Nationwider Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Why the **** is everyone so obsessed with having a manager with a ****ing personality? I'm sorry - have we become so ****ing media-obsessed? Why must we have "new life breathed in" to the club? Why does every press conference have to be a joke every ****ing minute? All gimmicky sh*t. I expect it from MM. That's his game. We all lapped it up like whores when he was dishing it out to the Mercury pre-takeover. Did it not occur to anyone that he was a crank then? No - apparently not, because we're all too stupid. What I find utterly ****ing ridiculous is the way 95% of this forum can turn on a sixpence against the guy that is going to slowly get us out of the sh*t - by any means necessary. Everyone must be ****ing telepathic around here except for me, as everyone seems to have read MM's mind and apparently knows exactly what's happened. I'm sure some interesting stuff about Allen will surface when the tree's been shaken a little harder. MM owns Leicester City - all of it, for better or worse. He's the boss. He's been sucked in by Allen's jibber-jabber; -1 for that Milan, btw. He employs the man and then realises that he's demonstrably not the man to take Leicester to the Premiership. So he gets rid. Can we not be satisfied for now that we've got some quality in the squad and an owner that is 100% committed in trying to bring Premiership football to Leicester? He has no intention of being seen as a failure, so I vote (for now) we give the benefit of doubt to The Devil, rather than look whistfully back at The Deep Blue Sea (or the Watery Grave, as it was becoming until about 9 months ago). I didn't want Allen - he wouldn't have been on my top 10 shortlist. He's not got the nouse unfortunately. He's an eccentric in the Holloway mould - not the sort of manic personality to trust with the grandkids' inheritance. MM has made a mistake, but made a bold decision in backtracking. Yes, it's embarrassing for LCFC, but i'm sure MM doesn't give a sh*t. Successful people generally don't.
lookwhaticando Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 My eyes. I don't think I've ever seen Nationwider post so much profanity in one crack.
lildave3 Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 He was certainly a different mold to what we became accustomed to with Nobert Kelly. Who knows what he could of archived with this club, obviously we will never know. But for a while, the man was a huge breath of fresh air. I'll certainly be following Allen's next job very closely, hopefully with a club in this division, also I hope he wont have to wait to long.Would be very interesting to just get one last Allen update, somehow I think the chances of that are very slim due to privacy rights etc. Best of luck Allen, let the Manadric roller coaster continue! Agree with that lot.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Thanks Martin you were great a little ecsentric but you show plenty of passion and i think time would have showed how good a manager you could have been
Charnwood Norris Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Martin, if your reading these pages whilst at your home (must be an awful, sleepless night for you), I'm sorry you weren't given enough games to prove yourself.
Nationwider Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 idiot Get back in your bed and wait for your nurse. And sorry for having an opinion different to yours. You'll have to give me more than a one word insult, I'm afraid - that's not good enough.

Good post I do however say again a big thank you to Martin because he did bring a ray of light to the club and it was for the most part enjoyable. However the cracks did start to appear and I had my misgivings early on. His eccentricity was always going to be explosive and some of the incrediby naive tactics he seemingly adopted on top of some very average signings-not all his might I add-was always going to mean trouble and although I would rather he stayed I'm not as pissed off as many that he's gone. Martin Allen was my top choice for the job but Milans replacement will have to be something special now because the one thing you can't buy Milan is the fans get it wrong again and it's back to sub 14000 attendances.
Ric Flair Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Cheers Martin. Really gutted that it wasn't meant to be and you've gone. I wish you all the best in the future, i'm sure you'll find a club that's suited to you. Cheers for the memories of last Saturday, great times. Life moves on though, see you in the Premiership one day.

Simon Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 All the best Martin. Really gutted things didn't work out for you here, I believed that this could have been the start of something special. I wish you the best for wherever you go in the future.
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 I have never been more upset as a Leicester fan. We have lost Playoff finals, we have been relegated. We have been in administration - actually that was a bit more upsetting but you get my drift.Martin I strongly feel you were going to be our best manager since O'Neill I wish you all the best. I just wish I could stop thinking about what Martin Allen and Leicester City could have been together a bit further down that road... Not very difficult!! We'll never know just how far Allen would have taken us but it does help if you assume he would have been shitter than Kelly, it will help you get over it swiftly

Manwell Pablo Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Cheers Martin. I think the saddest thing about this is how much he wanted to the job and do it well.
Flynny Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 I think the saddest thing is that he may not realise how much we were all behind him (so to speak). We're kinda powerless to show that now. He probably feels like crap and totally underappriciated at the minute, and unless he's been an absolute monster behind the scenes there's no way he deserves that.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 I read Tomassi's post that he was getting stick at Forest, well if he did I certainly didn't hear it. We chanted "Martin, sort them out" but that was because we knew that would fire him up to have a go at the team at half time. If anything that was giving him more support.
Head Honcho Posted 30 August 2007 Author Posted 30 August 2007 Wrong wrong wrong...Good luck Martin, wherever you go. Anyone who appoints a manager and then sacks them after 3 league games only shows what a fickle failure they are themselves. You were just what the fans wanted, a manager with passion. You derserve far better than this. Self made millionaire doesn't equate to fickle failure you moron You may not agree with the decision but ffs give MM some credit sacking MA shows how determined he is for us to succeed!
inmemoryofdoreen Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 allens autobiography will be a interesting read if he ever does one
koop. Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 All the best Mad Dog, you will be missed, best thing to happen in Leicester since MON. Hope you have a great managerial career im just gutted it isn't here with city. MAD DOGS BLUE ARMY :chant:

Moron, huh ? Do you resort to name calling every time someone expresses an opinion you disagree with ? I am as entitled to my opinion as you are to yours. I happen to think that appointing someone in May and dismissing them in August amounts to a failure of selection policy. The way MA was allowed to spend money on players and then dismissed AFTER JUST 3 LEAGUE GAMES is a failure of good stewardship at the club. Next time you want to resort to name calling, try calling me a goat molesting uncle lover or something, it will have more effect.
