The People's Hero Posted 13 December 2007 Posted 13 December 2007 Placebo - Without You I'm Nothing (album) Whilst drunk on champagne.
Finnegan Posted 13 December 2007 Posted 13 December 2007 Placebo - Without You I'm Nothing (album)Whilst drunk on champagne. I love that album. <3. "Like the naked leads the blind, I know I'm selfish, I'm unkind, Sucker love I always find, someone to bruise and leave behind, All alone in space and time, there's nothing here but what's here's mine, Something borrowed, something blue - every me and every you." Fookin' genius. Much underrated lyricist, imo.

Finnegan Posted 13 December 2007 Posted 13 December 2007 Hard to pick a favourite Placebo album, to be honest. I owned the first four (are they still the only four? I've totally lost touch with their stuff) and used to be pretty fanatical. The self titled is one of the most, on this theme, underrated albums I own really. It's very raw and, at the time, was immensely different. The original album version of Nancy Boy is stellar. What they did with the single version was just... bizarre!

Placebo, Without You I'm Nothing were awesome. Black Market Music was interesting and certainly listenable. After that, there have been certainly another studio album and a greatest hits/singles collection.
Joe. Posted 13 December 2007 Posted 13 December 2007 Influenced by the above: Placebo- The Bitter End
Finnegan Posted 13 December 2007 Posted 13 December 2007 I had Sleeping With Ghosts til some thieving scummer stole it from me in halls. Mostly contrived, overly produced stuff - really. Molko off the drugs is far less visionary, let's be fair. Haha. Black Market Music is 'ok' - again, a little too produced for me. The tail end of that album's great though, when you want to sit in dark corners of rooms and pretend you're mentally ill.

I didn't mind BMM, but it didn't have SOMETHING that the first two albums did. It might just have been a bit past it in terms of the timing. Placebo belong back in the day. They should let it lie.
Finnegan Posted 13 December 2007 Posted 13 December 2007 On a loosely related note, this is one to stick up the ass of all those whiney Pixies fans that think Molko "ruined" Where Is My Mind. fook you all.

Bellend Sebastian Posted 13 December 2007 Posted 13 December 2007 The new British Sea Power single 'Waving Flags' and it's so brilliant it's sending shivers down my spine
