Fowler aggressively as MA had said he wanted DJ. He backed his manager and it cost him £2m more than it would have had he got RF!

Also, bringing in someone like Hasselbaink well well be the catalyst in bringing other high profile players. I can remember when Pompey were in this division they brought in one experienced oldie and the rest followed, some not as old but proven quality. Hislop, Stone, Berger and the rest followed. Lets hope that this deal persuades JFH ex-team mate up from Charlton in Danny Murphy or someone of similar quality. To be honest, we may have brought in 12 new players before this deal but not many have been that high profile to attarct other players along. We seem to have missed out on the higher profile players like Todorov and Hendrie up to now but Jimmy may well help attract others.

Time to end this post before I say High Profile again. Oops.

Worst case scenario: Milan has the final say as the moneyman. We get JFH. Martin Allen is no longer properly motivated as he believes the chairman is talking tactics. JFH turns out to lack proper match fitness, but lives off his contract. The entire team spirit takes a large drop. We end up losing to Accrington Stanley. JFH leaves us after 6 months or so after a hefty training day incident.

The beginning of the end.

Goals since 2000:

JFH: 93

MDV: 41

Nuff said...........both ain't great but would prefer JFH in team rather than MDV.......
