Jay Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 Not unless DR has been relocated Ciudad Mexico DF...but saying that, why do people go to the Carib during hurricane season anyway? because many don't understand that the seasons are different in some parts of the world!!
Zingari Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 Not unless DR has been relocated Ciudad Mexico DF...but saying that, why do people go to the Carib during hurricane season anyway? its the best time of year to capture on video some big fat woman whose skirt has blown up over her face walking into a palm tree causing a coconut to fall on her head YBF pay handsomely for this sort of stuff
Brainy Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 This is the first major hurricane in just under 2 years. Infact it must be the first hurricane in just under 2 years.

Stunning display of meteorological knowledge there - you should change your name from 'Walkers' to 'Michael Fish'. You might find checking out NOAA useful in future
James. Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 Not unless DR has been relocated Ciudad Mexico DF...but saying that, why do people go to the Carib during hurricane season anyway? It's cheaper. Quite considerably I believe. This is the first major hurricane in just under 2 years.Infact it must be the first hurricane in just under 2 years.

I am Rod Hull Posted 29 October 2012 Posted 29 October 2012 Hurricane Sandy is closing in on highly populated areas of the US East Coast, threatening storm surges and devastating flooding. In New York City, thousands have been ordered to evacuate, and shelters have been set up in 76 schools. Public transport in Washington DC, Philadelphia and New York is suspended and the New York Stock Exchange shut. Forecasters fear Sandy will become a super-storm when it collides with cold weather fronts from the west and north. It also coincides with a full moon, which is bringing higher tides. Sandy has already killed 60 people after sweeping through the Caribbean in the past week. http://www.bbc.co.uk...canada-20121811 Good luck to all of our Yankee foxes.
Guest MattP Posted 29 October 2012 Posted 29 October 2012 Looks mental on the news, first pics from near Baltimore.
Guest MattP Posted 29 October 2012 Posted 29 October 2012 Any chance of it taking out Vegas? Atlantic City could go, or "Vegas for the poor" as it's known. Certainly no loss and would stop Froch fighting there.
Jordan Posted 29 October 2012 Posted 29 October 2012 AC (home of the trashiest strip club I've ever seen) is probably the last place in the world I'd want to be today. It's getting rocked and some areas are already flooded. Right now, the rain hasn't been too heavy where I am, but it is quite windy. In a few hours, though, the winds will pick up even more and we will have tropical storm-strength winds, then the heavy rain will hit us tonight. My neighborhood tends to not flood, but other places here do. Here, I'm mostly concerned about hazards caused by high winds (downed trees and power lines, plus flying debris). Very few people are out and about. I think I've only heard two cars drive down my street all day. I'm glad government agencies and emergency response teams have mobilized quickly. Looking at the forecasts and watching some video, I'm pretty sure Lower Manhattan will flood. Anybody down there that is defying the evacuation order is a moron.

Brace, brace, brace an all that!
AoWW Posted 29 October 2012 Posted 29 October 2012 Looks like this is going to be massive when it properly hits the north east. for all those FTers who may be affected by this.
THEFATBASTARD Posted 29 October 2012 Posted 29 October 2012 Apparently bigger than Katrina. http://www.marketwat...p;dist=hplatest Just seen it on the Beeb. Scary stuff. Ive done bigger farts,,
sphericalfox Posted 29 October 2012 Posted 29 October 2012 Looks like this is going to be massive when it properly hits the north east. for all those FTers who may be affected by this. I remember the Nor'easter of 1991 - Boston MA. That truly was a storm. Ah memories.... Oh and the Storm of the Century in 1993. Shitloads of snow from that badboy. We don't even know we're alive in the UK.
Guest Posted 29 October 2012 Posted 29 October 2012 I heard on the TV that NY was panicking because of potential 55mph winds (plus gusts). 55mph winds is nothing. We get100kmh winds plus off the atlantic ocean several times a year. I thought New Yorkers were made of sterner stuff.
